They were fantastic. We fired a company and then we found John Pitts Painting and so we had them come in to finish our home painting. We were overwhelmed by the painting. They did very well.
Description of Work: John Pitts Painting came out and did interior painting services a year and a half ago.

On the recommnedation of a friend (who had not used the services but was a friend of the owner) , I originally hired the company to do interior painting. It went fine, they showed up on time and performed the work to my satisfaction. Over time I noticed many places they had been a bit careless, drips on floor, drips on wall, spots that where not thoroughly coated. I then hired the company to paint my entire 80 year old house. The quote seemed reasonable. The problems began the day they started. First the owner, John Pitts, was hard to communicate with. He doesn't use email so beyond the initial contract nothing was ever put in writing. I would call and we would trade phone mesages all day long before talking...and then the resolution was never written down anywhere, which proved proved problematic when the invoicing came. They were not to put a second coat on anything until I had looked at it and agreed to a second coat. The very first day they put a second coat on the detached garage trim ( I would havenever invested addditional funds on this) without my approval. The entire house ended up looking awful with only one coat of paint. As a professional, I feel when bidding, the owner should have explained what he felt was needed to make the house look right. . There was a lot of chippping and I was told the house would be sanded and I assumed this meant the chipping would be diminished...it was not what he meant at all...so we had a big issue on what prepping the house for painting entailed. The house did not look acceptable to me, nor him and his team when the contracted work was completed. It took a lot more money to get it to an acceptable place and I think that extra work should have been mentioned when bidding. It took over 6 weeks to complete my job that should have taken two weeks at most. The owner keep pulling people off my job to go work on other jobs. I also thought once they were there thye took advantage on price. If they were going to put a second coat on one side of the house it should have cost a quarter more ...not a third more. And when one person did the work in one day, I thought $1600 was a bit pricey. Finally the bill, as I stated the changes were never put in writing....I ended up being over billed and overpaying by $600. when I figured this out and brought to attention of ower it took 3 months to get my money back...and he didn't refund for the work he did without my permission. I also thought the owner had a very chauvinistic attitude towards women. All his contact was with me, but he billed to Mr and Mrs......there is no Mr. My house looks Ok now but the extra expense, time and hassle, I'd definitely not recommend this company.
