Above the Rest

Called provider twice and left message on voice mail. They never replied to either call. Will not recommend nor use their service in the future. I want my money back for the service I did not receive.

They were courteous and professional. I would use them again.

Fine. Easy to schedule, punctual, professional.

Had a difficult time getting in contact with owner after purchasing a deal from Angie's List. Then, they wanted additional money to remove gutter guards. He finally agreed to do it for no additional money. They did a fine job after all was agreed upon.

They worked with us with scheduling the deal and were very polite. I have called them since June to clean the tracks in the window slides. When we spoke with them previously we did the tracks. They cleaned the glass great, but the frames where the dirt collects were not very clean. When we called he told us that he would call us when he is scheduled to be in the Palatine area. We appreciate that he would come back and clean the tracks too.

They were friendly and on time. The price was right, and they bent over backward to make us happy. We were very pleased and we will certainly use them again. When we agreed on the price for extra window washing they stood by the agreement of the cost.

Above the Rest cleaned double-hung windows in under 2 hours, quick, clean and professional. I will definitely use Shawn again.

They were great. A supervisor comes with the window cleaner and makes sure everything is OK and the estimated price is correct. Then he left and the cleaner did his job. It took about an hour and a half for 14 windows (inside and out). The cleaner got up on a ladder ro reach the windows outside, even though my windows fold down so you can clean them from inside. The fact that they do the winow sills is a nice touch. The supervisore comes back at the end of the job to make sure everything is to your satisfaction.

We initially struggled to agree on & stick to a timeframe to perform the service. But once they completed the job it was done well. Shawn Ward & his crew were courteous and respectful of my home.

Shawn and his helper came out when he said they would, and cleaned all our windows until they literally sparkled. Shawn was very professional to deal with, addressed some concerns that I had with the cleaning solution on our siding, and in general just did a marvelous job. I will use him again in the future.

Very pleasant to deal with. Everyone worked hard and did not rush the job. Windows were quite dirty and looked much better after cleaning. I would use this company again.

The crew showed up on time, and the owner was very good to work with. He had lots of problems with his crew being thorough and efficient so had to sometimes take over and show them how to do a better job. Then the crew forgot to tighten up screens and didn't do the perfect job of washing. I sympathized with the owner, but I'd be hesitant to use this service again, not knowing what the crew would be like.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went very well. They charged an additional $15 because I have a bi-level house even though the ad said up to 2 stories. It was a straightforward process.

It went well, some streaks on my tall living room windows, but over all good job. The owner really did his best to make sure we were happy. I had to pay a little extra because I did not realize how he calculated the price per pane. I stioll think it was afair price.

When I purchased this big deal the notification said that the provider would contact me within a few days. It took weeks to get contacted. The excuse was that their internet was down for a week. Perhaps they could've gone to Starbucks or picked up the phone? When they arrived they seemed surprised by how big my condo is, even though they had a window count prior to getting here. I think from there they were just in a big hurry to get things done and get on to the next job. There are issues with my windows caused by the sealer the tuckpointer used so they wanted to be sure I understood why they couldn't remove those spots. I was frustrated by that, but I understand that they weren't going to spend the extra time to remove those spots. Regardless, the windows that didn't have the spots are streaky and I need to rewash them. There's no excuse for streaky windows. They used my bathtub to fill their buckets and left dirt in the tub and on the floor. There were fingerprint smudges on virtually all of my window molding and dirt on the inside sills from where they opened the windows and removed the screens. One guy put about 6 screens in backwards so I had to look through the whole house to make sure that they fixed all of the ones he put back in wrong. These guys were super nice and I think their intentions were good, but they seemed to be in a big hurry and a little panicked that I was going to fault them for not being able to clean the spots from the sealer off the windows. While that was frustrating, I understood. But I did expect the windows that didn't have the sealer spots to be streak-free and I certainly didn't expect to have to wipe their fingerprint smudges off of all of the molding.

Everything was very smooth. They arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again.

The good: real professionals The bad: we were told that they would come "the day we are available, we don't know when yet." Listen, if I have paid for the service already, the least you could do is tell me when you're coming. Overall, we were happy with the service, though.

We had several missed appointments - some because of weather - some other reasons. We also had some mis-communication about when to come when we would be there; however, we finally got together and he did a first rate job on the windows.

They did a gutter cleaning of our house. Missed a bunch of leaves and sticks on top of a short flat roof, which would have been nice if they had cleaned that too.

They arrived as promised right on time to the minute. They explained the service thoroughly and what the extra costs would be. I was a little surprised about the extra cost because of what I think is unclear wording in the terms of the deal (I was not aware that they count inside + outside as TWO pieces of glass), but oh well. In the end it was still a superb deal. The entire team was very friendly and helpful and did the MOST fantastic window cleaning job I have ever gotten. I've paid way more in the past for much quicker jobs. These guys work hard and are extremely DETAILED!! I will definitely be hiring them again when it's time for another cleaning!

There was a problem with the scheduling of the job to be done do to other commitments and weather, but once they arrived Shawn and his crew did a great job. Shawn was very professional and guided his crew well. I would recommend his services to others. Thanks Above the Rest!

He took forever to come and do it because of the weather. When I bought it, the weather got bad. We can't do window cleaning in the cold weather. He did a good job on the windows. He didn’t do a great job on the window sills. He was getting short on time; he had to be somewhere. So he started to rush towards the end to get out of here. Some of the windows sills he didn’t clean really well. The big deal was $89. It was $30 more because he did some additional windows for me. He was pretty nice about it because I was frustrated with him that it took so long to get him out here. It wasn’t all his fault; the weather was a big part of it. He did give me extra windows because of that. So I only had pay him $30 more, which was pretty fair. My only complaint was that he was kind of rushing towards the end. He didn’t get the window sills as clean as he could have. The window sills weren't so great. With regard to punctuality, they were pretty on time when they finally got here.

It turned out good. There were extra charges. They were very friendly.

It went great. Instead of washing 13 windows for $89.00, Shawn washed the outside of 26 windows for me. I suggested it and Shawn agreed immediately. I was well pleased with the transaction

Abover the Rest did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them. Shawn was very responsive, prompt and professional. They arrived right on time and did a great job with the windows. Very reasonably priced for the size of our building. They were, unfortunately, unable to reach some of the highest windows but that is my only complaint. We will definitely use them again -- and look for a way to get those few remaining windows.
