It went great... we hired Rick originally to do hardwood floors for us (see my other report under hardwood floors) and when he told us he also did drywall and ceiling texture removal, we were really happy. This work was done in preparation for a total kitchen remodel. Rick had the floors torn up and cleaned out in two days. He had ceilings scraped, taped, primed and painted in another two. Since we were going to him for both the ceiling and hardwood floors, he gave a fantastic deal on the demolition and other misc. touchups... essentially billing us at a very affordable hourly rate. The ceiling and drywall is perfect. You'd never be able to tell we previously had huge soffits, acoustic spray, different lighting arrangements, etc.
Description of Work: Removed acoustic ceiling texture, mud and taped ceiling drywall joints, primed & painted ceiling (approx 600 sq ft). Additional drywall touch-ups on nearby walls and doorways. Removed porcelain tile and cement underlay in preparation for kitchen remodel.

Everything went great...exactly as promised. This was part of a massive kitchen remodel and we selected Charms from four considered vendors. Rick started exactly when he said he would and was at our house 10+ hours a day until it was finished. He only works with one client at a time so we had his undivided attention. Although he was reluctant at first to install a pre-finished product, he really listened to us when we explained that, with two small kids and a dog, we just couldn't have that large an area untouchable for so long.
Description of Work: Installed a pre-finished solid white oak floor in kitchen, dining room and office area (approximately 600 square ft).

HE CAME OVER EVERY MORNING BETWEEN 6 AND 7AM, AND WORKED UNTIL AT LEAST 5PM EACH DAY. THE WOOD I PURCHASED HAD SOME MAJOR FITMENT PROBLEMS, AND RICK TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE SURE EVERY PIECE FIT PERFECTLY, WHETHER IT WAS GETTING OUT THE ROUTER TO MACHINE THE PIECE A BIT BETTER, RUNNING IT THROUGH THE PLANER, OR SHAVING A BIT OFF WITH THE SAW. I THINK MOST INSTALLERS WOULD HAVE WALKED AWAY BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE FLOORING, BUT HE MADE EACH PIECE FIT PERFECTLY. HE ONLY WORKS ON ONE JOB AT A TIME, SO YOU GET HIS UNDIVIDED ATTENTION. AND, HE CLEANS UP EVERYTHING AT THE END OF THE DAY SO YOU DON'T HAVE TOOLS AND TRASH LAYING ALL OVER THE PLACE. HIS QUOTE WAS SPOT ON WHAT I PAID, NO LITTLE CHARGES HERE AND THERE. AND THE CRAFTSMANSHIP IS PERFECT. HE WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME BY SOMEONE ''IN THE BIZ'', AND I'M GLAD I HAD HIM DO THE WORK. THE FLOOR HE DID IN MY HOUSE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL, AND THE WORK HE DID IN A FRIEND'S HOUSE LOOKS AMAZING ALSO.
Description of Work: I HAD RICK COME OUT TO GIVE ME A QUOTE ON FINISHING THE NEW FLOORS I WAS INSTALLING, HOWEVER, DECIDED TO HAVE HIM DO THE ENTIRE THING. IT'S ROUGHLY 500 SQ. FT, AND 2 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS.
