We made the right decision with Artistic Decks. From beginning to end everything went smoothly & on time. The workers were professional & knew what they were doing. We had a few small issues we brought up to them & they not only fixed it but made it better. We ran a few extras by Derrick & he gave us the facts on cost & practicality which saved us money in the end. He never tried to upsell & no hidden costs. We had three other bids & PVC with Derrick cost less than one of the wood bids we received. Derrick communicates & he's responsive. Our deck turned out amazing & we couldn't be happier. I've recommended him to many friends & coworkers - fabulous experience.

We signed our contract in May and were told the company was very busy and it probably wouldn't be completed till September or October. They started work on a Wednesday in December and the job was completed on Monday - the two man crew worked every day including Saturday and Sunday. They cleaned up the project area including cigarette butts every day. We are very happy with the finished product and felt like we made a good choice in choosing Artistic Decks. Highly recommend!

Great experience! Derek and his team were responsive, very polite, and did an amazing job building our new deck. They over built everything and blew away our expectations (they even worked weekends 🤯). I would highly recommend them.

I couldn't be more pleased with the new deck. The whole process took about two weeks with a couple of rain delays. The finished product is not only beautiful but extremely well built. Their pricing was very competitive as well. If you need a new deck you definitely should consider Artistic Decks.

Derrick and his team were fantastic! They provided a professional job from start to finish. In the beginning, Derrick asked us some very good questions which made us think about portions of the project that we had not given much thought too. There was never any pressure and when asked, Derrick was able to provide us with good ideas. We also added a privacy wall to our deck, that turned out just as we envisioned, even though they had not built one just like the one we asked for. They took our vision and couldn’t have done a better job in executing it. Extremely pleased and better pricing than many of his competitors! There were no "hidden costs" or unexpected extras. The workmen, John and Chris, were outstanding in their attention to detail and promptness each day. I thoroughly recommend Derrick and his company for the quality of work, the ability to execute, and the management of the entire project.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE OUR NEW COVERED DECK Beyond Awesome! No BS, no flashy promos, no hidden extras. Derrick Brumley is a breath of fresh air. Don’t be fooled by his looks. He is an experienced professional with a small business who back his products and services, uses high quality wood and products and hires friendly, experienced individuals and professional craftsmen, carpenters, and sub-contractors. Like everyone else in our area, our install was pushed back because of the snow, rain, frigid cold, more rain, etc., but it was well worth it. John and Chris were our crew. They appeared every day at 6:30ish and semi-quietly got their tools and equipment out for their days work😀. Sawing didn’t begin until after 7 am. When they left each day, the work site was cleaned up, organized, and covered in the event of rain which we had throughout the project. Derrick appeared intermittently throughout the project and was open and honest and answered all our questions. Only issue was misunderstanding with electric sub-contractor and Derrick took care of it. Other than that, everything went smoothly. I give Artistic Decks and Derrick, John and Chris, and Shawn(siding, gutter guide) an A+ and highly recommend hiring them.

Derrick and his team did a great job replacing our original wood deck with an Aztec composite deck system. They were efficient, timely and very professional. We had Artistic decks create flagstone steps and a walkway with landscaping that connected our front driveway to the backyard deck and original paver patio. Derrick made sure all paperwork required was complete and all inspections were approved without concern. I highly recommend Artistic Decks for your next deck project.

I would absolutely hire Artistic Decks again. High quality composite material at a lower price than we were quoted for cedar with other companies. The composite is so beautiful, unique, and looks so nice against our house. We’ve had the deck a while now (a year?), and the composite still looks good. There was a bit of a wait to start construction, due to weather and the company’s busy schedule; but once they started, it was up in no time. Really glad we went with them!

Derrick, the owner came prepared with ideas and samples, to create a beautiful deck, which is organic to the house. The lead builder, John, and Chris, worked through the heat wave, but never did work that was less than detailed and precise. The attention to detail is impressive in such a large project. We are completely satisfied with this wonderful addition to our home!

After a couple of bids and several "no shows" from other contractors, we stumbled upon this company, and it was the BEST stumble. Derrick met with us and we discussed what we wanted, he gave suggestions and on the spot gave us a "ball park" amount and an estimated start date. He gave us time to think about it and gave us a call back within a few days to see if we wanted to proceed. His workers (John & Chris) were very professional, always on time and respectful. We highly recommend.

We met Derrick at the St Louis HBA Home Show in 2016 and asked him to provide a bid to replace our deck. Derrick came to our home and provided us a bid on the spot. There was zero pressure from him to make a decision. We chose to wait until this year to build the deck. We were so impressed with Derrick that we asked him to come out an provide a bid again this year. We had 2 other companies provide us bids for the same work. Derrick gave us the best bid without any knowledge of the other bids we received. We signed the contract in May with the understanding that the work would begin in mid to late July. The job started near the end of July. John and Chris began work on or before 7am every day and worked until mid-afternoon. They were on time every day. They were polite, friendly, and hard working. They were both open to answering my questions. The finished deck is beautiful. John & Chris paid very close attention to detail. The workmanship of the deck, railing, and steps are of the highest possible quality. They made sure the entire work site was cleaned up when they finished. When the job was done, Derrick came by and inspected everything and verified the quality of work before he would accept final payment. Derrick was excellent in advising us with respect to the colors, design and product choices for our new deck. He met with us at home on two occasions and also met with us at a showroom so we could see the various product selections first hand. We were impressed with how knowledgeable he was and how well he explained what needed to be done and why. Derrick takes great care to make sure that his customers are satisfied and presents more cost-conscious choices, as well as higher end selections - then you decide. After the project was finished, we decided that we wanted to add one more post light, which he quickly added at no charge. It did take him a little longer to start the project than anticipated, but our new deck is beautiful, sturdy and maintenance-free! We love it!

We were impressed with the skills and professionalism of the crew, and the final results are fantastic! Derrick had made some initial design suggestions that improved our plans. The elapsed time for the project dragged on a bit due to a combination of weather, holiday weekend, and slight delay in delivery of some material. Artistic came through with additional help and weekend work to make up for it. We are very happy with the results, and with Artistic's response to some adverse circumstances.

Derrick was prompt and showed up on time for all appointments and estimates. He was very straightforward about the work that would be required. He also was very helpful in explaining my options and their consequences. They were able to use almost all of the understructure of my old deck. I was impressed that they didn't try to sell me on the idea of a complete tear down! It seemed to take a while to get the materials needed but once work began, the crew showed up every day and put in a full days work unless the weather wouldn't allow. They even worked on Sat. and Sun. to make up for bad weather. The result is beautiful new deck that I will NEVER have to paint or stain again.

They gave an initial estimate that was lower that our previous two estimates with a better product. We chose Artistic Decks to begin with based on the Angies List. As a homeowner we negotiated to lower the price if we removed the old deck and had it hauled away. They installed new 6x6 treated posts and framed using 2x10 on 12 inch center's which made it a very solid feeling deck. We chose a grey Timber Tech composite decking and rails. The old deck had settled and was not level so when they made this one level it left a small gap under the door threshold, this took a little to get used to but was told it had to be level to meet city code. We are happy with the final products and it will last out lifetime and beyond . The B on punctuality is in some way out of Derrick's control but thought he could have done better in keeping us up to date on a start time. There was a lot of rain and his crews don't work in the rain, but I had to initiate communications versus him calling or texting each week the job didn't start. The job was supposed to start in June but due to so much rain it didn't get done till September so no 4th of July party on the new deck.

These guys were great! Even with the extremely wet June, they still built a beautiful and functional deck. Whenever I called with questions they either answered the phone right away or called back within 30 minutes. They did everything they said they would do and for the price quoted. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Derrick was great to work with. He guided us through the process and made some suggestions that improved on our original ideas. He handled getting all the permits and kept us informed on the timing. His crew were very professional and talented. We are picky about work we have done and I can't find a thing to complain about. My neighbor was admiring it and is thinking about having his deck replaced. I was more than happy to recommend Artistic.

Low price, high quality. Would definitely hire again.

I contacted the company through their website and the owner called a day or 2 later to set up an appointment to come look at the project. He even followed up when I was late on getting back to him. He showed up on time and had samples of numerous decking options. He provided guidance on what materials might work best and alternatives to fit our budget. Derek was responsive in providing updated quotes when we changed materials. Ended up going with a different contractor who was approximately 10% less expensive and material to be used was a step up (from capped composite to Azek PVC). I would however recommend this company when getting bids for a new deck; we did go with another company but I think Artistic Decks would have done a good job as well and their price was competitive.

I thought I would need to rebuild a part of my deck but he assured me it was done correctly the first time and safe which saved me money. He was very nice and upfront about everything. He may have upsold me on powerwashing my deck which I wasnt planning on doing but definetly needed. When I ran into finincial issues and was unable to move fwd the the job, he was very understanding and I plan to use them when I can afford it.
