Buyer be aware?. If you purchase a ceiling fan from Metro Lighting and the fan starts to make noise after a year in-service; the first thing they want to know is who installed the fan and they try to blame the installer for the issue. Then they wipe their hands of the issue and send you directly to the manufacturer. Horrible customer service after the sale.

My contact at Metro Lighting, Sam, was extremely helpful and very professional in helping me select fixtures for our new home. She helped me select lighting for an open concept living area where several fixtures needed to somewhat coordinate and helped me determine where I should concentrate my budget for the most impact. I also consulted with an interior designer on my project, who helped me avoid some costly aesthetic mistakes - if you're doing an entire home, I don't think you can get away with just using Metro's people. Also, I found the selection at Metro - while perhaps the largest in the St. Louis area, where so many lighting stores have closed - to be somewhat limited, particularly with more traditional fixtures. And lighting fixtures are one of those things that you really need to see in person, because they can look so cheap. I wound up getting a few fixtures at another local store.

We go to market twice a year in Jan. and June. After we select new products according to new trends we then update our displays. I'm sorry you did not find everthing you needed when you were in but right now the showroom is amazing with numerous new transitional and modern style lights. We do whole house appointment selections everyday and dedicate 12 people to just that. We also offer a price guarantee and a 1 year in home warranty. No one is perfect but we sure try to take care of our customers.

We had used this company before when we built our house two years ago. Though their prices were extremely high, we were happy with the quality of their products. We decided to finish our basement over the winter and checked Metro Lighting for some ideas on pendant lighting, bathroom fixtures, sconces, etc. While they do have a decent selection of these items to choose from in the store, I still wanted to see more options. They presented me with a stack of catalogs to browse through from several different manufacturers. This actually helped to narrow down the style I was wanting, but after getting a quote from them, I was able to find the same lights online for much cheaper. The discrepancy was so great, I felt it warranted a "D" for price. We also wanted to include under-cabinet lighting, under-bar lighting and in-cabinet lighting with our basement project. Dave showed us some options, but I was a bit hesitant of how the system actually worked. We had been accustomed to actual lights, mounted in the areas mentioned, as opposed to a strip of LED lights affixed to tape. In the beginning, I was the middle man between Metro Lighting and our electrician. After being asked numerous questions from both parties, to which I had ZERO knowledge, I finally said the two needed to work together directly. As soon as I said that, Dave stepped up and handled the project . He coordinated the materials needed with the electirican, ordered them promptly so they would be available when the time came for installation and came to our house to measure the amount of lighting needed. I don't know if they do this for all projects, but it definitely made me feel more at ease. This is an extemely busy location and they could certainly use a few more people on staff to help with the volume of people, especially on the weekends. Overall, we are very happy with the LED tape lighting and we hope it lasts for a long time.

Metro has to fix the way they serve customers that visit the showroom in Brentwood. My wife and I stood at the rectangular and quot;helpand quot; station for 15 minutes, only to be told protocol was to form a line at the back of the bar. No sign, no pick a number...we were just supposed to and quot;knowand quot; this rule. Formalize the process. Two customers walked out for the same reason while we were being helped. Once we figured out the process, the assistance was good and professional. Easy fix...just need to execute!

The first time we drove all the way out there, we were met with a note taped to the door that said the store was closed. As I had carefully checked the store hours, I was annoyed by the waste of our time and the lack of professionalism this represented. However, as they were highly recommended by our contractor, we went back the following Sunday. The man who helped us was knowledgeable and very helpful, made good suggestions and found us exactly what we wanted. We knew what we would pay, but nothing was given to us - no P.O. or anything with a list of what was being ordered. No deposit was requested. He said it would be about 2 weeks for the materials to come in and 2 weeks later they were in. When I went to pick them up, however, the woman who assisted me was curt to the point of rudeness because I didn't have any paperwork and she conveyed clearly that she didn't believe me when I said I hadn't been given any. When I asked to see the products before I paid for them (since I wanted to be sure that what was ordered was what I wanted,) she was clearly unhappy with me. Fortunately, I didn't care. The products were exactly what I expected, I paid and we were done. I am very happy with the purchases. They could work on their professionalism.

Good experience. Prices competitive. They were able to show me pictures of additional fixtures that matched what we bought. The one drawback was that one fixture was a special order and could not be returned. (We were going only by a picture).
