Steve responded immediately for my request to meet for an estimate of the project; three other Angie's List members did not bother to respond (one other did, whom I met with). I hired Steve to paint the interior of my townhouse, which included removal of wallpaper borders in two rooms and complete wallpaper removal in one room. I especially liked the way he estimated the project for me: a separate price for painting each room, and a range of prices for the wallpaper removal, from low (easy) to high (a real pain) for each room. I therefore knew upfront my maximum exposure. His workmanship was superb, not only the painting but, most importantly, the preparation of all surfaces for painting. Holes were filled, wallpaper was removed, and the walls were then prepared perfectly for the paint, each one sanded and smooth. Steve was punctual, made changes that i requested, and finished on time and within budget. I cannot recommend him more highly and would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to others.

We're delighted with the results, and Steve is a great guy. First time we used Angie's list. Steve came to estimate on the same day we called him. He said he was busy for a couple of weeks, but came to do the work when he said he would. We'll be calling him back and recommending to friends.

He did an outstanding job, was always on time and worked hard during the day. He was very detail oriented, fixing nail pops, and any blemishes on the walls before finishing them. Steve did an outstanding job painting rooms and spraying ceilings in my home. He was punctual and kept me informed as to when he would be arriving and leaving each day. His work is impecable. He cleaned up and fixed a poor painting job we recently experienced. He did a remarkable job with what he had to work with from the previous painter. I just wanted to express how great of an experience we had finding Steve on Angie's List. We read his good reviews and chose to hire him to do some painting in our house. Steve showed up the very next day to give us a quote and came in to work the following day. Steve did a very detailed job that was difficult to do. He also repaired the ceiling that was patched by a previous painter and when he was done, you coudn't tell there was ever an issue. At the last minute, we asked him a few questions about how to paint a fire place (I was going to do it myself). He told me a little bit about how to do it but then offered to take it home that night and do it at his house on his own time. The next day he dropped it off and it looked fabulous! Steve was professional, friendly and quoted honestly. We are extremely happy with the work he did in our home and would recommend him to anyone. We hired Steve Schultze to do the drywall repair and painting of both the ceiling and the walls, and were happy with the results. The original builder of our house did a terrible job drywalling our attached 3-1/2 car garage, evidently doing the minimum required to meet building codes. The seams were taped and mudded, but never sanded at all. The nails and screws weren’t even mudded. The drywall wasn’t primed or painted, and many joints were uneven. Everything was white originally, so it didn't look that bad when we moved in, but 20 years later, the sheetrock had yellowed, had some water stains, and the tape was peeling and cracking in spots. It looked awful. When Steve came out to give us a bid, he asked us whether we wanted the walls to be as smooth as interior walls when he was done, or if some imperfections were okay, since it was just a garage. We chose the less labor-intensive job, to save money. We didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars on the garage -- we just wanted it to look decent. In fact, another bid we received was for $3,300, nearly five times what we paid. In the end, we got what we paid for, and are satisfied. We had no problem with dust or paint drips on the floor. There are a few rough and uneven areas, and small imperfections that could have been fixed, but they aren’t that noticeable. Good enough for a typical garage, and far better than it used to look. Steve was a pleasure to deal with, and we would hire him again.

Steve came out one evening and gave an estimate which was reasonable. Had the work done on 6/13 and he came back the next afternoon to finish up. He did two coats of paint and his work was very neat and the finished walls look great. Professional and thorough job. If I have more painting in the future, wouldn't hesitate to call him.

Steve did an excellent job on the bathroom and is very professional (punctual, courteous, skilled). He was willing to work with oil-based primer and paint (which not all interior painters are willing to do because it takes extra skill and drying time). The job was neatly and carefully done and he cleaned up the room well. I would recommend Steve to owners of old houses, where the the plaster walls and odd quirks can be challenging.

Steve painted our laundry room, showed up when he said he would, did a great job, and charged exactly what he quoted. He did very nice work.

Our home looks fantastic! Steve was awesome with our walls and kind to our kids. I may never pick up a paintbrush again.

Very prompt in returning calls. Did a great job. Ceilings were very high, so a difficult job. Always showed up when he said he would. Cleaned up well. Called back to see if everything was OK or needed to be addressed.

Work was neat and professional. Painter even took down drapes and rehung after work completed and even watered flowers outside (during a dry spell--home was empty). Painting and drywall repair was excellent. Home was unoccupied during work and painter was provided a key.

It went okay. House was empty so the painter had a key and worked on the project over a couple of weeks because we were not in a hurry. Our insurance company paid most of the cost and we had the painter do some additional work that was needed. The work was very neat. No mess was left behind. He painted a room twice because I gave him the wrong paint color.The painter was very business like and punctual.

It took 2 days and he did a great job. Very organized and equipped. He also fixed an old spot in our bathroom ceiling where it had leaked and it looks great. Very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely use Steve again for painting.

Steve was great. He painted while we were on vacation. When we got home, you couldn't even tell he was there except for the new paint. Everything was clean and the job was extremely professional. He also was able to do the job for less than his estimate. We will definitely use his services again. He took the time to listen to us and made sure to do the little things we asked for. In addition, he replaced some tile in the bathroom that was coming loose. I couldn't be happier.

It was a pleasure having Steve work in our home. He is very personable, prompt, professional and his craftsmanship second to none. All the work was done in a timely fashion. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the results. We will certainly include Steve in any future painting projects and not hesitate to recommend him to our family and friends.

I cannot say enough good things about Steve's professionalism and quality of work! He returned my calls promptly, always arrived and left when he said he would, and respected my home by covering the floors and furniture. Prior to painting, he spent significant time prepping the walls and removing old paint from the woodwork. After the prep work, Steve applied 2 coats of paint to each room; part of his standard practice. Two weeks after the job was complete, I received a follow-up phone call from Steve asking if everything looked OK. Okay? I thought. It looks fantastic!!

Steve was able to start the job quickly and was always considerate in communicating when he would start work in the mornings. The job took a day or two longer than he had included in the bid, but Steve stuck to his bid and did first rate painting throughout the entire house. He didn't rush at the end to be done quickly. There were not any surprises with Steve, he would always give me a few days notice of when he would start in the next room and was very patient and helpful with color selections. I would hire him again in a second. He kept his work area neat and was a detailed painter. He worked so hard to remove the old paint from our woodwork. Steve is very professional and friendly. We felt comfortable with him in our home. Our house looks beautiful!

It was an excellent job. Steve called me back promptly after I left a message. I thought the job was probably too small for Steve to take, as I suspected he did primarily larger jobs. This turned out to be true, however, he said he would fit me into his schedule and he did quickly, coming for a estimate, which was very reasonable, within 2 days. He called right away when he realized he would be somewhat late for the evening appointment. He painted the next week. There were no drops or spills and everything was neat. I had no worries about leaving my house to him. All went very smoothly, and I would certainly like to call him again. I expect my next job will be bigger. Steve called me back to check on the work and see if I had any problems or questions. I had none. I had no problem recommending him, with his permission, to a friend with a larger project. This was a professional job, done by a professional.
