Weed Man - St. Louis MO

The grass in my front yard treated by Weed Man St. Louis is dead. Back yard treated by me is lush. It will cost me about $4,000 to resod my front yard. Even after complaining they charged me $90 for treating dead grass for 2 months. They are NOT lawn experts!

Portion of yard treated is gone. Dead. Was Zoysia. Will need to be re-sodded at great expense. To be fair, Weed Man sent someone out today to see what can be done. I will alter this review if my issue is resolved.

Technician was extremely friendly and knew exactly what he was doing

I saw someone performing an application of some liquid to my neighbor's yard, and their yard always looks so nice, so I figured this company was a quality professional. So I walked over and asked if he could give me a quote for my yard, since I had been having trouble with this one specific type of weed, nothing from the hardware store had killed it. He didn't even come look at my specific problem, even though I asked him to, he just gave me a phone number and a price. I trusted that he knew what it was from my description, and he specifically told me I could get one application of the appropriate weed killer, and they would not upsell me, as I told him I was worried about having chemicals on my lawn and did not want all the bells and whistles, I just wanted this one specific difficult vine weed gone. When I called to make an appointment, they told me that in order to effectively remove the weed, I would need monthly treatments all summer. My b******* meter should have gone off right then and there, but I was so desperate to get rid of this weed that it didn't, I trusted them and agreed. The people that came to do the treatments were not the people in the professional labeled trucks that I had seen at my neighbors' house, it was college kids in a beat up pickup with a rusty trailer filled with the same basic lawn care equipment I have in my garage, doing a half-a** job. I don't think they put down any weed killer at all, nothing so much as hinted at turning yellow or brown, and there must have been a heavy application of fertilizer, because the weeds blossomed and killed off all the regular grass, and were so thick they ruined my one year old $300 lawnmower. I called after 3 treatments and told them to stay off my grass, I did not like that they made my yard worse and ruined my mower, and did not ever want services from them again. They did skip the treatment I cancelled, but I wonder if that was because I padlocked my gate. Twice in the late summer/early fall they called me trying to arrange other types of services, and both times I told them in no uncertain terms that I did not like their services and did not want them to ever call me again. Today (11/21/15), I received a letter in the mail confirming services for next year that I supposedly made. In the letter it says that they will complete these services unless I cancel. I am wondering how this company is not getting the point? I will call ... again ... and tell them ... again ... in no uncertain terms that I do not EVER want their services or their phone calls. I am sure they are not listening, and am wondering what kind of fight I am going to have to deal with when they inevitably show up in the spring anyways, and throw some crap on my lawn and expect me to pay them for ruining all my careful work that I had to do trying to fix their mess. I think I'll put a padlock back on my gate, that way at least they can only ruin my front yard. I can't stress enough that I don't recommend this company to anyone, they are by far the slimiest company I have had to deal with in years.

Weeds and Crabgrass overran my yard. I watched the last application being applied in a "cowpath" fashion resulting in very, very poor coverage. When I called to cancel the service, I was told heavy rains during the summer, made the weeds difficult to control. Had I not seen the last application, I might have accepted it as a valid reason.

It is great. When I started with this Weed Man my lawn was mostly weeds. They are very helpful and take time to answer my questions. My lawn looks beautiful and I could not be happier.

They do a good job. The guys that do the applications and professional and knowledgable. They give us more info than any prior service we've used. We are very happy with their service.

They come out every 6 weeks. I don't generally see the staff, I just see the bill because they drop it off. The company is good. I would recommend them. They leave the area the way it was before they got there.

My yard looks better than it did when I used another company. Weed Man has addressed all my concerns with the yard. They come early in the morning and wake me up when putting the liquid treatment on lawn. They return my calls when I have issues and come back to take care of them. They are prompt and always show up on time.

They were fine. They have been more responsive than my prior fertilizing company has and seem to get better results too. Weed Man seems to have addressed everything that I wanted them to address just finely. It is about $45 a treatment for about 5300 square feet area of lawn. What stands out is that they wake me up every time that they come here. They arrive early in the morning, they park almost directly in front of my bedroom, and so I can hear their big compressor going on, pumping the solution out, which is probably not, what you want to hear that early. They always seem concerned. They call back if I call them for anything and make follow up calls even when I have not called them. They are slightly more expensive than what I would like but it is excellent for the quality and success of what they do. They have always shown up very quickly when I have asked them to do something. I intend on using them unless they don't hike their prices, like my previous company, which is why I switched because they wanted to up their prices by thirty percent.

Killed the weeds! Excellent results. Fertilized twice. Timing was excellent. Will use again. No Upselling. They just did a good job at a good price. Highly Recommend.

Not well in the sense that I've placed a purchase and have received no response to conduct the work.

All went very well. The Weed Man is very responsive, called me back within the hour and came out about a week later. He's been out twice now and the yard is green, weed-free and beautiful. Will definitely use again. At these prices, he is far less expensive than other's out there. We settled on a price that we could both be happy about and he kept his promise. I haven't received a "surprise" bill; all has gone according to exactly as he specified. He also hasn't tried to up-sell me on other products and services that I don't need and he hasn't called me for any reason. He accepts the job, shows up, and charges what he says he will. Easy and hassle-free!

I just needed the work done, the person who did it in the past was on Angie's List as well, he hadn't completed it. So I checked Angie's List and I saw the big deal so I got it immediately. I read the reviews that stated he was unresponsive, not the case with the Weed Man in my experience. He called back within a half hour, and came out in a week time to complete the first application. I do like how responsive he was to me. The works looks okay. I don't see any weeds popping out. The products he uses are working.

Overall my lawn recovered from the previous year when the moles and extreme temps destroyed parts of the lawn. My only complaint was the schedule. Since I travel alot, I asked for treatments to be done on Fridays so I could water them in. They came on Tues or Wed so the chemicals sat on my lawn for 10 days before watering in. I have decided to do my own treatments this year around my schedule and my lawn looks great.

The Weed Man has been providing fertilizer and weed control for my lawn for the last 2 or 3 seasons. I used one of the larger name brand lawn services, but that firm injured some of my trees and left large patches of bare spots on my lawn. Since I have used Weed Man services I have not experienced those same problems.

Set up a full season service and they have, so far, done exactly what they said they would do. They call before they come (so I can prepare my dogs and fence).

We've been very happy with Weed Man. As a result, we hire them year after year. We are moving soon and we hope to enlist them to take care of our new lawn. Great communication and reasonable price.

lawn was a total wreck, called them asked what they could do for it, they came and diagnosed it promised results in one season. and came thru. and has been getting better every year.

I have had Weedman for a year. My yard looks better than when I took care of it. I originally signed with them for every 6 weeks. After 4 weeks I came home and saw another sign in the yard. THey put down another application. I 1st thought they were going to charge me. It turned out it was a free application. That was a nice surprise. The yard looks great...

They were very prompt 2 days after the initial call for service. The grass greeted up within 4 days!!!!!! The yard looks great!

It was more or less put the application on collect and go. They didn't pay attention to the problem areas

stood right there and told him not to. I considered going out to confront him I was so angry -- but didn't think getting arrested for assaulting a p*** kid was worth it -- but it made me that mad. Another weed man from across the street came over as I was leaning out the door and the p*** kid was walking away....I think he thought I wanted to sign up or something and came over get the sale. I explained what the p*** had done. He said that they are supposed to leave the door hanger flyer no matter what per the owner. I said -- really? Even if I am standing here and tell him not to -- and he said yes.....INCREDIBLE!!! what a good business practice Weed Man owner. I can see your profits will soar given this business model. Believe me -- if I see any of my neighbors using Weed Man = I will encourage them to switch =-= and would never use you myself.

He is great! I have been through numerous other service providers that work on the lawn and The Weed Man has done a great job. The lawn is beautiful! I will remain with this company for any lawn services.
