We were so impressed and thrilled with the services provided by Pure Home Design. David’s expertise and insight helped up keep the historic charm of our 120 year old home but also allowed us to add the modern touch that we desired. We never realized the true potential of our home and David did just that. We would highly recommend Pure Home Design.

David Schneider of Pure Home Design was the best. He designed our kitchen and was involved in all decisions regarding appliances, flooring, lighting etc. David was on site everyday to oversee the work. His attention to detail is amazing. We were very pleased with Pure Home and have used them for other projects. Plus David is a fun person.

The entire process was easy and painless! This project has been overwhelming but thanks to the detailed designs, we have a clear understanding of the completed space. The process started when David met me at the home to look at the entire structure. He was thorough and energetic about the conversation. In addition, he spent quality time understanding our family's lifestyle, interests and needs for the space. From there he engaged his partner to come over and measure and photograph the space for the drawings. Upon the completion of the drawings we spoke over the phone about the flow of the space, the changes we needed and how best to execute the final design. David turned over the final design in a matter of weeks from start to finish so we could engage with our contractors and engineers. Following the completion of the kitchen design David completed a lighting plan as well. I was able to give this to our electricians and keep the project on track while ensuring clear direction and accountability for work. Since he did the original layout, this additional request was handled quickly and thoughtfully as well. There were few additional highlights in this experience: - David has a VERY thorough client assessment document. The intent is to understand how we live but also our values which can be translated in the design and material selection. It allowed us to have good conversations about different aspects of the home and the project. - David has a wealth of information about building considerations for environmental and health considerations. While we didn't set out to build a "green" kitchen, I did use his advise for conversations with other contractors and overall building material selections. - David was very responsive. It should be noted that he works between MO and CA but I did not encounter any problems. We communicated via email, phone and text to stay in touch. - David's vision for the space was truly a highlight. We were so conditioned to assume how best to use the space but David brought new ideas forward which transformed the layout and allowed us to get everything we wanted with no trade offs. That alone was thrilling!

We did a major rehab of our home which was built in 1898. After taking out a dining room wall and lots of plaster we had no idea how to get the dream kitchen we wanted. Schneider Kennedy Designs made all of this possible. David Schneider came into our home and was able to visualize and plan out exactly what we wanted and much more. He took a poorly designed space and turned it into a highly functional kitchen. We wanted a modern design and David made it possible with ease. He knows exactly what questions to ask and there is no detail too big or small that isn't addressed. I would highly recommend Schneider Kennedy Designs, their expertise is beyond compare.

Schneider Kennedy Designs is a great asset to our family! SKD helped us through multiple remodeling projects by drawing plans, listening to our concerns and desires, and guiding us through the selection of materials and appliances. SKD was also an excellent source for great contractors that are professional and dependable. David has an amazing ability to visualize the look and style that we wanted to create in our home even without us providing pictures or samples of what we wanted our home to look like. SKD meet and exceeded our expectations in so many ways and we look forward to working with them on our next project in our 100+ year old home.

The meeting with David was exceptional. I would recommend him for many different reasons. First, David is a leader in the green design industry. He has extensive knowledge regarding the most healthy and environmentally-friendly materials to work with as well as the most healthy and environmentally-friendly installation processes. He has a vast network of professionals to recommend for various kinds of home improvement projects. David is very responsive, professional and trustworthy. In addition to these great qualities, David came up with a kitchen redesign that enables us to maximize space but not start from scratch - something other professionals have not been able to do ;-) !

David Schneider did a fantastic job working with us to select colors for painting our home. He did a great job making sure both my wife and myself were apart of the process.

I had been struggling with how to set up and build out our new house. After contacting David, we completed the in-depth survey that other reviews have mentioned. When David came in, he immediately had ideas and thoughts about the various areas we wanted to discuss. It was the best three hours and best money I spent on my new house to date. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting with David (although he doesn't sit much - he's up and pointing at things and making drawings!) and discussing design ideas. He has a wealth of knowledge about homes and design and construction. Another thing I liked was he thinks about what goes into creating an area, such as construction materials and how that can impact the health of your family.

Found out their suggestions wouldn't work in our space, did not proceed further.

Schneider had no problem helping me and giving me advice without charging me. I was very happy that they were willing to help me.

I was very pleased with the service. I had never hired a designer before, and I was very concerned that I would be steered to high end rugs and encouraged to buy new furniture. David made me feel very comfortable, even though I was not a high dollar client, I was treated as if I were highest priority. He made great suggestions on placement and use of space. I will certainly use their services again. I was charged a percentage on the cost of the rug- not an upfront payment

I should first start by saying that I've never used an Interior Designer and obviously should have done my homework as to what a consultation would include. David sent me a questionnaire that I filled out in detail and thought it great that he really seemed to want to know my ideas/personality. As it was, he didn't mention my answers to the questionnaire at all. Maybe they don't come in to play until after his design services are utilized(?). After about 2 hours consult (which cost $262.50), he told me that he could send some drawings that would cost approximately $300-$350. After considering the costs involved with the entire project as well as other expenses we will be incurring (window replacement), I phoned David to inform him that, unfortunately, the additional costs involved with his company would not fit into my budget. Also, if he had read my questionnaire, I indicated that I was only interested in a consultation at this time. He seemed very offended that I declined his design services, and went on to lecture me about the importance of hiring a designer before contacting a contractor to perform the actual work. When I asked him if he could at least recommend some contractors, he reluctantly told me that he would give my name and number to someone who might be able to assist. He never gave me any names or phone numbers to contact myself. I'm not sure why he took offense to this when I clearly stated that it was only due to budget reasons. David seems to be an extremely talented designer, and if money were no object, I would most likely have utilized his services. Perhaps I bruised an artistic ego? In the end, I found a building contractor through a reference from a coworker and am extremely pleased! He came to my house and seemed to know exactly what I was looking for, and sent sketches with pricing and even gave recommendations that I hadn't thought of initially. My recommendation....do your homework, ask questions before hiring anyone and use personal recommendations whenever possible! After reading this provider's response, I feel the need to clarify...I NEVER stated I was dissatisfied with the ideas discussed. I only declined the services for budget reasons. Again, I am confused as to why this designer was offended. Only (1) contractor was interested in my job because I live in Oakville which is too far? I guess it's a good thing I didn't pursue this service. I never heard from the (1) either. Perhaps you should add that you only do business with people who live in affluent areas of West County.

This project is still ongoing. Very pleased with the results so far.

From the beginning, I feel David and his team has been very professional and detail oriented. His communication has been timely and kept things moving along at an appropriate pace. He did a nice job of assessing my daughter's likes/dislikes and made major improvements to her room. She loves it! He also strikes a great balance between offering advice and allowing me to make my own choices on things. David's services are not inexpensive, but I feel the value is well worth it for the effort he puts in and for the things he has brought to me so far. I would highly recommend his services!

David Schneider met with us several times to help us achieve our desired results. He was flexible with meeting us due to our demanding work schedules. He quickly gained our full confidence with his skills, ability and experience. Through his visits he helped us select paint colors, carpet colors, and area rug colors and styles. Just today he assisted us with selecting a custom rug for our breakfast room. The result is a perfect color scheme for our entire home, meeting our desires and tastes. We are extemely pleased with Schneider Kennedy Design, and would definitely recommend them.

My wife and I were having a really difficult time figuring out where to begin doing updates to our home and deciding what would be most cost effective. I decided to ask for help and found thus listing on Angies list. From the moment David started talking we felt more at ease with or project plans. He expertly guided to some difficult but relief inducing decisions and gave and open ended offer for his assistance for the rest of the project process, further putting our minds at ease. After the consult just before he left he promised to email us a outline of what we had discussed and a list of people who could help us with the work we planned to do. He made good on his promise and and also followed up to ensure we were making good progress. I contacted David several months after we initially spoke and he remembered us right away...a testemant to his professionalism and care for his customers. Easiest recommendation I have ever made...go with this guy you will not regret it.

When we first contacted David, he emailed us a thorough questionnaire that took a bit of time to fill out, but was worth the time as it allowed him to come into our house and understand not only what we wanted but how much we wanted to budget for it. Our main project was to remodel/update both the master bath and our guest bathroom. He was very knowledgeable not only about appropriate materials and labor that would fit our budget, but also about structural information within the house: while he was here, he found an active leak coming from our shower. He made lots of very specific suggestions for both bathrooms, and gave me an appropriate estimate that was close to our original budget. In hindsight, I would have brought a notepad with me or some recording device to ensure that I got down everything he said, though I did ask him to send us everything we discussed by email, so we should be getting that soon. In addition to the bathroom discussion, he gave feedback about easy things to improve the aesthetics in the rest of the house. He went room by room in our main living area and provided suggestions for cheap, easy DIY improvements, or for future remodeling projects. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering a major remodeling project. He has great ideas that will fit any budget!

David, the proprietor of the company, did almost all of the contact himself. I hired him to create some window treatments in my loft apartment - mainly because there was too much light flooding in at night and early morning. He carefully measured all of the windows, then ordered custom-fitted shades. I also asked him to create some drapes in the master bedroom to create a more finished, luxurious appearance. The service turned out excellent. It was a bit pricier than I had expected, but I must chalk some of that up to my own lack of experience in home decorating. I could have come in much cheaper, but I would not have been able to get custom fitted - the fit would have been much less appealing. There was one minor issue - the company closed for 2 weeks over the holidays. I don't mind that they closed, they just didn't tell me that they would be closed and not responding to customers. But David was very apologetic and worked hard to keep the project on time for the remainder of the experience. I would gladly hire them again!

It went very well, everything fell into place perfectly and it turned out simply gorgeous. David covered every aspect of the design thoroughly - bringing up things I'd have never thought of - and making suggestions when appropriate or requested. He took me to suppliers to choose the cabinetry, granite countertops, appliances, fixtures, etc. He oversaw the contractor who was doing the work and made sure that the construction was being done correctly, and that the electrician and plumber were doing their job properly. He understood my need to keep things within my budget and sought alternatives to do so. In addition, the completion of the project was made within the timeframe anticipated. I was very happy to work with David/Schneider Kennedy and very happy with the outcome. I had previously used Schneider/Kennedy to remodel two bathrooms and was very pleased with those projects which prompted me to use them again for the kitchen. Everyone who was familiar with my old kitchen was just astounded when they saw the new one! Compliments galore!

I am absolutely thrilled with the new look of my home. I contacted David Schneider at Schneider Kennedy Design because I read a positive review on the company on Angie's list. The first thing he wanted me to do was to complete a questionnaire so he could better help me to get the finished product I was looking for. I was impressed with his incredible ability to "see" the finished product even at the beginning stages of planning. He guided me through each step of the design process, always sharing with me the features of products that should be considered to increase the quality and those that I could do without. If something was pushing the limit of my budget, he always gave me alternatives and made it clear what the advantages and disadvantages were. David was always aware of my budget and my likes and dislikes. Following the design portion of the project, I chose to have David continue on the project and obtain estimates for all the work. I was very satisfied with the quality of work that was done by the companies hired. The most impressive part of my project is my kitchen cabinetry. The woodwork, hinges, drawer slides, etc. are excellent quality. Just looking at the cabinetry leaves no doubt that these are leaps and bounds beyond any kind of standard cabinets. I feel the cost was fair for the quality of these custom cabinets. I also had the cabinet builder build a custom table base for me. At no time did I ever question my choice of Schneider Kennedy Design. I feel the design fees were very fair. I wholeheartedly endorse Schneider Kennedy Design and I highly recommend this company.

He initially came to the house at the wrong time. The meeting had been rescheduled and it didn't get erased from his calendar. No big deal. He seemed a little irritated, but everyone knew the meeting had been rescheduled except him. The interesting thing was that during that visit, he had an assistant with a camera with him. When he came back for the consultation there was no assistant or camera. He did give us a lot of very good information. He knows his trade very well. I will admit that my wife and I had a lot of questions and probably would have been better if we had narrowed them down. He did his best to answer them and gave us many good ideas. The one thing that let me down somewhat was that I thought we were going to get a report of what he saw and what he recommended. Once the consultation was done we never heard from him again. I admit that I could be wrong about expecting a report, but I thought that was what the package included.

See above information. David was very professional. He took his time examining each of the rooms where we were interested in making changes and seemed to be very aware of our specific needs and preferences. His follow up to the visit was timely. Overall, it was a very good experience.

OveralI, it went very well. David made an appointment right away. He came right away and was very helpful. He was very knowledgeable about every aspect of our home. David and his assistant were honest with their opinion about the condition of our home and the remodeling expenses They advised us on what to do to update our house. David's excellent suggestions and advise were emailed to us several days later. He also recommended several references.
