The entire process from the estimate to job completion was so simple. I really like how they send a text message and email letting you know they are en route. We are very happy with the work that was done.

+ -1 moreThey are not very good. The grass seed did well for about a month. They were supposed to come back periodically to check on it. I had to call them and it would still take 3 weeks for them to come out. I was billed for services I didn't receive. They only showed up once that I know of, but they were supposed to come 4 times. They were middle of the road pricing on estimation, so I went with them. They seemed to be reasonable with what I needed and didn't need, but by the end of the season the yard was the pits. They could improve on customer service and getting back to the customer in a timely fashion. The workers and the owner were very friendly. They would speak to me.
Description of Work: They aerated my front lawn, top coated it and put grass seed down.

I was worried that the quality of the service would suffer, but this has not been the case. Please contact this company and give them a try.

+ 3 moreKeenan came out to give a bid and was out a day or two after I accepted the big with his crew. They got everything done in an afternoon. The job went exactly how I had hoped it would. They did all the work, paid attention to details, put up with suggestions & feedback as while trimming the trees....., did a great cleanup job, and since then all the grass has established nicely. Looking forward to having a nice looking and easier to maintain lawn next spring. Keenan the owner didn't sit back and supervise but really worked h****** the job. You don't always see this when an owner has an entire crew of guys with them. He worked hard and somehow seemed to be everywhere in the yard keeping checks on everyone making sure time was used efficiently. Depending on how busy I am next season and my family finances I have been considering hiring a lawn care service and if it comes to that A Kick in the Grass Lawn Service will get my business when the time comes. I can officially say they are a great local small business for lawn care, basic tree trimming, and landscaping needs.
Description of Work: Aerate lawn, power rake, over seed, fill a back area that had landscaping removed with 2 cubic yards of soil, seed that area, and apply starter fertilizer. Trimmed 3 trees and removed a large dead branch on another tree.

+ -1 moreCalled ahead. Arrived promptly and went right to work. Trimmed trees which let sun through for flowers, etc. Cleaned flower bed, moved some plants, trimmed bushes. Mulched flower bed, around bushes, and supplied a top quality mulch. Were very thorough. A Kick in the Grass lawn service takes pride in their work. I definitely would recommend you try them. Update: I was originally very pleased with his work. Now, after time, I would now suggest that you please make sure you get a written contract stating all the work to be done in detail and the price being charged for a win-win situation.

Description of Work: Snow removal. My previous scheduled remover didn't ever show up on the 16th. I called A Kick in the Grass the day after on the 17th to shovel the snow in the drive and turning pad at 11:30 A.M Keenan was very responsive and said they would be here in an hour and gave me very reasonable estimates. They were late in arriving but did call. They did a wonderful job cleaning a large downhill drive and turning area. They also cleaned my walkways and steps, the sidewalk in front of the house and the area in front of the mailbox. Then they spread more ice melt over the whole lot. this was more than I asked. I was very very pleased in every way. Very personable and professional

Description of Work: Our lawn mower broke, and we needed to have the lawn mowed while it was being repaired. Our grass was mowed and trimmed. All lawn waste was cleaned up after.

+ -1 moreI contacted this company and left a voice mail on Nov 4th, sent a message via the company's website a few days later and finally sent a subsequent email with absolutely no reply. This company contracted to do yard cutting and leaf cleanup at my neighbor's house on Friday, Nov 2nd. I returned home to find the crew had used high power leaf blowers in the fenced-in back yard, blowing a LARGE amount of the neighbor's leaves into my yard with no regard. The leaves just about covered my patio with piles left against my basement glass doors and more than a foot high of leaves covering the area surrounding my downspout. They blew the leaves from the back yard THROUGH AND OVER the gate to the front which also resulted in them blowing the majority of mulch from my plant bed which is between the houses. Granted, I didn't have a lot of plants in this area, however, I did have mulch around the two azaleas and a layer on the rest of the bed. This was all witnessed by one of the neighbors who watched the crew blow leaves, not only into my yard but also another adjoining neighbor's yard. When working in close proximity between houses, it would be best if they used the old-fashioned way and RAKED the leaves or maybe use tarps to remove them from the back to the front. This caused a lot of extra work for me which I did not appreciate at all. What I disliked the most is the crew's disregard for other people's property and the lack of concern the owner showed by not responding to a potential customer.

They are a little pricey but I know I am going to get good work from them. Hes very businesslike but he is still a likable guy to work with. Very accommodating.

Description of Work: This company provides regular grass cutting service for me. You tell them how often you want them to cut the grass, and they show up and do it. They do a good job; the yard is nicely cut, all the walkways are edged, and any excess grass that remains from cutting or edging is blown away. Two people arrive to do the job - one cuts, one edges, and the job is finished quickly. If I have branches or twigs from the trees, I put them in a lawn refuse bag and they haul it away, so I don't also have to pay for a yard waste fee. They ask you to sign a contract for the service price and the frequency of the service. We had a very wet spring, and the initial frequency of service for which I contracted was not keeping up with the growth. For some reason unknown even to me, I thought they should have known to cut the yard more frequently as it was growing very fact. The told me I would have to let them know if I wanted it cut more often. I didn't think about it at the time, but if they would have cut more frequently without my request, I would not have to pay them. Otherwise, everything has gone smoothly. The charge for the lawn service is $35.00 per cutting, and I have a large yard. They also did a spring clean up, cleaning up sweet-gum balls, leaves and other yard debris. They have removed mulch and sodded part of the yard. They built a "mini-patio" outside one of my doors, and that also was done perfectly. The quality of their work is outstanding, and I always am able to reach Keenan by phone. He also responds punctually to e-mails. I didn't do a lot of price research, but I feel reasonably sure the lawn service is in line with the preponderance of other services. What sets this company apart is the quality of their work. Keenan wants it done right, and I think he would be reluctant to do something he didn't think was being done properly.
