Baumann Tree

Mike was the third of four tree services that we arranged to have provide us with an estimate. He visited the house, took a look at the trees, and discussed removal with us. His estimate was that his crew could remove both trees in one day, which was faster than several of the other estimates we received. I checked with him for proof of insurance, which he promptly provided, and asked a few questions about his business. Mike provided an estimate that was right in line with most of the other estimates. Because of the stellar reviews that he had on Angie's List, we felt confident hiring. After discussing a few final details, we returned the contract. Scheduling was difficult because of the weather, but Mike remained in touch until we found a day that worked. Mike and his crew arrived in the morning. My wife stayed home that day and said that they laid plywood to protect the yard from the skidder and lift. She said that the crews were efficient and that they were wearing protective equipment. Before noon, they had the trees removed. When I arrived home that night, I observed that the yard was basically as it was before, with very minimal signs that the equipment and crew had been there. The crew cut the stumps or the trees to the ground as far as possible (we did not opt for stump grinding based on the location of the trees), and they picked up all of the debris. We greatly appreciate Mike's attention to detail and the care and concern with which his crew worked. We would absolutely hire him again.

Mr. Baumann was relatively punctual in responding to my phone call for an appointment (given that it was summer and a prime season for tree work). He came out to the house within a few days, assessed the work, gave the price and estimated when the team would be out to do the work. His crew was very efficient, did exactly as planned and cleaned up completely. We were very satisfied with the entire experience. They even trimmed so that the remaining branches on our side were rather artfully cut --- not an electric company straight line.

The work was fine, but because of the weather they need to put their equipment on my yard and left some good marks. But over all they are good.

Wow. They were fantastic, superbly professional, very hard working, extremely safe and careful. Mike's crew is highly skilled, very safe, and they take direction from Mike consistently. Everyone has a job, they know what to do, and no one stands around waiting. I've never seen a team with a better work ethic. They cleaned up the yard, the roof, the sidewalk, the front steps, the driveway and the street. On top of this they were very nice and respectful.

Absolutely fantastic! They gave a fair estimate to remove 5 full grown silver maples and stump grinding. They had 6 people on site who were nice and courteous. They didn't complain when my dog got out and was sniffing at their equipment. They left no trash and even put their lunch remains in the proper trash can and recycling containers. Mr. Baumann was pleasant and punctual. They truly went above and beyond.

They came out and did the quote. They showed up when they were suppose to. They did it very quick. It was done very well.

He and his team worked fast and efficiently. It was a pleasure to deal with Mike. He is a man of his word which is so often not true in today's business world. I recommend calling him.

Mike and his crew did an excellent job. I called three companies to get an estimate and Mike called the next morning and set up a time to meet. It took the other two companies more than a week to respond to my call. They came the week as promised, removed 5 trees and left absolutely no mess behind. I will hire his company again for any future needs. Don't hesitate to use this company. Very professional and very nice to work with and did the job at a great price.

On a Monday, I booked an appointment with the appointment maker for Daniel to come out for a tree-trimming estimate on Thursday. The appointment "window" was 9:00-12:00. At noon, I called the only number I had for Baumann, and left a message explaining that no one called or showed. I asked for a return call. At about 2:00, Daniel called to reschedule the appointment. He apologized and explained he had car trouble and had been tied up with the repair paperwork. It was a hot day, and I'm sure Daniel was having a bad day, which explains his tone with me. Still, that was no excuse for not having someone call on his behalf (how about the appointment maker?). My time is as valuable as anyone else's. I had cleared my calendar and already given Baumann 3 hours of my time so I declined the offer to reschedule. He offered to work around my schedule. Thank you. But his tone was as if he was doing me a favor by coming out the following day. No thank you. The courtesy of a phone call before noon would have salvaged this situation. There are plenty of other tree services in the area.

The crew of 5 worked methodically to remove and trim the trees and then cut up the trunk of the large Hickory making it easy to move for my husband. My yard/driveway was clean and tidy when Mike and his crew left. They had to deal with a children's play set, a horse fence and mature plantings all while the large tree was down......could not have asked for better results! Will recommend Baumann Tree Service and we will use their services again.

The crew was punctual and split up the work quickly. The deadwooding went by quickly, and they cleaned up that section of yard very well. I was impressed with the care taken there. The tree removal went well. We were able to keep some for firewood. They maneuvered around our other trees and flowers carefully, and made quick work of the tree. They also tried to clean up around the removed tree. Unfortunately, it was another crew for the stump grinding and that crew did very little to clean up afterward. The stump was ground out however they did not level/remove the excess chippings, and they left sawdust/chips everywhere - house windows, the garden, the nearby trees, my car (about 30 feet away), even the grass was covered in a thick layer of wood dust. I saw a single tiny leaf blower used and that was it. Most of the dust I was able to get back into a pile in about 10 minutes but we had to regrade and landscape a bit. This wasn't a huge problem for us and we didn't complain so I don't take much off the rating. However, I will consider that that isn't part of their normal crew, who were head and shoulders above the stump grinders in terms of both cleanup and carefulness. For the price they still offered a great value. I would use them again.

this is our third time using Buamann tree service. MIke runs a very professional company. He is on time for quotes, provides services as described, works safely and cleans up ;the yard after the work. I have enjoyed our interactions with Mike on the three jobs he has done and will continue to use him in the future. I have no hesitation in reccomending Baumann tree service.

Mike and his crew were friendly, professional and punctual. They gave us an excellent rate on our tree trimming, and even included a discount for myself and my neighbor, since we got our trees done on the same day. I was very satisfied with their work, and they cleaned everything up when finished. Highly recommended.

They were on time and so efficient. Mike was with them but the young men who took down the trees knew what they were doing. They were one of the most efficient teams I have ever seen. Not only did they take the trees down, they cleaned up all their branches and leaves. Mike Baumann gave me a fair estimate and scheduled the work the same day....running about two weeks out. He and his crew arrived on the day promised even though the weather had been rainy for a week. They arrived promptly, well staffed, and with all the equipment necessary to do the job. One of the trees removed was very large, inside the pool fence and close to my patio. They were very professional and clearly knew what they were doing as not so much as a small limb fell on my house or onto my pool cover. His team returned the next day to grind out the stumps of the trees removed. The large oaks required climbing and the rest of the trees were trimmed. Clean up was excellent. I will definitely be using Baumann Tree again and would be happy to recommend his company to others.

We bought our new home in Kirkwood knowing that the yard was a mess--multiple trees (red bud, magnolias, red oaks, persimmon) had been neglected for a long time and needed a lot of thinning and deadwooding. Plus we had a large area (probably 35' x 10') of nightmare that needed to be cleared out--trees and shrubs overgrown with a gigantic hyacinth vine choking everything. We asked our neighbors who they used because their yard is gorgeous, trees are beautifully trimmed -- they recommended MIke Baumann. We scheduled with him and after his giving us a very fair bid, had him start on the yard. He showed up early with a full crew and large equipment--there was no messing around, had his guys in the trees right away. The job took 6 hours or so, and they went full blast the whole time. When they left, the yard was cleaned of all debris, the grove of hyacinth overgrowth was totally bare (fantastic!). We had a few stumps which were left behind, and MIke came out the following day to grind those down to below grade. Overall we were very impressed with Mike and his crew--professional, timely, hard working. I have given his name to a friend who is looking for someone to help with their HOA at their condo complex, as I think he'd do an amazing job. We've had several compliments on the trees since the work, and one person who is an arborist said that the job done was top notch. We will definitely work with Mike in the future!

I had 2 very large trees that needed to be trimmed. They turned out great. The 40 foot tall Cedar tree looks like a work of art. They also removed ivy that went all through the tree at no charge. The cleanup was so good it looked like they were never there. Pricing was fair and they exceeded my expectations.

Overall, very satisfied with the service.

I recently had a bad experience with another tree company so I was a little leary going into this but Mike was extremely responsive and punctual. He came out to provide me a free estimate - 3 days later, Mike and his crew were up in the tree's trimming away! My tree's look great and I will definitely use Baumann Tree for all my future tree needs.

Mr. Baumann called evening before his crew came; just 2 days after he came out to give estimate; which, fortunately was about a week earlier than his original planned date. He & his crew arrived mid-morning & were done with everything, incl clean-up of all trees & debris by 11:30 a.m. Baumann Tree service is professional, clean-cut & was very reliable on this job.
