Response from Robert Lay Contracting Inc
We met this gentleman through an Angie's List promotion whereby you would have access to a general contractor to pick their brain about a single remodeling project. We had a meeting in 2011, and met for over an hour and a half. In that time we toured his home and he outlined several ambitious projects for the home. From the Angie's List promotion, I told him that I would write up a report. The report would have bullet-points concerning important information on his several remodel projects, including time lines and basic tasks for the remodel. I asked him to think about the various remodeling ideas he proposed and provide me a basic outline of his tastes and thoughts. Throughout the meeting, the homeowner continued to pepper me with questions about what else is in it for him for buying this promotion from Angie's list. I told him I am going to provide a detailed report for all the projects he had in mind so that he can use to help with his remodeling goals, like the promotion stated. I tried for over 2 weeks to follow up with the gentleman, but never heard back from him. He ignored repeated phone calls and I even went by his house when I was in the neighborhood for other work, all to no avail. I have not heard from this gentleman since the meeting in 2011. For reasons known only to this gentleman, three years later he posted a negative review about my company. I sincerely wanted to help him out and perhaps turn our meeting into work for our company.
