They've done previous work for me which was pretty good but they didn't have the experience needed for the composite deck. Their price range was great. They negotiated and even dropped a $1000 dollars. They did an excellent job on the foundation part but the bottom part of the railing was upside down which would have caught water. It was also sagging between each post and they failed to put the screws on the outside so they have to go for the extra screw and put it on. They had to put the wrap which they failed to do also. When I told them about the sagging, they said it must be the material. I contacted the manufacturer and they asked me if I can take pictures. They said that the guys from Encore Better Homes failed to put the port under the railing and had the railing upside down, too. Encore Better Homes had to take the railing off and corrected it until it became straight the way it should have been. The problem is that they had to drill again so there were a lot of holes. They didn't want to replace it so they just covered the holes with a paddy thing. By the next year, the screws started buckling and I found out they didn't put them in close enough. They were supposed be placed every 8 inches but they did it every 2 feet. I've been asking them since then to correct their jobs. They ended up firing two of their people who did the job for me because the job was supposed to take 2 weeks but it took them 3 months. They kept failing to show up for work. It turned out that they were taking window jobs and so my job took longer. The owner's son came over and finished the work himself and he said, "I'm gonna tell my dad not to contract anymore composite decks - they are just too much trouble." They're definitely one that I would not recommend.
Description of Work: I had Encore Better Homes put in a composite deck for me.

Response from Encore Better Homes
First, the job was done in 2010, not 2013. The job took longer than usual, but customer was satisfied with the quality and effort to make good on what we did. He paid in full on completion. He called about 2 months ago with a complaint about the outside face board warping. I told him we would be willing to assist in trying to satisfy him, even though the job is out of warranty. Now we get a poor rating on a job that is 3 years old...not much of an incentive to go back, wouldn't you say?

Encore Better Homes have done different jobs for me, such as siding, guttering and deck construction. Their prices are reasonable and really fast. They cleaned up after themselves. It was a mess while they were working on it. They do a good job. They really want to please you with their finished product.
