Every detail, start to finish, fantastic! This was an insurance claim, so we were asked to get 3 estimates. Gary's estimate was significantly lower than the others, but he had been highly recommended to us by a former student of his, so we had confidence that his lower bid was no reflection of lesser quality. We were right - his attention to detail and overall workmanship are nothing short of phenominal. I had sent Gary photos and measurements of our furniture via email. He called to see when he could come out and take his own measurements, to be certain he could give us an accurate estimate. He arrived punctually, took the measurements, told us his availability, and spent time discussing our fabric preferences so he would have a good idea what to look for should we decide to hire him. He did not charge for coming out to measure or for the estimate that followed. As soon as we got authorization from the insurance company, he gave us a date he would pick up the furniture, and then did so, right on schedule. We are admittedly extremely particular, and as each piece came back to us we could only marvel at his extraordinary workmanship and attention to detail. He is a true upholstery master - not to mention one of the nicest guys we've ever met. He also worked directly with the insurance company to make everything run as smooth as possible. We couldn't have asked for anything more. If anyone is on the fence about who to hire to do upholstery, I would say emphatically look no further than Gary Hardy of G. L. Hardy Design. Price, workmanship, dependability, all superior. In fact, the restoration guy we've been working with told us he's been so impressed with Gary that he's putting him at the top of his reupholstery referral list as well.
