About us

Cedarbrook Garden Center & Landscaping LLC has 3-5 garden center employees depending on the season. The landscaping department maintains a staff of 3-4 employees. We occasionally sub-contract the services of an excavator. Landscaping billing procedure is typically a percentage down for materials; progress payments if applicable; balance due upon completion. Estimates are always free of charge. Detailed landscape drawings may require a fee but any amount paid would be applied to the cost of the project if accepted by the customer. Thank you for the somewhat positive review. We were troubled with the "c" rating on punctuality and responsiveness. The past summer was difficult on many people in Southwest Missouri as we had several record rain systems that caused extensive water run-off damage. This was the case on this particular job with damage occurring after every heavy rain that created ruts in the lawn in the same place after every heavy rain. We cannot be held responsible for the lack of storm water control in the subdivision. We did, however, show up and repair the damage at no additional charge. We also over seeded the lawn at no additional charge. There were some problems with "water grass" coming up but that couldn't be avoided with the tremendous amount of rain last summer. Overall, I believe we did our best under the circumstances presented by Mother Nature.

Description of Work: Melissa came to our home and took measurements for the project in June (or May) but never contacted me afterwards. I stopped by several times and was told I would be contacted, but never was.

I apologize for not being able to provide you with an estimate during our peak season. I should have contacted you to let you know how far out we were with our schedule. There is only so much time during the day and evening to get all of our work completed and we are not in a position to just hire more people to pick up the slack. Once again, I am sorry for my lack of communication.

I regret that we were too busy last summer to provide you with an estimate. Your request came during our peak season. We are a very small company and there is a limit to how much can be accomplished during the day. Between the landscaping and the garden center, my partner and I were averaging over 85 hours a week in order to cover the demands of the business during the peak season. Our employees were also working overtime so that we could try to keep up. I apologize that I didn't call to let you know we couldn't get an estimate ready in a reasonable amount of time. I hope you were able to find another company to take care of your landscaping needs.

They did an excellent job. A lady owns the place, and I do recommend them. They did everything they said they were going to do. They did have to raise the price for things that had to be done, but I understood that, and the job that they did was excellent.
Description of Work: I had major landscaping done. My wife bought plants from them, and then she planted them.

She had purchased plants from our nursery and also had plants that she had purchased from others that she wanted to use in the new landscaping. She had a vision of how her landscape beds would look and we tried our best to create them for her. I am pleased that they are still happy with their landscaping 2 years later!

We hired them last year to do several planter boxes for us, and to design and landscape a large area with a water fountain. Great job. They were easy to work with, they brought extra plants to pick from to my home. We are from the west coast and not familiar with plants here, and I wanted the yard to look nice during the winter months and yet have some color during Spring and fall. I am very happy with the results. We had them return this Sept. to work on the back yard. Melissa the owner gave me instructions on how to maintain the yard, and is very helpful when I call with a question. We had several landscapers look at our job, but we know we made the right choice.

Thank you for your great review! It was a pleasure working with [member name removed]. We have completed a couple of smaller additional jobs for them after the initial project was completed a couple of years ago. They had the most beautiful setting with which to work. We do find it helps to take an assortment of plants to the jobsite in addition to the ones shown on the landscape plan. This way the plant placement/selection can be adjusted so that it meets their expectations. How the design looks on paper can be different from how it looks in person. It is much more helpful for the homeowner to have input during the course of the installation so that the finished project is what they envisioned. I am glad they are still happy with their landscaping and look forward to working with them again.
