Description of Work: John rewired an outlet to it's own circuit for a portable A/C unit. He fit me into his schedule the same day I called. He was prompt and was able to do the job the same day. Great service. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again. Everything went well and I'm happy with his work.

Description of Work: I called John because we lost power to half of our house. He was here in about 5 minutes because he was working on another project nearby. He quickly diagnosed the issue and immediately began work. 5 hours later and 1500 bucks lighter we have a brand new electric panel properly sealed to avoid the moisture issues that were the root of the problem. John and his assistant were extremely friendly and professional and he will definitely be called for any future work.

Description of Work: called John, for estimate for bathroom heater/fan installation. He wanted e mail to him to set up date, took me a week to get e mail correct. Then took him another week to respond to my e mail. Date for estimate had to be resched due to family issues. He did come out soon after this and did give me an estimate but not in writing. Asked me to write down the price he quoted. we agreed he would do the work for bathroom fan/heater installation. He was going to price out the fans and I had to contact him re this 8-9 days later since I had not heard from him. He did get back to me within a day and had a price and choices and was able to come out in 5 days for installation. He and partner did the work,. They were very efficient, and covered their traffic areas so as not to stain carpet and did great job cleaning up after themselves. Price was higher than expected, but have not had electric done in a while and did not get second estimate to compare.

Description of Work: Professional and prompt with no surprises and nothing left for me to clean up. John did some work for us repairing tornado damage and noticed a very dangerous issue with a neighbor's home. The work had been done by a drive-by handyman shopping for work after the storm. John immediately arranged for Xcel to come out and fix it. He did not try to sell additional services but made every effort to make it safe again. John Kivel Electric may not be the cheapest option but if you want electrical work done right, it is a great choice.

Description of Work: John repaired storm damage to my home. Installed a new mast and secured power to the house.

Description of Work: On Saturday (7/14) the power went out of some of our outlets and appliances. I called our Co-Op electric company and they appeared within 45 minutes. The problem was in the circut box were some of the wiring was very hot and burned. They did a temporary fix and requested that I call a contractor. I found John on your list and called at 3.45. I assumed he had left for the day and I called another contractor. The electrician examined the problem and proceeded to prepare a quote, which I thought was high, but at that point we had no airconditioing so I signed a contract and he requested payment in full. I comprimised at 50%. On Sunday I called john again and described the problem. He arrived within 45 minutes gave me a quote (which was 50% less) He arrived Monday morning (predicted temperature for day 100) He arrived early and he and his brother went to work. Our power was out for only 3 hours and the wrok was completed in thee and a half hours. To say that I am impressed would be an understatement. Description of Work: John installed 3 pendant lights in my dining room. All three had to be hardwired separately. His measurements were perfect. No plaster or ceiling cracks were produced. He cleaned up everything. He worked on a Sunday morning because I could only be home on the weekend. He also swapped out a switch and dimmer in my bathroom. The price was exactly what he quoted on the phone. He called Sunday morning to say that he would be a half an hour late. When he was done with the electrical work he stayed to hang a heavy painting. He didn't charge me anything for that in order to make up for being late. He did good work and he is a good guy.

Description of Work: We had the 50 yr old light fixture in our dining room burn out on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, along with a burning smell emanating from the light switch which caused us to kill the power to our entire kitchen/dining area for safety concerns. I called that day, hoping to reach someone to come to my house the next week. The owner answered the phone, and offered to come over that very afternoon and replace the light and deal with the wiring. He handled an old cracked and not flat ceiling with ease, and was very gracious. His price was at the regular rate, despite it being the Sunday of a holiday weekend. Very good service.
