Shelton Landscape & Maintenance

This is the second time we have used Shelton landscape team for a big project. Amanda is very knowledgeable and seems to be able to translate what we are looking for in to something that goes well beyond our expectations. For this project we requested a paver walkway to go from the front yard to the backyard, new tree in front yard and replace dead grass area with sod. Our yard looks amazing - especially the paver walkway. We only needed a walkway to make it more convenient to get to the backyard. But really they gave us something that added a lot of curb appeal to our house. the walkway is a work of art. The men working on it did so in a very intricate manner to ensure the pattern and slope worked well with the house and rest of yard. Everything turned out perfect, again! Already thinking of the next yard project:)

Shelton Landscape did a beautiful job! Clay was very responsive and gave us a very fair price. They planted 22 trees, built a beautiful water feature, installed a stone path through our woods in the back and regraded and installed gutter drains on the north side of our house, along with shrubs around our gazebo. They did all of this in a (weather permitting) timely manner and we would definitely go to them for all of our additional landscaping needs.

The results were fantastic - couldn't be happier. We had made a mess of our front garden and decided to put in a paver patio to increase the curb appeal of our home. The designer picked out the perfect combination of paver colors to blend with the home. And the team did an amazing job of laying the patio considering the slope towards our driveway. On the side yard - we had mistakenly grown ivy in a retaining wall garden. The ivy was starting to die and creep outside the wall. The team removed the ivy and raised the bed to the height of the retaining wall. And added beautiful plants that are low maintenance. Everything turned out perfectly and they were very accommodating as we changed our mind on the design and added a front retaining wall at the last minute.

Amanda, the landscape designer, was creative and always responsive to our needs/requests. We now have a second patio and 3 plant beds. I used my existing stone as pathways to pergola. Their work was excellent. In Italy, a pergola is a structure to support plant growth. That is our ultimate goal to have happy grape vines and wisteria growing overhead. Shelton went out of their way to assemble our masterful Amish pergola when our assembly plans went awry. My California friend saw the picture and found it “fabulous”. I do too.

Shelton came to my house, surveyed what needed to be done, took measurements and returned with an estimate and a schematic showing how the replacement would be installed. They also brought a sample of the block that they recommended. We settled on a date for the work to begin based on their current work load and my vacation plans and they were very prompt in starting on that date. The work entailed removing the old limestone and carting it away, digging up some plantings and contending with numerous tree roots from a tree that had been removed some months prior. The work took a little less than a week and was done very neatly. The plan was a terraced effect for future plantings so it was actually two walls that were constructed. After construction, some areas were seeded and some mulched per our agreement.

The crew did an amazing job! Filepe and the crew took great pride in the work they did, performing every task as they would at their own home. They were courteous, on time, relatively quiet, considering they are doing construction, and left the site cleaner than they found it. I enjoyed having them on site and would have no reservations recommending them to others!

Went great, from estimate to work completion. Scott was very responsive to questions following initial estimate. Worked performed as scheduled, crew was on time, very professional, and also responsive to questions, completely cleaned up area after job was completed. Worked completed in a timely manner. Would definitely hire again.

Shelton's team did a phenomenal job from start to finish. Amanda, the landscape designer, was highly professional, answering all of my questions and offering creative solutions to the landscape design. The project was completed in one day by three professional landscapers who were very polite and efficient. Neighbors and passersby have stopped to comment on the new landscaping, saying they wouldn't recognize it as the same house as before. Wonderful job by a great group of pros! I will certainly use Shelton again.

A woman showed up looked at the yard. Was supposed to contact to come back for measurements. Called 3 week's after we had already found another company.

Exceeded my expectations in every way. We interviewed 5 potential landscape companies and from the beginning Shelton delivered above and beyond everyone else. From start to finish the level of detail, the responsiveness, the knowledge brought to the table by Clay D. was top notch. The crew worked hard and long over 4 days to give us a beautiful backyard. I would highly recommend Shelton Landscape.

They did a terrific job in a very timely manner. They were very hard workers, and had to wheelbarrow all the blocks and then the concrete to the back for the pad pour.. I want to thank Scott and his team for a job well done.

Clay came out and helped plan the project from the start. He provided many different options and price points until we came to the ultimate solution. Work started on schedule and kept moving as expected. As with any large project there were a few issues that needed to be corrected during the construction but Clay was always there and made sure everything was resolved even if it meant additional expense to Shelton. Also during the construction we added a new retaining wall which was not part of the original design and it was accommodated with no issues. Very happy with the end result and would recommend Shelton to anyone.

his was the second time we hired Shelton to do some landscaping for us and the whole experience was amazing again! We invited Scott out to our new home to create a plan to update the landscaping and grade the yard - and he graciously agreed and genuinely appreciated the opportunity. We, again like the last time, immediately felt comfortable with his bid and ideas and hired him to do the job. The project was started on a Monday and it only took 3 days to complete the work! Everything from grading the yard to building retaining walls, laying over 1000 square feet of sod to planting bushes, and laying tons of rock... Everything was discussed up-front and was included in the bid - no surprises or "making it up as it goes" situations and it was smoothly orchestrated. We even got a refund on some of the material that wasn't used. I have never seen laborers work as hard as Scott's crew and to take the personal pride and enjoyment in their work. And we appreciated that Scott brought out a crew that worked so well together. Those are some of the details that made us feel that we got a heck of a deal! It was an honor to work with Scott and his employees again and we are extremely blessed to have hired Shelton Landscaping. Our whole yard has been completely transformed and opened up. We are so impressed and excited to have hired Shelton, we are going to have him bid some landscape lighting to showcase his masterpiece and get a few trees trimmed too soon! We have definitely found our go-to landscape partner :)

We were very impressed from start to finish. We love the design! Scott put in a dry creek which is aesthetically pleasing, adds interest to the back yard, and provides a valuable solution to our erosion problem. The “one-stop shopping” he provided by removing trees, as well, and referring us to and coordinating with an irrigation company made things very convenient. Scott's employees are hard-working, skilled and courteous. They were attentive to detail and thoroughly cleaned up any debris on a daily basis. We enjoyed working with Scott to plan our project and appreciated his oversight throughout. We would highly recommend this provider.

After several delays due to weather - the patio was built and 1 1/2 days and it is beautiful! They had to deal with some difficult slope issues and somehow made it all work. I originally was looking at stamped concrete - but Scott came up with this solution which was much better and the cost was about the same. This is the second project he has done for me and probably won't be the last

Great! We worked with Clay Deschler who came out to look at our yard, answer questions, and make suggestions. He also gave me some advice on things to do to keep the project cost down, and worked with us when the original estimate was more than we had budgeted. The crew did a great job installing the sod and our yard looks great. I highly recommend Shelton.

Perfect. Clay Deschler came out to evaluate; he did so on a couple of occasions and offered valid, professional, economically sound to-my-advantage advise. The work was done in May 2016 and the group could not be more thorough. A number of employees here and the job was finished up in short time. Meramec bottom rock laid around 2/3 of the perimeter of my home in back yard with tan bullet edgers; sod laid (good sod); prior to that debris cleaned up; old landscaping patio blocks (numerous & heavy) removed from my yard; seed thrown down and mulch laid in part surrounded by the tan bullet edgers. Meramec bottom rock laid under the screen porch installed. Really well done. Actually, the best of the best. I will need them again to come out for a future project.

Trevor came out in Februaryl 2016 and discussed ideas with us. He later presented a plan that was as we discussed. The plan was similar to others we received, but Shelton came in significantly less than the others. Trevor called and set up a time in April to implement the plan, but they never showed. I called Trevor and he said it had rained early in the morning, so they were not coming. We rescheduled, and the landscaping was completed in one day. We are very happy with how it looks. We had one of the plants die within 6 weeks. I emailed Trevor and he said it would be replaced. It took over a month to get it replaced, but it is now done, and the landscaping looks very nice.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!! We are thrilled with the results. It couldn't have gone better. Scott's crew were tremendously hard workers and knowledgeable about what and how to do it. Everything we wanted was beginning to take place and then on the third day when they were doing the plantings, I wanted a change in the layout. Scott was there within a half hour, made the changes so we would have more shade under our deck and to extend the landscape outward on the other side. We wanted a park-like setting and we got that and more. We are so pleased with Scott and the people he employees. We have used the Shelton Landscape & Maintenance company several times for different projects in our front and back yards. We would highly recommend Scott's company and his crew. Very professional, very knowledgeable, and very accommodating.

The project manager was Clay Deschler. He was incredible. He is very knowledgeable about patio design and yard landscaping, he knows the pavers, lighting and plants and flowers as an expert should. He was very responsive to us, always returning emails or phone calls promptly. He is very easy to work with and to talk with. He treated the project at our home as if he was installing a patio at his own home. Very careful, very professional. He is an excellent problem solver. He managed his crew wonderfully. His foreman, I think his name is Sergio, was also highly competent and professional. All of the workers on Clay's crew respected him and worked hard for him. The removal of the old patio went flawlessly, and our home's exterior was protected despite the use and proximity of heavy pavement busting equipment. All underground lines and utilities were marked and protected. Clay's design of the new patio is a work of art and we love it. The job was done on time and on budget. We had, simply, an A+ experience with Shelton Landscaping, will use them again when the need arises, and are happy to recommend them to everyone.

They can out on time and listened to what we were looking for and what we did not want. Scott then designed a layout for our property. He presented the layout to us. Scott worked with us to refine the plan. The original date to plant was moved back by one week as the plants that arrived were not up to Shelton Landscaping's liking. Scott informed us the entire way thru on what was going on, the time line changes and why. The final product was better than we hoped. All the neighbors are loving our new look. THANK YOU!! Scott.

We used Shelton because they were the most responsive and provided us the best and in-depth estimate. Trevor from Shelton Landscaping was our project manager, and he was exceptionally good. Trevor really listened and understood our needs, and accordingly customized the landscaping proposal. We love how Trevor designed our new landscape and added the trees, bushes, and other fine touches etc. The Japanese Maple, Magnolias and Arbor Vitae's all these trees have added a new charm to our yard. We must say it all looks really awesome --and we can't wait to see how the other big trees develop. Overall, we are really happy with the work Trevor and his colleagues did...In fact, his colleagues worked 2 full days in our yard--really these are some strong men with very good work ethic.
