This spring we pulled the mower out and found that it would not start, so logic has it; we called Porters where we purchased the mower to ask for assistance on what to do? The man that we spoke to, flat told us that they did not work on the mowers and take it to Sears, he was very rude! My husband loaded the mower up and took it to Porters to see if anyone might be able to show us if we just were not starting it right; as we have never had a mower like this one. Again we were told that they did not work on them and they did not even offer to see if it was simply something that we were doing wrong. They told us to take it to Sears! Logic would tell me that the store that you purchased the item from should be where you would take it back to, and they should help you out with any problems, but this was not the case. We spent several thousand dollars in this store when we moved to the lake, but I will never enter another Porters store again due to the rudeness and lack of professionalism from the staff at this one location. We did call Sears and explained the situation and we were told that this was not the first time they had a customer complain about buying a Craftsman from the Porter location, and then not getting any customer service when a problem came up with the product. We did indeed load the mower up and take it to Sears where they helped us out with the problem. I think that Sears should stop allowing Porters to sell their product if they are not going to give Customer Support, I never have had Home Depot, Lowes, or Menards treat me this way, and that is where I will be doing all my shopping for building supplies from now on.
Description of Work: Porters was selling Craftsman lawn mowers last year when we moved to the lake, and needed to have a self propelled mower to mow the hill on our property. They convinced us that this Craftsman would do the job and that it came with a 2-year guarantee; so we spent the $350.00 to purchase and used the mower two times last summer due to the drought we had.
