John exceeded our expectations! We were having issues with both our computers. I left a message for PC House Calls the evening of 5/31. My call was returned the morning of 6/1 and an appointment was made for 6/2. John arrived slightly ahead of schedule. He began working on the laptop and cleaned out the lint which may have been causing it to overheat. He also tried to install the many necessary Windows updates we were lacking, but there was a problem with Windows. While he was working on the laptop issue, he began working on the desktop simultaneously. He determined the only problem with the desktop was the lack of RAM and installed more RAM and a new anti virus program at that time. When he left, the desktop was running much faster. Before leaving, John explained that although we could now power up and use our laptop, he couldn't resolve the problems with the Windows updates. He felt we probably needed to reinstall Windows. We needed to run our recovery cd which unfortunately meant we needed to completely reinstall everything that hadn't come with the computer when we bought it. We also had to backup any important data (i.e., pictures, emails) from our hard drive. John called me the next day to let me know he would be available to me over the phone to walk me through any issues I may have reinstalling the operating software. When I was finished, I phoned him that night and gave him remote access to our laptop. He then went through cleaning off files we didn't need, installing necessary Windows updates, and installing an anti virus program on our computer. He did not bill us for this extra time. Although having computer trouble is never fun, John made the experience as painless as possible. He clearly knows what he's doing and wants to make sure his clients are completely satisfied. We were very pleased and will DEFINITELY use this service again!

I called John and explained that I had a non-emergency problem. He called back with an appointment for the next day. When John arrived, I showed and explained the problems I was having. He set to work, explaining his steps as he progressed. It took a little over an hour to fix the problem, but John only charged me for the initial hour. I was very satisfied with the work of PC Housecalls, and plan to call them in the future whenever I have computer problems.

The service provided has been outstanding. I have had a number of "computer experts" work on my computers, printers, etc. and they only made things worse. Or, if they do fix things, it takes them twice as long as PC House Calls. When PC House Calls works on my computer, it's fixed and fixed quickly. Steve is usually the technician who works on my equipment. John has helped me in person on one occasion and a couple of times on the phone. Both are very courteous, professional, prompt, dependable and COMPETENT. I posted one initial review which was positive, but wanted to wait until I had a number of experiences with them. I have never been disappointed. They have earned their very high ratings. I hope to do business with them for a long time.

When I called to make the appointment, I was given a specific time---not a "window" like some other companies give. The technician arrived on time and was very polite. As he worked, he explained the diagnostic tests he was doing, made recommendations on improvements and answered my questions. He had to leave to obtain a piece of hardware, but did not charge me for travel time. I was very pleased with the service and have already recommended the company to a co-worker who is having computer problems.

On Sunday I found my computer was overrun with a virus which practically shut down anything I attempted to do. I was a bit frantic because I have thousands of pictures on my computer as well as a database with the information for my home-based company. I had backed up all the data, but I was still afraid I would lose critical information. On Monday morning I called John, who said he could come first thing Tuesday morning. John arrived promptly at 9:00 am and began work immediately. He questioned me about the problems, looked at the computer, and agreed I had a big problem. Before he started to rebuild Windows, he checked out each of my backups to be sure they were valid, and questioned me about programs I used. He also pointed out that the problem had arisen because I had not been sufficiently careful about uploading Windows updates, and set up my computer to facilitate getting these updates in the future. Because I had partitioned my drive previously, John only had to wipe out and rebuild the C drive (where all my programs were stored). My pictures were safe on another drive, but my company database was on the C drive. After assuring that the data was backed up, John re-installed recommended a FREE anti-virus software superior to the one I was currently paying for, installed it as well as anti-spy ware software, coached me on maintaining them, and rebuilt the drive. He stayed until all my fears were assuaged and my database was up and running again. After John left, I managed to immediately delete critical information. I called again in a panic and reached him just as he arrived home. He once again talked me through the process of restoring the information, and gave me suggestions to avoid repeating this error. I will promptly call John in the future and will recommend his services to all my friends.

Called, gave me appt. that day, went out and cleaned out the computer. He couldn't get virus off unless he stripped hardware, etc. Had him do that, and reinstall everything. Very honest. Pricing was fair. They were great!

I recently signed up for ATT Dsl Service and couldn't seem to figure out how to set it up. The technician was very friendly and personable, arrived on time, and educated me on what he was doing as he set it all up. He also updated some of my computer's software and installed antivirus software with no extra charge. Overall, he made it a very quick and educational service. I would recommend this company to anyone who doesn't speak the "computer" language.
