Custom Christmas Lighting

Custom christmas lighting bid off of our blueprint and elevations. We agreed on a price and paid for the services. We found out after install the owner elected to charge our credit card additional 50%. After we noticed it on our credit card statement we contacted custom christmas lighting. They elected to state they had the right to charge because it took more lights some how. They could not find a real answer when I reminded them about the blue print. Instead the owner started to be on vacation every time we called. They elected to also keep our lights that they charged us 150% for. I couldn't imagine charging a credit card additional money because you have their information. A very dirty move. I have tons of emails to back everything up if the owner tries to argue.

Custom Christmas Lighting has been installing lights on our house for what will be 6 seasons this year. They are efficient and house always looks festive around the holidays. When there is an issue, a quick visit to the website and completing a ticket fixes whatever is needed. We look forward to this time of year and Custom Christmas Lighting plays a big role in getting us into the Holiday spirit.

Install was done ahead of the date promised. A couple of lights were burned out on the first date and one bulb was missing following the install. The price seemed a bit on the high side and it was odd that they quoted a range of price but then charged the high end of the range before the install was done which was not what was originally communicated.

Great. The crew does their work efficiently. All I have to do is plug them in.

I have used Custom Christmas Lighting for the past 3 years and just scheduled them again for the upcoming holidays. They always do quality work in a timely manner, even during the extremely busy holiday season. The first year I used them I had a small problem with a couple of lights, and they responded to fix the problem within a couple of days in December. I especially like the way they store my lights each year so that I don't have to! Very professional organization I recommend without hesitation to friends and neighbors!!

Custom Christmas lighting was very professional. They showed up on time, installed the lights. All lights worked with no issues. They were very courteous when working on the bid for the house. They took lights down in a timely fashion, and we love how they stored them for us all year. Scheduling the install has been even smoother, with an added discount for scheduling early in the season.

Custom Christmas Lightning has to be one of the most efficient companies I have ever worked with. They provide a quality product, install the lights on your home and show back up and take them down, plus they store them for you. This is my second year I only had to place one call last year, and it was like magic, my house looked perfect ! Looking forward to this year, great company to work with!

The lights were lovely but when they came to remove them they broke a cast stone birdbath and didn't even bother to notify us. I was at home at the time. They left clips all over the gutters and the ground. When we emailed the owner on 1/24 regarding damages and clean up of the birdbath and clips he offered only $20 dollars off next years installation for a $150 bird bath and $40 off if we found someone ourselves to haul off the birdbath. To date, the mess is still there. The owner states his foreman said the birdbath was cracked, it was not. After numerous emails he is now offering half the price of the birdbath which will do us no good as we would not use this company again.

I have used custom Christmas lighting several times and want to state their staff is professional, Installed lights when scheduled. Once blubs on lights did not work and within the same week they cam back out to replace the burned out bulbs

Initially a rough start but Rick followed up and went the extra mile to make it right. We look forward to using them again next year.

This is our third Holiday season using this company. The office personal and technicians are very accommodating. We will continue to use this company in the future and probably add more Holiday lights!

They were awesome! They always come on time and whenever we have any issues with the lights they are here to fix them quickly. We have used them for 3 years now. Love that they store the lights as well.

Began with a friendly phone call, went down hill from there. Installation was sloppy and they left a mess of broken bulbs on driveway. I phoned the office to complain and they said they would talk with crew. When the crew came to remove the lights - more like yank the lights of my roof- they left at least another 6 broken bulbs on driveway and numerous broken plastic hangers on roof line and in yard. To top it off, they did not live up to their promises made on their website of leaving lights in a free tote for you for storage. Called office to inquire and complain, was again promised a tote to be delivered within a week, and you guessed, never heard from them again. Please take my advice and DO NOT spend your hard earned money with this so called business. You will be EXTREMELY disappointed with the overall poor service and lack of professionalism!

We've used this company for four years to hang and maintain our Christmas lights but this year we received a phone call saying they wouldn't show without advance payment. Ok, didn't like the idea of paying a month in advance for Christmas lights but we stuck with them. Then they didn't show at the originally scheduled time, rescheduled they didn't show a second time. When they did finally show up, unannounced and four days late, they threw the lights up in 10 minutes and left. When we went outside to look at the work and found a bulb was discolored and there was an empty socket (no bulb at all). Called the office (recording says they close at 4 not 5 as stated on their profile) and got no response. I tired going to the website where I found a message saying they were backlogged and wouldn't be fixing anything until 12/11, nearly two weeks later. I left another request for follow up on the website, still no response. They were always expensive but until last year had provided good service. To summarize: -Expensive $250 just to put lights up (first year was $400 included purchase of lights) which you must pay in advance. -Not prompt. -Poor quality, work was incomplete. -Unprofessional, not a call or even an email to follow up on my issues. Sorry to say we are extremely disappointed and will never use them again.

It's great, I set up the date and when I am home from work the lights are hung. So much easier than putting them up ourselves.

Received an e-mail from the company with a plausible explanation of what might have happened. I appreciated the follow up and the invitation to request a quote for next year. I believe we might have a good chance to do business. Good response on their part and things might work out in the future.

I called Dec. 2, day before installation to confirm the cost as I was preparing the check. Placed on hold to "find my file". Finally returned to ask the spelling of my last name...hold again....longer this time. She returned to say the "other girl" had taken my order and was on the phone and they'd have to call me back as she must have my file. I gave my number. 2 hours, no call. I called back. Got the "other girl" this time. I told her my name and asked if they had found my file. She said "oh yes someone was supposed to call you, hold on". 5 minutes. Original girl came to the phone and asked if I lived in Olathe as she couldn't find my file to give me a quote. I asked "well, if you can't find my file, how do you know what I ordered or where I live, etc.?". She said, "Oh I will need all that from you again. Now, what color lights did you want?". I told her to forget it. Now it's Dec. 2 and I have no lights. No apology, nothing...couldn't even call me back, I had to call them!! Do not use this company.

This is the second year we have used this provider for installing Christmas lights. They did a good job on installation both years; exactly as contracted at reasonable price, quickly installed. No problems with the lights. But again, as last year, it's a hassle to get the lights removed from the house. Last year it took a couple of phone calls and emails. We live in a neighborhood with covenants that require the lights be removed by middle of January. It's now January 17, and when I called Custom Christmas Lighting, there is only a recorded message stating that they're unavailable til Feb. 1, their crews are working to remove the Christmas lights, and hopefully they'll be done by end of January. Not much of an assurance it will get done in time. There are other installers in our area, and I'll be looking at them next year. It's not worth it to have to worry about half the job not getting done. I really dislike leaving negative reviews. If it weren't for the removal problem we would have continued to use them.

We contacted this company mid October and asked if it was too late to have their Holiday services. They indicted they would be able to put up the light display right after Thanksgiving. To our pleasant surprise they were up before the Holiday. The installers were extremely pleasant and efficient. We were told to expect them back for take down no later than mid January. Today is the 17th of January...perfect. We are so pleased with this company we are looking forward to expanding the lights for Christmas 2014.

The staff are very friendly and answered all my questions. I definitely recommend them for your christmas light installation needs.

The actual cost ended up being way more expensive than they orginally quoted us. I wasn't able to prove the inital quote, so I had to pay it. The price seems very steep for about 20 - 30 minutes of work. The quality of the lights are very good though. The workers were good and prompt.

The entire process was good! However, we already have several bulbs that are burnt out. Not sure if they were new when put up....They are supposed to return in early January to take down the lights. Next year the price is to be lower because we now "own" the lights. Since this is the first year that we have used this company, I am hesitant to give them a full rating. First impressions were really positive!

basically we wanted to switch from C9 translucent bulbs to the more old fashioned ceramic ones and would not do it unless we agreed to a $50 service call to replace burned out bulbs. They did ok last year but we just did not like the translucent bulbs. So, I went and picked up the box of string lights and quickly found a company who switched out the bulbs and hung for less money.

Wonderfully, the only comments I had was that they came to the door and told me they were there because I all of a sudden heard someone on my roof and had to check it out. Also, the Forman smoked, i dont think some customers would like that. other than that they were quick, and the lights looked so great.
