Description of Work: Our garage door stopped working half way up and he came and changed out the equipment. It was over a year ago and I cannot remember the cost but the service was EXCELLENT...very nice to deal with...responds to calls and came quickly. I will for sure use this company again.

Description of Work: Remove old double entry garage door; install new insulated garage door; |Remove old garage door opener; install new garage door opener. | |Jim Byington did an excellent job and I am extremely pleased. He was very responsive when I first called. When he came to my house, he inspected my door. He said he could repair it and it should last for a few more years or he could replace it. I opted for replacement. He made a temporary repair to insure the door would continue to function until he could replace it (which he didn't have to do but he was concerned about the possible damage that might result if the door did break). The following week he returned with the door. He was very methodical, thorough and professional in his installation.

 + -1 moreIn the past, we loved working with this company and have always found them to be responsive and professional. I have called 4 times now, including Jim's cell phone and they have never responded. We discussed several dates for them to come out and inspect the garage door that wasn't standard so we could have them install a garage door opener. They never called back and never returned my phone calls.

 + -1 moreLike the last time, Jim went above and beyond just replacing the springs. After finishing the installation, he inspected the door and hardware, tacked the rubber strip back in place, replaced a couple of bolts which hold the door together, disposed of the old springs, and advised me as to the door's overall condition. This was for the same cost as the other firms I called (trust but verify).When we finally get around to buying a replacement, I see no reason to not buy it from Affiliated. I just hope that happens before I break another spring...
Description of Work: Arriving home Sunday night from church, we discovered that a garage door spring had broken in our absence. It's a 32 year old, heavy, wood garage door, perilously close to (if not past) expiration. Jim Byington, Affiliated's owner, replaced the door's springs in 2003, and I didn't hesitate to call him again. He called me back a couple minutes after I left a message the next day, Monday morning, and arranged to come by that afternoon to replace the broken spring and its mate. Everybody says they need to be replaced together, and the cost to replace the pair is not much more than a single spring.

 + -1 moreAwesome company. The owner himself came out to perform the repairs two days after my call (he offered to come out the next day, but I couldn't be home). He was very informative, told us what he was doing, answered our questions and did a very professional job. I couldn't be happier. Wonderful customer service and expert quality. And, it cost exactly what he said it would on the phone.
Description of Work: Replaced springs on garage door, rewound cables, oiled entire door (bearings, hinges, etc.) and fixed our garage door opener.

 + -1 moreAffiliated came out within two days of my call (My schedule was the holdup). He inspected the door, identified the problem right away (the tracks were getting too loose), gave me a ballpark cost (possible new rollers and then labor. I gave him the go-ahead and he completed the job in less than one hour. He said that once the tracks were set the rollers worked fine so didn't need replacement. He inspected the tracks on our other door too and found no problem. He lubricated all tracks. I was surprised and very pleased that the cost was only $78! I will definately use this company again if we have a need.

Description of Work: Replace broken torsion springs. Added value: He checked, adjusted and lubricated the entire system. The local Home Depot and my best friend both warned me that without the proper tools the job could be deadly.

Description of Work: We needed a new torsion spring system for our garage door. I called on a Friday, and they came out the very next day. He removed the existing 16 foot internal torsion spring system 10,000 cycle rated spring and installed a new 16 foot torsion spring system with a 25,000 cycle rated spring.

 + -1 moreAffiliated was quick to respond and after I explained the problem, gave me a list of possible options along with the costs. They showed up when they said they would and finished the job in a timely manner. After they replaced the springs, they checked the garage door opener and found that the gears had been stripped. They charged me approximately $200 for the springs, the amount they quoted, and $100 for replacing the opener's gear box kit. Everything is working fine since the work was performed.
