just fine. The windows are guaranteed for life. One window developed condensation between the panes. We called in Feb 2015. They sent out a fellow who measured. He came back with the wrong sized window. Re-ordered. Not fixed yet (6/24/2015) Three times we were given the excuse the factory sent the wrong sized window. Still not resolved. What to do?

replacement windows

In December 2013 I contracted with Thomas Construction, now True Home Value, for four replacement windows in my home. I selected a Prairie Style Grid for the windows as I wanted something that I felt would go well with the house and be something different than what the rest of the neighborhood looked like. The promised delivery date for those windows was 6 weeks which would have been mid- to late January 214. The windows were delivered late in early February and I was told that was due to the extreme weather that winter and a change to their production plant. I accepted that explanation as I felt that was reasonable. When they arrived, there were two problems. 1st, the grids were so widely spaced from the edges that there was only a small square in the middle of the pane; made one feel like they were in jail. Even the installers didn't like the appearance and agreed it was not a Prairie style grid. They put the windows in anyway as the old windows had been removed prior to me seeing the grid until they were placed. The 2nd problem was that I had ordered full sized screens and they shipped half sized screens. Both issues noted and I was promised the glass to be redone with proper prairie style grids and delivery of full-sized screens. I was promised the replacement windows would be expedited. I was asked for pictures of the grids and a suggestion of the grid spacing so that they could have the windows made that would meet my expectations; there was dialogue at this time back and forth concerning this. Late April I was contacted that the replacement windows were ready. They came on May 2 with the replacement glass, which unfortunately had the exact grid pattern as the original ones in the windows and did not have the full-sized screens. Again excuses were made and said the factory messed up and didn't follow instructions on how to construct these windows. I AGAIN was promised they would expedite the manufacture of windows, but that I had to understand that this was the height of their busiest season and it might take a while to get the correct glass. They requested that I sign all papers saying the windows were finished; I refused. In June they completed the financing paperwork without my final signature and I received a bill for windows that were not correct. I asked how could they do that since I had not received what I ordered; I was missing the screens and the grids were still wrong. They said delivery had occurred and this was no a 'maintenance' or service issue. In July, they arrived with replacement glass with grids I could accept and the full sized screens. Unfortunately, one section of the windows had a crack (1/2 inch) radiating from the side of the inside glass. I was assured they could get this replaced quickly and correctly. They promised this one pane could be expedited. I did sign the final delivery papers at this time. Early September they brought a replacement glass; the grid pattern did not match the grid pattern of the other windows. This was blamed on the factory. This time they took extensive measurements and pictures of the grids. I was promised a new one would be made and expedited. This time they took extensive measurements and pictures of the grids. I was also promised that since this has been such a major inconvenience and the issue not resolved, that Thomas (THV) would make payments on the window financing. In December 2014, they came with the replacement window with what was to match the grid. The grids did not match, they were off slightly and would have been noticeable that the two window sections did not match. The service person also noted that the crack had increased to 1 inch. Again measurements and pictures were taken and I again was promised this issue would be expedited. As of April 27th, I have not received any communication since the service person left in December with the window pane that was not correct. all so I called and left a message. They have also NOT paid anything towards the financing. The crack in the window is now 1 1/2". When they call back I will be expecting more excuses about the factory manufacture of the replacement windows being delayed and promises they will not keep. I have no confidence this issue will be resolved any time soon.
