ABC Quality Moving & Storage

This was my second time using ABC Quality Moving. I used them less than 2 years ago and at that time, I had a good experience and I gave them a good review. This time was a different story. George and Darrell arrived early so punctuality was excellent. George was very friendly and Darrell was quiet but polite. For the most part, the two guys did a good job with the move. There were just 2 problems with the move but these problems ruined my experience with the company as they handled it so badly. I had originally planned on using them again because I just put my belongings into temporary storage, but now I will probably go with one of the 3 other companies that I had considered for this move that were rated well on Angie's List. The first problem was that they broke a desk that was worth about $250. It was only particle board but it was a large high-quality desk for its kind. This desk was moved before by two other guys who I believe were more experienced and they didn't have any problems with it all. Now the desk is ruined and worthless. (Mistake One) My biggest complaint is that the company had the wrong address of the storage site so it took them approximately an extra 40 minutes to get to the correct storage site. It took me 12 minutes to drive to it and it took them about 52 minutes to arrive there because they entered the wrong address into his google maps (navigation app) on his Samsung phone with Android. I mention these details because I have the exact same phone. (Potential Mistake 2) The mistake could have been mine or the receptionist's - Kerstin. She was adamant that it was my fault but of course she has no way of knowing that or proving it. It could just as easily been her mistake. I would argue it was more likely that she made the mistake in that she is probably working with many customers and different addresses all of the time. It would be easier for her to mistake one for another. I had no reason to use the address that she claims that I gave her. I was in the storage facilities manager's office when I called her with the address and I was asking the manager the address and telling her the exact address that he gave me and I did this in front of the manager and he heard me and didn't correct me which he would have had I told them the wrong address. I used the same phone to type in the address that they said that I gave them and when one enters the address that I gave them, it doesn't even exist! So the ABC Quality just picked the closest address and assumed that it was the right one instead of asking me to confirm with them that it was accurate. (Mistake 3) Another point was that when I talked to Kirsten, I also added a description as to where the facility was located. I told her what highway that it was off of. If she would have included my description in her notes and given it to the drivers then they would have known that they were heading in the wrong direction. (Mistake 4) I had to make two phone calls to the office, the first one to tell them that the truck was not showing up. The second time I called was after the truck arrived about 40 minutes late. I asked her how the late arrival was going to affect my billing and she basically said, "Well I wrote down the address that you gave me." My thought was...and you've never made a mistake recording an address?? I told her that I didn't think it was my fault and that I didn't want to be billed the extra 40 minutes. She said she would talk to the office manager and call me back. She never called me back. (Mistake 5) Instead, she talked to the driver and told him to charge me the full price including the extra 40 minutes when the driver was lost. I thought Kirsten and the office manager handled this very poorly. I feel like I was overcharged $60 due to their mistake plus I had 40 minutes of my day wasted. (Mistake 6) I called and talked to Kirsten at least 4 times in a two day period and when she answered the phone, she never told me her name. The first time I called she put me on hold and forgot me so I had to call her back. I had to ask one of the movers what her name was. (Mistakes 7 & 8) I will not do business with them any more because I think they handled this mistake very badly and were unprofessional. I was a loyal, repeat customer who was going to continue to give them business and they lost my repeat business due to their unprofessional behavior and unwillingness to admit that they may have made some mistakes.

I bet you are stressed because you are moving. Treat yourself to this quality moving company and you will not have to worry at all about your belongings including TVs and computers. Do not forget to tell them you are moving these items, because they bring special boxes and wrapping to protect them. Kevin was the lead mover and he orchestrated the move beautifully. It was close to 100 degrees throughout the move, and not one of the 5 movers complained about the heat. I was melting just watching them. Kevin, Cody, George, Leo and Walt were kind, courteous, and outstanding professionals. They never quit moving all day long. They took every precaution to protect the floors as well as the furniture and walls. I did my own boxing and they handled each box like it was filled with glass. I cannot speak highly enough about this crew. It was very obvious they take pride in their work. I will recommend this company to everyone I know who is moving. There is a reason they have been ranked number one for years on Angie's List! They deserve it. I want to thank all of them for their outstanding dedication and hard labor. It is hard to find quality prfessionals. So look no further!

Dan and Brad were friendly, knowledgeable, very professional and did a very good job. They had no trouble moving the Massage Chair and evening put the arms on the chair without being asked; that was very helpful to me. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use them again.

ABC Quality Moving was a class act from start to finish! It was a pleasure dealing with Christina who provided a quote and made all of the arrangements for a smooth move. Sam and Thomas moved my daughter's furniture and 40 plus boxes from St. Louis, MO. to a storage unit in Northbrook, IL. They were friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use them again.

Our move was great. Thomas, Walt, Michael and Steve were very professional. They genuinely wanted to do a great job which is refreshing these days. All were very concerned about not damaging things and were ready to tackle anything. Here's a good example, I forgot that one of our PODS contained an 850 pound floor safe that I didn't mention when I called. It had to be moved from the POD in front of the house, around to the basement and into a lower level storage room. All four of them wrestled this thing using straps and plywood to protect the yard. Perfect result. I'd highly recommend these guys, well run company that obviously trains their people well. THANK YOU!!!

They were on time and did an okay job.

They were very friendly, fast, and very careful with my belongings. I highly recommend them!

Movers Michael, Darrell, Undray, and George did an excellent job

I really wanted to be able to give Mike and ABC Quality moving a good review. Unfortunately, I am unable to do so. Mike did a good job meeting us and took his time to check over our house and he presented 2 bids as we had asked him to do. Unfortunately, when we called to book the move we did not speak to Mike. We spoke with Christie who said she was the office manager. That's when things went awry. We had asked her to schedule us for the option that Mike had presented that would move our two main floors and our outdoor furniture, leaving our basement and our garage for a later date. It seems that she did not do so, and of her own volition sent a smaller crew and fewer trucks. Let me say this, the crew that showed up was great! They treated us and our stuff very professionally. They were courteous and they worked very hard. However, they did not have enough room to transport all of the items that we had discussed with Mike for the first phase of the move. My wife called and spoke to Mike and he was upset that the job did not go as planned. He agreed to split the cost of a second trip with us. When I called back to speak to him and have it scheduled, I spoke with Christie. She refused to allow me to speak with Mike. She likewise refused to take a message for him. She was rude and combative. She claimed the error was our fault and that they would do nothing to fix the situation. She then claimed that she was not the one who scheduled our move with us on the phone and that whoever it was still did it correctly. I called back several times and received the same rude and dismissive treatment from her. One would think that they would like to take care of customers who were asking for more service and had as much to move a second time a week later. All I can say is that the guys who did the moving did a great job. We will not be using them again, however, due to the abysmal customer service experience that the office manager provided. Mike, if you are reading this, your office manager is driving away business. She is not doing you or your customers any service.

The movers, Kevin, Tim and Leo, did a fantastic job! Those three guys were above and beyond anything I would expect from a moving company - they were extremely professional, did an A+ job packing all of my things, and ensuring everything made it to the new house in perfect condition.

Samuel and Diondre did a great job for us. They were hard-working, careful, and professional. I would use them again and recommend their services.

Greg, Travis and Andre showed up on time and ready to work. One guy concentrated on boxes while the other 2 got all of the furniture down from the 2nd floor. They worked together to get it all onto their truck and then transported it down to the ABF terminal in St Louis. Once there, they unloaded the ABC truck and loaded my trailer (we are moving long distance). This was all accomplished in 3 hours and it paid to have a 3rd set of hands. Everything ran smooth and to our great satisfaction. My best tip for a smooth and quick move: have all of your items prepared, stretch wrapped, taped up and organized and hire ABC!

The two movers, Jim and Samuel, showed up on time at our old rental. I walked them through the house showing them the pieces they were to move. They were professional and courtesy throughout the entire day. I was amazed at how quickly they got everything out and in great condition. We had a small problem at the new house because they could not pull in the driveway due to the cars parked on the street. Luckily my neighbor came out and moved his vehicle so they could pull up in front of the house. As efficiently as they packed the items, they unpacked them. Jim and Sam did an excellent job moving all the pieces in and getting them to their place. I was so pleased with their service. The only hang up was that ABC does not take checks and I was not made aware of that. It was fine, I just used my credit card but I wish it would have been laid out a bit more clear before the service. I would highly recommend this company to anyone (especially hearing from some friends about their moving experience!)

These guys did an outstanding job. This move took two full days and they stuck with it from beginning to end with professionalism and a great attitude even though it was hot and difficult work. Samuel, Carlos, Michael and Mike D. were the gentlemen who did all of the work and they were outstanding. Everything got moved with no damage to any of the houses or furniture. We had a lot of boxes with fragile contents and nothing was broken. They showed up on time each day with a good attitude and made sure we were satisfied with everything before they left. I recommend them highly and we will use them again when we move into the house we are building.

Thomas and Sam were very nice and did a really good job. They even helped me move furniture into the basement which was not part of the original move. However, I'm a bit picky so here are the faults: - only after scratching my hardwood floors was protective material used (I had to observe this as I was not informed of the scratches) - the front door was removed for better access but upon replacing, the door stops were not replaced correctly. - my office desk was not re-assembled (it's in the unfinished basement as temporary storage and is not a big deal but still) - my laundry hanger was disassembled (I really didn't see why this needed to be done) and was not re-assembled - my master bed was not re-assembled correctly. I'm told there were no screws holding the baseboards in place but at least put them back in straight and not lean and let me know w/o me having to find out. I would recommend and use again though with some ground rules and/or suggestions next time (like I said, I'm a bit critical).

The movers arrived promptly and loaded quickly. At the delivery site, they had to move everything up 16 steps to the second floor, including a piano. Everything arrived on time, in excellent condition. The movers themselves, Tim, Frank and George on the pick-up end, and Tim and Frank on the delivery end, were efficient, professional and friendly. We could not be more pleased with every detail of this move.

I wasn't done packing when they got there - no problem they finished packing into big crates I have a ton of stuff - 3 BDRs, full basmt + garage, they started at 9 had it all packed in a few hours, and unloaded at new house by 3:30. No damages at either house or to belongings

Got exactly what was promised. Three movers (Greg, Undra, and Chris H) showed up on time and got started right away. They were very professional and efficient and extremely courteous throughout the move. The move took a bit longer than I expected, but that was due to our large volume of stuff. The guys worked hard throughout and never complained. I would definitely hire them again.

Showed up during the time slot they were supposed to. We walked the house to give them an overview of what all needs to be moved. They worked v ery hard and quickly. They took great precaution in protecting all of our valuables. This is the second time i have used them and would use them again. Billy, Tim, Michael, Kevin B. and Justin did a great job.

Kevin and Tim of ABC did a stellar job. It was quick, professional, and without any damage. Not much else to add. I was worried that because ABC charges by the hour (other moving companies charge by weight or volume), that they would be working slow. But these guys work fast!

Could not have gone better. The guys were prompt and very professional and pleasant. They were very careful with the furniture, wrapping the upholstered pieces in plastic. They moved some difficult and heavy pieces including a glass dining room table and a heavy china cabinet with ease. It was an unusual move because they moved an apartment in the morning and then a house in the afternoon. All of it went into another house and was all delivered and unloaded in one day. Very very pleased with the move.

Everything was great, we had 2 trucks and 4 men, men worked hard, nothing was damaged, completed in one day.

Billy, Sam, and Chris P. were great. They showed up right at 8:30 (they gave me a window of 8:30-9:30) and had everything out of our house and on the truck in an hour. We only moved large items from a small ranch (888) square foot home with some items in the basement. It was raining and they took care to cover everything up and put down pads so they didn't track mud/dirt into the house. We only moved a 1/2 mile so they followed me to the new location. They had everything unloaded in about an hour and a half at the new place. All in all it took 3 1/2 hours (they have an hour for travel time). I would recommend them to anyone who is moving and I would use them if we ever move again.

Called and got a price quote over the phone. Had 3 bedrooms, living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, basement, patio furniture to move. Mike quoted me 3 movers and one truck. He said they would be there around 8:30 - 9:30am. They arrived at 8:45am. They started right away and felt like they were 'hustling' which was good since we were paying them by the hour. They took 2 trips, but packed the truck the first trip so there wasn't any room to get the extra furniture in the truck. The movers were professional and nice. We did not have them move any boxes (we packed and moved all boxes on our own) so I cannot speak to the care for fragile items, but I would trust them to move them if we move again. The overall pricing was slightly less than the other moving company we had gotten a quote from and ABC was more eager for the business. Would definitely use them and recommend them to others.
