After paying $8000 a few spots popped off and they blamed it on concrete shifting. Never mentioned anything about this when we hired them.Just told us it would never come off even if concrete cracked.Very disappointed after spending that much money.

Cool Deck looks okay but you can't get any stains off it even natural biological stains such as grass or dirt. It stains very easily and the cleaner that they recommended does not work. They put a mortar in between the sections of the patio which has literally turned the color of mold and again cannot be removed. You would think that a company in this business would make sure that the products they use can be cleaned. They came back and repaired the patio because it was sinking and they mud jacked it. It wasn't two months and it sunk again. This company does a cosmetically nice job but the quality is VERY poor.

Exchanged couple of phone calls and cleared calendar for an appointment. Salesperson called morning of the appointment to let us know Decorative Concrete has a $2500 minimum charge. We have a small job so their minimum would be cost prohibitive. It would be nice if their website was more transparent. Would not have wasted my time.

Description of Work: The company sealed my exterior concrete as well as applied a polyurea finish to my garage. The garage process was done quickly and as scheduled. The exterior work was delayed because of rain, but the company was in constant contact about when they would be getting out to do the work and did not request any payment during the time between scheduling and completion for the exterior job.

I Love, Love, love my new garage floor ! Joan came out quickly to talk to me about the product and provide an estimate. She was very helpful providing me with all the info I needed and helped me pick the best color to go with the outside of my house. She even came out a second time so I could look at the samples one more time. They finished everything in a day..the installation team was nice and left everything spotless ! You can drive a forklift on this floor with no damage. It has made our garage look Beautiful. Everyone who sees it gushes about it! Did I say I Love my new Garage Floor ! Thanks Lisa, Joan and the whole team for a Wonderful Experience.

We are remodeling our basement and are having quite a bit of work done. The work performed by Decorative Concrete was great. The crew was very professional and courteous. They performed the work on time, gave good estimates on dates and did a great clean up after all their work. We only wish all the work done on our basement went as well as the staining.

Called to make appt and Lindsey came out and showed us what she had to offer that would work in our situation since we diid not have level flooring. We had never seen this process before and it looked unique online. After a couple of appts and looking at different styles we chose to get the decorative concrete to cover our basement floor that had just been ripped up because we had to replace all of our cast iron pipes and the top surface was not smooth or presentable for guests. The original design we wanted would not work-Lindsy said it was very labor intensive and would not hold up as well under normal usage. The date was set and they came out and unfortunately it took a little longer than we were told, but we also didn't want to rush it. We were anxious to get this all over plus we had other work that was to be done the following week and that had to be changed. After it was done there were some issues that had to be addressed and they did take care of them, it just took a little longer than we wanted to get finished. THey had suggested we go to a location that they had done years ago with this same process to see how it looks and holds up--we were very impressed. Even though it didn't look like new or something that was presentable--the circumstances were that it was a horse barn and the usage was way more than any household would endure. We spoke to the owner there and she confirmed what we expected that this process was something we would like and it will hold up for many years.

My husband and I went to the Home Show looking for concrete contractors. We stopped at the Decorative Concrete Resurfacing booth to look at the resurfacing they had there for concrete - such as sidewalks, etc. I noticed that they had a shower that had been "resurfaced". I couldn't get over it. It looked beautiful - almost like granite. They asked if I would like to enter a drawing because they would be giving away a "shower resurfacing" if you had a fiberglass shower, which I did. I wasn't going to sign up thinking they were just looking for my name to contact me in the future, but then decided why not. I came home and thought how I would love to do that to my old shower surround because it was a very outdated pinkish color but it wasn't on our "list of what to do" this spring so I didn't pursue it. Well a couple weeks later I got an e-mail saying I had WON the shower resurfacing at the Home Show. I at first thought - no way could this be for real. But it was - I had won. Lisa O'Hern came out to my house on a Monday and brought samples of my choices. She did a short video of me saying that I was the person that had won at the Home Show. The next day the workers (2 gentlemen) came out and did the entire job. They made sure they covered any area that needed to be covered, they were very professional, they stayed and worked until the project was complete. It turned out fantastic! I couldn't be happier. I feel like I am in a hotel when I take my shower now. It just looks beautiful!!! Lisa was a pleasure to meet and to talk to. I keep thinking they never would have had to have called to tell me I won. I had totally forgotten that I entered my name so I think it really says a lot about their company that they followed thru with something like this. I will definately keep them in mind if we have any work that needs to be done and would for sure recommend them for the work that they did do in our shower!!!
Description of Work: We had a very old fiberglass shower surround that they resurfaced for us. They were great about calling us, setting up an appointment, showing up on time to do the work. They were very good about covering everything before hand so that there was no mess. Very professional in their workmanship.

We contracted this company in May 20011 to acid stain a basement floor in late July 2011. This was part of an overall basement remodel. As we got close to the scheduled date, I was assured that they would be there on time. When the date arrived, they were a no show, no call, no email. Eventually, they did show and start work about a week late. We had scheduled other jobs that had to be delayed. Communication was poor. We ran in to trouble during the refinishing process because the floor would not dry. We received an explanation of the drying issue after about 4 days of waiting. We were given an option to use a water based sealer versus a solvent based sealer. We were given the impression that the water based sealer was of lesser quality. We found out late that the drying problem had occurred with other customers at about the same time. After the sealer was applied, we found some foot prints in the floor that went through sealer. We were told that the prints would be fixed. After several phone calls and two promises that they would fix the prints, we gave up waiting. We have a rug on the floor to cover the most visible prints in the center of the room.
Description of Work: This company refinished our basement floor as part of a basement remodel. The floor finish was an acid stain in a mahogany color.

The design colsultant, Joan Spurlock came to give me an estimate and to measure the area. She showed me some pictures of previous jobs and she made some suggestions for my procect. The work was done neatly and efficiently. I am very happy with the result.
Description of Work: The front porch and back steps had indoor outdoor carpeting from 30 years ago and were in dire need of an update. Decorative Concrete Resurfacing did a great job in providing a surface that looks fantastic. The workers had to wait for some rain-free days and as soon as the weathert was dry they started and finished the project.

NEVER use this company! Worst experience of my entire life as a homeowner! They caught our house on fire and my family will be out of our home for the next 4 months. The frustration began when they changed our start date four different times over a two week period. Work finally started on the fifth date, so I thought the worst was behind us...I have never been so wrong. The first step was grinding our cement floor of old paint so it was down to bare concrete. The concrete looked fine once grinding was complete, but they left the basement door open so our main level was covered in a thick coat of concrete dust. Trust me when I say it gets worse! The second step was applying the acid stain which they did and it looked fine. The final process involved the application of 3 sealant coats over the acid stain. They told us the fumes from the sealant were strong and flammable too. They would need to turn off the thermostat and pilot lights, so we might choose to sleep elsewhere over the following 3 days when they were applying the sealant. We took their advice and left the house to sleep at my in-laws. Monday morning, they turned off the thermostat and pilot lights and applied the first coat of sealant. They returned Monday night to turn back on the pilot lights and thermostat. It helps eliminate the smell of the fumes to get air circulating from what they told me. They said they would return in the morning to apply the second application and would need to turn off the thermostat and pilot lights once more. We spent another night at my in-laws, however, I returned to the house early Tuesday morning. I needed to unlock the doors so they could get in when they arrived and wanted to put a reminder letter on the floor to make sure they turned off the thermostat and pilot lights again too. Guess what they forgot to do??? My wife drives by the house at 9am Tuesday morning and two workers are running out the door with smoke coming through our roof. They forgot to turn off the pilot light to the water heater and the sealant ignited. The explosion blew out our four basement windows, torched the basement, and crept inside a wall on the main level. The fire restoration company just removed the last of our contents today and it will take them 4 months to get our house back to move in condition.
Description of Work: Acid stain our concrete basement floor. Used grinder to sand paint off old concrete floor, applied two applications of acid stain, and completed one of three sealant applications.

ALTHOUGH SOME OF THE ACCOUNT IS CORRECT I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE YOU, AS PAUL HARVEY WOULD SAY..."THE REST OF THE STORY."... OUR COMPANY HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 25 YEARS, WE VALUE OUR CUSTOMERS AND STRIVE TO GIVE A SUPERIOR PRODUCT AND SERVICE. IN 25 YEARS, WE HAVE NEVER HAD AN INCIDENT OF THIS MAGNITUDE OCCUR AND HAVE OUR INSURANCE COMPANY PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THE REST OF OUR RATINGS BEFORE JUDGING US FROM THIS CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE. WE STARTED THE JOB WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF SIGNING THE CONTRACT. I DID MAKE A SCHEDULING ERROR BUT FOLLOWED UP WITH TELEPHONE CALLS TO KEEP THEM INFORMED. THEIR PROJECT WAS AN UNDERGROUND BASEMENT FLOOR WITH VERY POOR VENTILATION. WE OPENED THE SMALL WINDOWS, ADDED FANS AND LEFT THE KITCHEN DOOR OPEN TO DRAW IN FRESH AIR. WE HAD TO GRIND OFF PAINT FROM THE CONCRETE WHICH IS "CONSTRUCTION" AND PRODUCED SOME DUST. THIS WAS DISCUSSED WITH THE CUSTOMER PRIOR TO THE START OF THE JOB. WHEN THE GRINDING WAS COMPLETE, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE CUSTOMER TO DISCUSS THE SURFACE IMPERFECTIONS IN THE CONCRETE (CRACKS AND HOLES) AND ADVISED THE CUSTOMER THAT ALL OF THESE IMPERFECTIONS WOULD SHOW THROUGH THE FINISHED JOB. AT THAT TIME, I OFFERED HER ANOTHER OPTION THAT WOULD HIDE ALL OF THE PROBLEMS, AS A FREE "UPGRADE". IT WAS MY ATTEMPT TO MAKE UP FOR THE SCHEDULING DELAY AND ALSO TO HAVE A BETTER LOOKING JOB. THE CUSTOMER DECLINED MY OFFER. SHE ASSURED ME THAT THEY WANTED THE "ACID STAINED LOOK" AND ALL THE PROBLEMS WOULD BE FINE SHOWING. AT THAT TIME SHE BROUGHT UP THE EXCESS DUST IN THE UPSTAIRS. I INVESTIGATED AND FOUND OUT FROM THE EMPLOYEES THAT THEY NEEDED THE VENTILATION TO THE LOWER LEVEL. ONE HOUR LATER I PROCEEDED TO HIRE AND SEND A CLEANING LADY OVER THE NEXT DAY TO CLEAN AND DUST FOR HER. ANOTHER GESTURE TO SHOW OUR DESIRE FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. WE PROCEEDED TO INSTALL THE ACID STAIN, CLEAN THE FLOOR AND INSTALL TWO COATS OF SEALER. WE ALWAYS RECOMMEND OUR CUSTOMERS LEAVE, DURING THE SEALER, DUE TO THE STRONG ODOR PRESENT. WE TURNED OFF THE PILOT LIGHT TO THE FURNACE BUT ASSUMED THE WATER HEATER WAS ELECTRIC, OUR MISTAKE. WHEN WE SHOWED UP TO INSTALL THE THIRD COAT, TURNED OFF THE FURNACE PILOT LIGHT BUT NOT THE PILOT LIGHT TO THE WATER SOFTENER AND THE FUMES OF THE SEALER CAUGHT ON FIRE. KEVIN, THE OWNER, SHOWED UP WITHIN 20 MINUTES OF IT HAPPENING. HE APOLOGIZED, PROCEEDED TO CALL OUR INSURANCE CO., A FIRE RESTORATION CONTRACTOR, AND GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO GET A BID STARTED FOR REPAIRS. WE ADVISED THE CUSTOMER OF ALL THIS AT THE TIME AND ASKED IF WE COULD HELP IN ANY OTHER WAY. THE CUSTOMER INFORMED US THAT THEIR INSURANCE CO. WAS HELPING THEM THROUGH THE PROCESS AND THEY DIDN'T NEED OUR HELP ANY FURTHER. WE INFORMED THEM THAT WHEN THE RESTORATION WORK WAS COMPLETE THAT WE WOULD GET IN TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE TO THE FLOOR AND FINISH THE JOB, IF IT WAS POSSIBLE. OUR INSURANCE COMPANY IS ACTIVELY WORKING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IT WILL BE PAYING FOR ALL OF THE REPAIRS AND THEIR EXPENSES TO LIVE IN A RENTAL HOUSE, ETC. WE FEEL WE ARE DOING EVERYTHING WE SHOULD TO RECTIFY THE UNFORTUNATE SITUATION.

We were very happy with the garage and basement floor. The porch didn't really match the color, but they didn't have that color. We didn't have any complaints about their work; they did excellent work and we would use them again and recommend them to others. We did have to wait a little bit because their grinder broke on a previous job, but that wasn't really their fault.
