The job went. well. The deck looks muck better.

A big headache and very inconvenient. This was a purchase of a Big Deal in March. I called and Shawn set an appointment for the morning. The team showed up at 3 p.m. I was supervising another contractor at that time. Shawn was 5 hours late and I was then unavailable. Also, Shawn told me he was going to take out the screens and brush them off inside the apartment! Why would anyone put all that dirt inside instead of taking the screens outside? To me it sounded like he didn't know what he was doing! After a discussion, Shawn did agree to take the screens outside to clean them. Several times I tried to make another appointment and could never get one as Shawn was always busy when I could be home. Finally, in August we made an appointment. So now it was 5 months after purchasing the Big Deal. At 6 p.m. the night before they were to come to clean my windows, Shawn calls and says he has to cancel!! His excuse: he is out of town and the one person who works for him has had a death in the family. One of the most unprofessional companies I have found on Angie's List. I wonder how he got onto Angie's List in the first place. I did get a refund of my $89 through Angie's List. But I doubt I will ever purchase a Big Deal again. Not worth the aggravation.

Went well. Came out power is ashes the deck but it took a few weeks for them to come back and seal the deck. Though the square footage covered is noted it did not cover steps so that was an extra charge that I was surprised by.

The service call went extremely well.

When finally completed the work was fine but communication and delays during the process were unacceptable.

The windows were fabulous and stayed that way for a long time. The screens were rinsed off but not what I would have considered clean. Nothing was done between the screens and windows with the frame and sill. In addition I had to go around cleaning up drops of dirty water that were on the inside sills (which I had not expected to be done).

Shawn was not proactive in setting up an appointment. When I called, he did call back soon after. He scheduled an appointment to do view our deck, but then did not show up. I called him and he again responded very soon after to schedule another appointment, which he kept. We had to reschedule a couple more times because of rain in the forecast. I had to reach out to him the first time. The second time he reached out to me via email. The deck was finally power washed and painted about 3 months after being scheduled. There were a few spots that were missed when painting the deck. He left paint for us to do the touch ups after it had dried, because he couldn't reach the spots he had missed while the paint was wet. He seemed like a very nice guy, but I wasn't completely happy with the communication or the final work. However, the price for the work was very good.

After an initial glitch with regards to a water source (my faucets would not connect to their hose) things went smoothly.

Perfectly, they showed up early and got the work and clean up done efficiently.

I was not impressed. It took about 2 weeks to get it scheduled. He showed up and did an assessment. It did not seem quite as it was billed. He just came and did a power washing of the deck. He did not do anything as of true repair work or anything. He said I would have to be quoted additional cost for that repair work to be done. It ended up being just a lot of money for a powerwashing that I could have done on my own. I would not recommend them for the future. There was supposed to be some repair work done as well as some staining work. Because we wanted to use a different kind of stain than what he was recommending, he was going to have to charge us extra to do that kind of staining versus the kind that he would typically do. It seemed like a little bit of bait and switch. They tried to quote me some additional cost and things. I said that we were not going to pay it and were not interested in any additional work. In the future, they could provide clear direction in what they are providing in the actual write up. Being more responsive in trying to set up the time to meet. When they did scheduled it, they up showed up but late.

a previously unknown problem with the rooftop water supply prevented the intended power wash, bush the provider still succeeded in applying new sealant.

3 weeks after paid, had to contact AL because was never contacted. First appt was canceled, never responded about rescheduling the days, after contacted again said he would message me later. Days later still hadnt heard a peep. its been over a month since paid for the service so Angies List is now finding me a replacement. Tried giving benefit of the doubt, but Above the rest is NOT reliable!

Everything went fine. I talked to Shawn and sent him a picture of our deck and he gave me a quote. I called him back later that day to arrange a time to have the work done. We scheduled the 2 days it would take to come about a week in advance. I really appreciated that he was able to come out within a week. He came out the scheduled days and did the job. Communication was great, he called to let me know that he was running late for one of the days. Very satisfied with his work, we hadn't done anything to our deck for years, looks great now and have it waterproofed too.

The arrived on time to power wash the deck and did not nail any of the stairs or railings. After the power wash I was told they had to come back with 24 hours to allow the deck to dry completely before staining. After many emails and calls, they did come back 6 days later to complete the job. During this 6 days my deck went unprotected and was subjected to harsh sun and heat causing the wood to crack, break and bend. When the owner came to "stain" the deck he said I should take the damaged boards to Home Depot for replacement. Then he applied a small amount of Thompson Water Seal (which took all of 10 min) and they left hoping for a positive review.

I payed more because my deck was bigger than the space the deal covered. It was fine the weather was bad, so we had a lot of rain delays. The work was fine. It was frustrating because of the rescheduling because of the weather. I did not like the Angie's List add because I had to pay more because my deck was bigger than what was covered thru the deal.

Did not indicate a sense of priority or motivation to do this job. I sensed it was not worth their time to make the trip to our home. Numerous cancellations due to various questionable reasons. After almost two months, I called Angie's List and requested a refund.

Lack of professionalism by having numerous excuses on why they couldn't make it. Lack of responsiveness.

Very punctual and professional. Would hire them again.

Very well. The young men that completed the job were professional and hard-working.

This is the second time I hired Above the Rest. I am very please with the work perform by Lorenzo and Rashard. They arrived on time and performed the work in a timely manner. They were very professional.

This provider needed constant pushing to complete the job. While the work performed is good, I would not recommend or hire them again.

Some how the work kept on getting delayed for quite some time and needed quite a bit of following up to get done.

Great! I am happy with the work and would hire again.
