Had a new roof couldn't decide on what type and they helped me decide. Change a few things with the quote no extra money involved and made it a smooth transaction. On time when they said and clean up wonderful. Very friendly and best price around would use them again and refer them also. Its hard to find someone you feel comfortable with and they make you feel that way by just returning all phone calls and helping when ever needed.

We replaced a two layer roof to be proactive in preventing any future leaks because of the roof age, but this new roof leaked within the first 4 months of installation at 3 roof vents. Note the same type of old vents that were replaced never leaked. Roof was installed on 3-23-2010. Invoice #2650. Cost $5,281.00. After the roof was installed the vinyl gutter guards were reinstalled, but the old roofing debris was not removed. I discovered this when we had a rain storm and the water was overflowing the gutters, but the downspouts had very little flow. We then discovered water leak stains on our family room ceiling and called Mr. Altmann for him to send someone out to check on the issue. At that time he said all of his crews were working out of town due to I believe it was Hurricane Alex and nobody was available to look at this. I ended up putting a tarp up in the attic to catch the leaks and we had to paint our ceiling. I have pictures dated at the time to back this up. He told me not to caulk around the vents so I did not, but one of his guys did show up a few days later and did caulk around the vents, but this did not resolve the issues. Mr. Altmann or his guy never commented on the extra work we had to do to fix our ceiling. I had kept the tarp in place as a precaution and the vents continued to leak during some storms. I finally replaced all 3 vents myself this spring (2017) and have had no issues even though we have had some pretty strong storms. As I said, I have pictures to back up this if there is any dispute. Maybe this company has improved since that time, but based on our experience we will not use them again.

Called and spoke with Rusty and Alex, both were very pleasant and professional. However they are not the ones that actually come out and do the work on the house.; they are just "customer service." Altmann came out quickly after I called them; they worked fast and finished the job in about a day. I arrived the next day to look at the roof; and it looked...well, bad. Shingles were sticking up and there were odd grooves in the roof. I called and spoke with Alex and told him that i was not satisfied with how the roof looked. He sent out someone to look at the roof that same day. Later that evening he called back and said that because I had picked the 30 year shingles, they were thicker and required extra time and some heat to lay flat. He said when temperatures warm up, the shingles will flatten out. But with it being almost November I don't expect to see many warm days anytime soon. The roof is slowly beginning to lay flat over time, but it still looks odd. Overall Altmann Roofing did a good job. They worked quickly and responded to issues in a timely manner.

Horrible. It turned out a former partner and his out of town crew did the work. It took for ever to get the work started, understandable with the big hail storm of April 2012. However the shingles were delivered and sat on my roof for a month in temperatures that were many days in the 100's to 110. Th roof looks bad, Altmann has been out here 6-8 different times for various things, but not Rusty Altmann, he sends his former partner Chris or someone else. Now my roof is leaking on my freshly painted walls. We'll see how my insurance company feels about how they spent their money on a "new" roof when their roof inspector shows up today. It an Altmann salesman knocks on your door, lock it and go hide.

Our roof and gutters were damage by a hail storm in June of 2011. We had an insurance adjuster come April 1, 2012. April 12, Gary from Altmann Roofing and Construction came out and did an estimate. On April 23, roofers showed up without anyone ever notifying us. On April 24, Gary came by to pick up the check. On April 25, Rusty Altmann, the owner of the company called us to inform us he fired Gary and we needed to get our check back from Gary and pay him directly. I called Gary, who called me back drunk and threatened me. We stopped payment on the check and sent Rusty a new check for $3905.67 for our roof and gutters. The gutters had not yet been repaired. On April 28, the roof was hit by another hail storm. Rusty called us April 30 and told us he would take great care of us personally due to what we had been through with Gary. He then sent out a subcontractor to fix our gutters. Rusty came on May 23 and did a new estimate for our roof and garage door. He then told us there was an overage from the first job of $247.82 and he would send us a check. The estimate also deducted the gutters. In July he finally sent a subcontractor to replace our garage door. He then called my husband and left him a message that he did not want to do our roof any longer. My husband returned his call and got his voicemail. A couple of weeks later, Rusty called and said he was willing to do our flat roof. My husband told him he wanted the whole roof replaced. Rusty told my husband he was really busy because of the storm and he would get back with him. In October, I called Rusty and left him a voicemail asking when we could get our roof done. He called me back November 3. I asked him to call my husband and set it up. My husband called him and left him messages on his voicemail on November 6 and November 9. Rusty called me back on November 30. At that time I told him that we no longer wanted him to do our roof because of the delays and never getting the refund for the overage paid and asked him to send me a bill for the garage door. He said he would check on it the following Monday and send me a bill. We did not get a bill. On January 8, 2013, Rusty called me and told me that I owed him for the garage door, the gutters and a 20 percent cancelation fee. I have read the contract thoroughly and there is nothing about a cancelation fee. I have advised him that he has been paid for the gutters in the first job and what date he was paid. I have also told him that he never sent us a check for the $247.82 that he owes us. On January 18 he offered to come by and pick up a check for these things, that he had never sent us a bill for. I asked him to send a bill please. On January 25, I called Rusty to discuss the bill. I again told him that we had already paid for the gutters. I told him I would be happy to pay for the garage door and that he had never sent us a check for the overage. He told me that he was filing a lien on my house. I told him I would contact the Better Business Bureau. He began to cuss me up one side and down the next. He then gave the phone to his girlfriend, Christine. She told me that Rusty told her we were drunks and that he had gotten drunk with us while he was doing our estimate. (He did smoke in my house without permission and made my house stink.) She also told me that I slur my words on the phone. She told me I need to join AA. She told me that they pay for their A+ rating with the BBB and they would not take a complaint from me just because I cannot pay my bills. And we still don't have a new roof. And we've been double billed. I have the canceled checks, the insurance claims and paperwork, the estimates and contracts from Altmann Roofing, the four different Final Bills from Altmann Roofing. And now on top of everything else, it is raining cats and dogs. Guess what, the roof is leaking. We can see light at our chimney in an unfinished area of our house. Never use this company.

They came to the door after the hail storm and they did excellent work. They really worked with us on the deductible and other things. The quality was excellent. I would absolutely use them again.
Description of Work: Altmann Roofing replaced the roof, the shingles, gutters, vents and facing around the windows. We had insurance and $10,000.00 is what they would allow.
