Miller Custom Building

The Millers were great to work with. They helped me through every step of the process, had high quality, skilled subcontractors when necessary, and did great work. I was especially interested in designing and building a large custom shower. They were very thoughtful about all the problems that had to be solved so that I could have what I wanted. They worked effectively with my time frame and my budget. I really enjoyed the experience of working on this major remodel with them.

Jim came over to our house to see what the project would involve. He listened to our description of what we wanted, and made suggestions. He submitted a drawing of front and side views of what he proposed to build. It was exactly what we wanted, and included some special details. He came out and removed the existing mantle and marble so the granite guys could come out and install new granite. Then he came back, took measurements, and built most of the mantle off site. He made a final trip out to install it, make final adjustments and caulk it. He always cleaned up the area perfectly. Jim does meticulous work and we would highly recommend him. This is the second project he has done for us.

The project was completed on-time, on-budget and with extreme care for all work performed. This is our second project with Miller Custom Building and we're already planning more work for the future. The quality of the work and the attention to detail is rare to find and worth the money. They have been great at working in a hundred year old home with many quirks and no straight lines left. The remodel went very smoothly. It took approximately 6 weeks. Jim and his son Nick did a great job. They made very valuable suggestions and were willing to be flexible with their schedule. The new railing around the opening to the basement is especially attractive and has received numerous compliments. All in all, we couldn't be happier with our "new" home. We look forward to having Miller Custom Building do additional work for us in the future.

Everything has gone very smoothly and Miller Custom Building has been not only professional but friendly and easy to work with. We are very pleased with all of the work and would definitely recommend them to others. I feel like the cost of the work they have done has been very fair for good work. I received one estimate that was $11,000 just for the painting and doors, and we are well below that with everything mentioned above. Also, I completely trust them in my home when I am not there, I have been able to come and go with no worry.

Jim remodeled our family room to remove some walls and change the lay out of the interior of our home. He gave us a fair quote which was in line with the other estimates we received. He did exactly what he said he would do and even after running into a few unforseen problems with the room framing, he did not charge me one penny more than his quote. He gave me an expected date of completion which was met on time. They always kept their working space clean at the end of the day. I trust Jim to do any work at my house and know I will be treated fairly and get a very high quality job.
