Excellent work all the way around. Scott Will came to the house and heard what we wanted to do; he came up with the way to do it, and it was actually less expensive than my original ideas. Nickie Brunner was the project coordinator and kept me well informed throughout the whole process. The on-site team consisted of Jacob, Mirsad and Ramiz; they were excellent. I was amazed at how efficiently they removed the old fence and got the new one installed. In 2 days they created a beautiful new fence. They were obviously dedicated to customer satisfaction and gave me ample opportunity to review and comment on their work. We could not be more pleased with the quality of the end product. I would gladly use Chesterfield Fence again, and recommend them highly.

Setting a date for the work was interesting. However, they did great work in less time than expected.

They're a little expensive.Overall, it's pretty good. I have had a couple blown off due to pretty windy weather, other than that, it's been pretty good. If you have any problems with alignment of the gates, they come back out and re-align those.

Our salesman Andy and installers Esav and Ned did an excellent job from start to finish. Our new fence looks great and when spring arrives we look forward to showcasing it with some new backyard landscaping. We have had a lot of nice comments from neighbors, family and friends. Would recommend Chesterfield Fence and Deck to anyone interested in a quality fencing job at a reasonable price.

They were timely, dependable, and affordable.

It was fast and it was expensive. They did a pretty good job, but it seems like a lot of money for a 90-foot fence. The fence doesn't have a split gate in it, it just has an automobile gate. For some reason they did not assume that we would want to get in and out of our yard without going through the house so we have to use a clicker to open the gate because there is no button on the fence anywhere to open the gate. They weren't super-responsive when I called to ask about that. They were fine until the bill was paid and then they were kind of unavailable after that. They did a good job on the punctuality; they were here on time and got the job done quick.

When I received bids for my recent deck project, Chesterfield Fence and Deck was not the lowest. It was, however, the one company that was consistently held out by friends, family, neighbors and co-workers as the best deck and fence company in St. Louis. On the strength of those recommendations, I decided to engage CF&D and could not be happier that I did. The project involved installing a new Veka deck and replacing a window with French doors. The deck installation was efficient and flawless. Despite the freezing temperatures, Neal and his crew did beautiful work and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Once the door portion of the project was underway, it became evident that the project was a bit more complex than was originally contemplated (old homes with brick walls sometimes come with surprises). Despite the additional complexity of the project and the additional costs needed to complete it, CF&D honored the pricing in the original contract, cutting into their own profits to do so. Even more importantly, the company’s customer service was exceptional throughout the process (even when faced with an admittedly difficult customer). At one point in the project, a scheduling miscommunication resulted in a hole in the wall being left uncovered at the end of the day. Upon learning of the problem, the project manager, Steve Dudas, was at the house within the hour to personally board up the wall and ensure the home would be safe overnight. When I woke up to see freezing rain outside the next morning (December 23rd), I resigned myself to my home being a bit of a construction site over Christmas. Much to my surprise, moments later, Neal, Steve and their teams showed up and started working. I later learned that they had brought along scaffolding to tent the project if necessary to get it done that day. As impressed as I was that the team showed up to work under those conditions, I was even more impressed with the quality of the work they performed. Throughout the project I was told by everyone from the president of the company to the sales staff that CF&D’s number one priority is customer satisfaction and that they will always choose customer service over profit. They consistently demonstrated that they are willing to stand behind those promises. I could not recommend them more highly.

I have not received call back from customer service. My information taken. My war entry remains active for 7 more months. Waiting for call back with Bungi cord holding gate closed. Tacky for a very expensive fence , decorative aluminum and more costly fence purchase based on reputation of company. Would use again if Customer service provided

We had to remind the installer to remove the concrete along with the posts on the old fence, but he did a good job with that task. Crew was very professional and cleaned up after the job. The red cedar has a wonderful look!

I’ve used them twice. They are excellent. I recommend them to everybody. They are a little pricier. I probably could have found somebody cheaper but I just assumed to spend the extra money and have it done right. They are a great company.

Wonderfully! The three-man crew showed up early, did no lawn or plant damage and finished 1.5 days ahead of schedule! The cost was reasonable and the start date was not that far off from the target date (rain days were the reason for any delay). The crew was polite and helpful. This company is in demand so there is a wait, but worth it!

Excellent experience. From our first meeting with a salesman, Abdul, through the installation I couldn't ask for better service. Abdul was very professional yet friendly, answered all of our questions and offered a price within our budget. Our fence was installed earlier than estimated and the two installers, Freddy and Romario were also very professional and efficient. They even worked in a mild rain to get the job finished. I was also impressed that there was not the smallest scrap left after they cleaned up. We are so glad that we chose Chesterfield Fence and Deck. The fence looks great and we have gotten a lot of positive comments.

From the very start of the process with Dee Williams providing a timely quote through the fence install Chesterfield Fence was a pleasure to work with. The installation crews showed up on time and did a very good job installing the fence. They cleaned up after themselves as the fence was being installed, hauling away all the dirt from digging the post holes. The crews were very friendly and professional. Overall a very good project.

The company showed up in the beginning of June to begin work. On day one the company arrived and removed the existing deck. On day two, nobody showed up to work. I didn't receive a call, text, or e-mail. I spent the next 6 hours calling and e-mailing the company to try and determine why the project had stalled. I finally received a phone call back informing me I would receive another phone call later in the evening to discuss the issue. I received a call later that evening explaining that their were some bricks that needed to be replaced before work continued. I expressed my concern with the lack of communication and why this couldn't have been brought to my attention on day 1 so i could have a mortar guy fix the issue sooner rather than later. Two days later, I called the project manager to inform him the brick work had been completed and that they could go ahead with building the deck. Two days passed without anybody showing up and nobody reaching out to me about any update. In that time, I noticed that the holes for the piers didn't seem to match up with the plans we had approved. I called the project manager and he agreed to meet me. Once he met us, we looked over the plans and realized that the plans, which the workers were building the deck off of, were not the original plans we approved nor had we ever seen. Somebody had changed our deck plans, sent them to the city for permit approval, and never bothered to inform us of the change. THEY STARTED BUILDING THE WRONG DECK. That project manager ensured he would correct the problem. He called us an hour later saying they would build the original deck we agreed on. The next day, another project manager called us and told us there was no way to build that deck (communication in the deck department is obviously a weakness). After being transferred to the head project manager of the department (#3), who agreed this project had been completely mismanaged, he confirms our original plans aren't possible due to code (a little irritating since I feel that should of been something that is discovered before by old deck is torn off my house and my backyard is rendered unusable for a whole month-SEE PHOTOS). My grass was completely dead by this point thanks to all the wood they decided to stack on top of it. The plans had to be resubmitted to the city. We got the new plans and we were satisfied that we were finally making progress. Then the original sales person emails with the new plans and the new price of the deck. They had to make the deck bigger due to their error in digging piers through my concrete patio slabs and they wanted us to pay for the extra two feet of deck. You would think with all the hassle they would be willing to give us a discount to make a mends. Throughout this whole process I never once received an email, text, or phone call updating me on the process. I was always the one reaching out to my project manager or calling the company directly to determine what was going on. By the end, I was doing this every day just to determine if somebody was showing up that day or not. The communication was horrendous. I really felt as though my job didn't matter and I was just a small guy, and that was for what was originally going to be a $10,000 project. It ended up taking one month to complete the new deck from the time they tore off our old deck. The final product is adequate, but not worth the headache, stress, and babysitting that had to be done to get it finally completed. I'll be having my fence replaced in the next 6 months and I won't even call these guys for a quote.

I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism of this company and its representatives. I had multiple bids on this project and some were downright amateurish in the way that the initial contact and bidding was handled. Here, Mr. Ahmed arrived prepared went over all the bullet points expected on a bid such as material description, amount needed, liability insurance, lien waivers etc. The scheduling was as promised and any adjustments handled by Nickie promptly. The gentlemen who came out to handle in the install were terrific. There were a few decisions to be made and the foreman consulted us on each and made extremely good suggestions. The team worked very hard and were very efficient. The gates were installed the next day. No, the bid from this company was not the lowest; however the old adage of you get what you pay for was never so correct. I did not have to worry about anything but could rely upon the professionals at ever step of the way.

It was great dealing with Bill, who helped us decide exactly what we wanted. The install crew was professional and very nice to work with. They answered any questions we had, did a beautiful job of building and installing our fence and cleaned up everything. All and all a great experience.

From the sales rep to the installers all were in constant contact with us, keeping us up to date on the status of our project. Follow up was done in a timely manner too. The crew who installed the fencing was fantastic! On a very hot day, they worked through and finished the installation. We are very pleased and have had numerous positive comments from neighbors on our new fence.

This was a pretty disappointing experience for us only because we've had work done by this company in the past several times and they did an excellent job. This experience was avg at best and at times extremely frustrating. The intial sales call was great. We were given a lot of good info about the quality of fence choices available to us. We knew we'd be spending quite a bit of money so this was important to us. Once we made the decision we were warned that our driveway gates were special order so it may take several weeks to get those in. The installation of fence and gates were only 2 weeks off that estimate and we delayed them one of those weeks due to our scheduled vacation. One week off an estimate for special order is pretty great so we were happy. But then things started to not go as smooth. My husband was home during installation and walked the workers thru our sprinkler system map. He advised they not use a power auger to dig for the posts due to the close proximity of the lines. Once he was back in the house they proceeded to ignore him and use the auger. Hit not only a sprinkler line but blasted through the entire electrical system and main supply line to our system. They then dug the rest of the posts by hand as they were instructed too. We also noted that the fence panels were 6ft when we were informed and have a bid/contract that says 8ft sections. So my husband got concerned we weren't receiving the higher quality fence we had ordered. A convo with the lead guy on the job site assured us we were getting the right (higher) quality fence and he was shocked the sales guy wouldn't have known that fence doesn't come in anything larger than 6ft sections in order to maintain integrity of the fence. Not a huge deal but our first hint our sales guy may not have been the most informed. The guys finished our fence, installed the gates and said they'd be back asap after the sprinkler system was repaired in order to set that post and hang that unfinished panel. We contacted our sales guy about the sprinkler damage and he quickly reminded us that on the contract we signed it said we assumed liability for that damage. We knew this but pointed out that we assumed the liability of them digging by hand as we instructed not using the auger as we had instructed them NOT to use. Had they been digging by hand the damage would have been far less. He just instructed us to get it fixed as soon as we could and then we'd work it out. So we did the leg work to get a quick repair. Then we called the Chesterfield Fence so they could come back out to finish. And we waited... In the meantime the specialist who installs the mechanics of the gate arrived to install the automatic gate openers. Immediately he noted the gates were installed incorrectly. He rehung the gates correctly. Then he wondered why we didn't have a pedestrian gate on that side of the yard since the driveway gate isn't really safe to use for pedestrians. Our sales guy had never mentioned this safety issue or even suggested a gate there. I really regret not having a gate there and had it even been mentioned by our sales guy, I would have definitely included that option. You don't know what you don't know. Another miss. The specialist who installed the openers was great and so informed that if I could rate him separately I'd give him an A across the board. He did his work nearly two weeks after the fence was installed and when he noticed that the workers had never returned to install our fence panel nearly two weeks after the sprinkler was repaired he personally alerted the office. Our calls/emails weren't answered but when he contacted them they showed up the next day! Our savior, as the neighbors were getting extremely tired of the orange construction fencing the workers had tied up to keep our dog in! And in the end, after spending a lot of money on this project (not to mention what we spent on past projects) AND referring numerous people over the years the sales guy never did make good on his promise to "work things out" on the sprinkler repair. It was $300 (on an $18,000 job) so we cut our losses and called it a day. We just wanted to be done. It's really too bad, they've done such great work in the past but this experience was far from great and I don't feel comfortable using them or referring them any longer. They really didn't make any effort to make things right even when given the oppty.

Overall, I highly recommend this company. I contacted another one-man company to get a bid, thinking it would be drastically lower (less overhead to tack on) however he ended up being more expensive! When you factor in the years these guys have been in business, with the warranty, with the other people I know that have used them, I knew they were the company to use. From the beginning, they were very responsive to get a bid. We were a little disappointed at the jump in price in less than a year ($100) from when we first got a quote to when we actually contracted them. We were told it was out of their control since they had increases across the board, but it was still a little hard to swallow. Regardless, we hired them since it was still cheaper than the other guy and we felt confident they would do a good job. After we got our HOA to sign off on everything, we learned we needed a permit for St Charles county. We were disappointed with how this all transacted. We asked Chesterfield Fence and Deck to take care of everything, which they graciously said they would. However, two days before our scheduled install date, our rep from the company called and basically asked me to take over the process since he did not have a permit yet and wasn't getting a response from the county. Long story short, it ended up taking an extra week+ to get the permit and we had to push back the fence install. If I had known from the start that I was basically going to have to do everything to hand hold the process to get our permit, I would have liked to of known 2 days before our original install so I could have taken care of it and the fence installed on the original date. After we got the permit and got the fence finally scheduled (got bumped a few times for rain...completely understandable) we were in business and the morning of the install the crew came out promptly was very professional talking with me and my husband and made sure they knew exactly what we wanted. I was at home all day so I was able to see the tear out of the old fence and the install of the new fence (a two day job). I was highly impressed with the speed and skill from these guys. You can tell they knew what they were doing! After the fence was installed, the head guy walked me around to look at everything and showed me all the functional gates and made sure I was happy. They cleaned up completely after themselves and left us with a great looking fence! Other than the hiccups I mentioned, we had a good experience and would recommend them to anyone and would definitely use them again.

A huge thank you first to our new neighbors for letting us know they were going with Chesterfield Fence & Deck! Andy was out giving a bid and we were able to piggyback off of the project since our fence was going to be used by both our houses. We had a large tree branch that fell on the fence and bent the top rails. The branch fell right at a joint so we had to replace 2 rails. We also discussed the give that the fencing had and Andy mentioned that they typically put tension wire on the bottom so that there is not that movement. We got the quote for the work we wanted the very next day, and once we agreed to the price the contract was sent. Both the bid and contract were sent to us the day after they looked at our fence. They even waved the standard "delivery" fee since they would already be there for our neighbor. The fence looks great, we are happy to have had Chesterfield Fence & Deck perform the work.
