Wolf River Electric

I wish i saw Amanda's review before i went with Wolf River. I am on the tail of of a 32 panel ground mount install. It has been frustrating the whole way. Sales tactics are aggressive, "prices go up at midnight sign now". I should have listened to my gut and backed out. I was assured it was true and shown an email from a Wolf Rive exec. They didn't identify that my off-peak wouldn't after the solar installation. MY utility company notified me, i asked WRE to cancel project. Told it was to late to back out, if i wanted to pay $5k, that would satisfy them. Array installed Thursday, in the wrong location, was told it was installed there because of code. I asked for the code referenced and a copy of the site survey. 2 business days later, no response. They informed the financial institute and utility provider, install was complete. I have since informed them of the situation and hopefully stopped payment before it was too late. Would like lower rating for them

Would leave negative stars if possible. They must be paying people to leave positive reviews because this company is a complete joke. This is the absolute most unprofessional, despicable and deplorable - shady company we have ever worked with in our lives. Still now a year later still having issues from Wolf River. Also -- FYI -- they scam you on the loan as well. Apparently the whole "first year interest free" is false advertising. The loan still accrues interest and they screw you over after the first year even if paying OVER the amount due. We have had numerous issues with our solar and have to find another company to help us. Wolf Electric damaged our property and took no ownership. Wolf Electric talked poorly about us and were making sexist comments about me on my property--unaware our windows were open and i could hear everything. Oh- not to mention we got billed before the job was even finished and honestly do not even trust our panels were installed properly. Trust me - as someone who worked closely with HVAC and electronical work - stay FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM WOLF RIVER!!! Have friends and family who want solar and we also have another home in Crivitz we want to get solar installed at - EVEN IF THIS REVIEW SAVES ONE OTHER PERSON FROM THIS NIGHTMARE OF THIS COMPANY IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!

I would have loved to be one of many who gave 5-star reviews, but our experience with WRE was pretty bad except for the initial sales phase. It went downhill from there: - Late or no-shows for appointments - Wrong design that could not be installed, no re-design - Terrible communication throughout the project - Unsafe behavior of the installers (throwing heavy metal pieces from roof without checking/seeing who might be there or picking them up, my neighbor ran over one while mowing) - Failed inspection and admitted negligence by installers ("inspectors typically do not go onto the roof, ours did") - Over a month of wait time to fix inspection findings - Missed HOA approvals - Trash sitting in our driveway - No accountability from WRE leadership Maybe our project is the exception, but I would not recommend Wolf River Electric to anyone.

when discussing the solar system with the sale rep Brandon Lotsberg, he told us that our solar system would create enough power to offset our electric usage AND our solar payment with the exception being the months of December and January. He also told us that in the winter, all I had to do was clear some of the snow off of the panels and the panels would create heat as they produced power which in turn would clear the remainder of the snow on its own. He also referred to the Federal Energy Tax Credit as a Rebate and told us that we would be able to use that money to pay down our solar system further reducing the finance amount. These statements were misleading and fraudulent. According to Brandon, the system would end up being free with little to no out of pocket expense, but instead this system is costing me $500 a month and that's not including the cost of my electric when the system isn't producing enough due to weather. Had I known i was being lied to I never would have got this system as I can NOT afford it and it is most likely going to cause me to lose my home.

Buyer Beware. Wolf River damaged our newly installed roof while trying to install solar panel brackets in late October 2022. They have violated our property and MN codes in the process. A structural engineer inspected the damage done to our property and we found out that our roof joists can't handle what Wolf River proposed to us. Even with Wolf River coming to 'inspect' our attic and roof before the project started. On top of that, they are so money hungry that they over sold us on solar panels. AND already have the full amount of the loan in their pockets even though the brackets installed have to come down and solar panels, boxes, and trash have been laying in our yard since late October 2022. Their excessive drilling into our roof and them not repairing the holes per MN code has caused water damage to our property. Check your attics and roof for water damage if you have used Wolf River to install solar panels - personal experience can assure you their 'special caulk' to plug their drill holes are not enough to protect your property from weather damage. There is more disappointing and unprofessional conduct by Wolf River (including their owner, Justin Nielsen.) that has occurred in this process. We tried working with Wolf River for months as they bullied us into giving up; until we hired a lawyer. We are hopeful our property can be restored to its original condition, before Wolf River stepped foot on our property. We do not recommend Wolf River. We strongly encourage you to run and not turn back. If you are naive in the solar panel process, be assured by personal experience, Wolf River will take advantage of you.

they were all available anytime I needed before the installation but the second they finished installing I couldn't get a hold of them, I tried all their phones until finally I got someone to talk to about whether the system was on plus there was a leak and it took more than 2 months after they installed it for them to come back and turn it on so I have bills to pay for when I didn't even have the system turned on. I would try a bigger company that you could easily get a hold of. overall I regret going solar cause I know I will not get the help I need if there are issues with panels or the system.

The service was great. The communication was great. They set an expectation and they did what they said they would do. They would be the first I'll call if I needed another service.

Our rep Brandon was so professional and knowledgeable. I’ve already recommended him to friends. He gave us a great discount and we are already seeing the savings in our excel energy bill. Absolutely thrilled with the purchase!

Brandon was awesome! Saved us money and gave us a free upgrade to LG solar panels. Now the utility company pays us each month - I'd highly recommend!
