For nine years, I've struggled with a Trane central A/C unit that had been installed by All-Weather Heating and Air Conditioning of Columbia, MO. The unit never worked right; it struggled to cool the house, was unable to keep it at temperature, and the coil and lines would frost up regularly. A number of service calls with All-Weather never managed to fix the problem. Enter Hancock Refrigeration & Heating. The Hancock technician came to my house and was able to diagnose the problem immediately. Simply put, the coils had never been properly installed; huge gaps were letting the air flow simply bypass the coil on all sides, causing the system to not cool the air properly and the coil to freeze up. He reinstalled the coil properly - cleaning it while he was at it - for half the price that All-Weather had quoted just to clean them. For the first time in the nine years since I've had this unit, my A/C works properly. I couldn't be happier.

They had installed the heating and air conditioning system when we built our home in 2000. They’ve been here a couple of times. They guy was here on a service call first and I spent over $500. It’s a family run business which I like. It’s a man and his 2 sons. They are very responsive to calls. I get a call back whenever I call them and I like that part. When it’s fixed, it’s fixed. They are responsive to any call that I make. I would personally grade them very high, but I think that the system that I got probably wasn’t the best. I say that because may be in 10 years I was supposed to start having some troubles, but I had a problem with the heat last year and the air conditioning this year. I don’t know how long they are supposed to last. They all have 5 year guarantees and I don’t know if any other equipment has in this area. They were accommodating and they came out and took a look at the whole house. They recommended me to put in a separate unit for my second level which I can just shut off when no one is here because it’s for master bedrooms on the ground floor. That saved me a lot of money because I don’t have to heat or cool the whole house. When I come back its fine and I just put that stuff on and that was a good thing. I don’t think I want to grade them an A because of a couple of problems that I have had. I like them because it’s a family owned company and I happen to know the wife and his sons have been in the business with him for a long time. They are very friendly and I like that. It means a lot to me. It seems more personal rather than just business. Their price is reasonable. A couple of people who I know have had similar problems paying similar money. If they say they are going to be here in the morning, they are here in the morning, but there’s no fixed time. These are like country folks, but they are professional. I would use them again in the future.
