The two gentlemen that installed the carpet did an excellent job. They were very professional. It looks great and we are so happy with the installation and quality of the carpet.

I was very happy with my whole experience at Erskine Interiors in Eden Prairie. Garrett and Aiden were very knowledgeable about their products. They guided me through the process of choosing my hardwood flooring and helped me pick my area rugs from their amazing choices. The installation was great! The installer, Joe, explained everything he was doing and made sure I was happy with the job. He did a great job cleaning up each night and when he was finished. I also appreciated the great customer service from others I spoke to on the phone in the scheduling and business departments. They were always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Erskine Interiors in Eden Prairie!

Although the quality of the carpet installation was great, the communication from Erskine Interiors office and schedulers was inconsistent and, at times, antagonistic. Here is a brief summary of what challenged me regarding communication from the schedulers: Scheduling the first installation appointment without checking with me about my schedule Failing to send instructions for preparing the space to be carpeted Canceling the second appointment without telling me or providing an opportunity to complete preparations (this took about 15 minutes) - the installers simply walked off the job Failing to answer the phone when I called to ask why the installers had left When I was able to get a call through, the scheduler assigned to my job claimed to be “unavailable to talk” for the entire day When I was able to persuade another scheduler to talk with me, he accused me of screaming at the installers and slamming a door in their face (this did not happen) Changing the third installation appointment from 12:00-4:00 p.m. to 10:30-11:30 a.m. (according to an email) or 10:00-12:00 (according to a voice mail) the night before We did not choose Erskine Interiors - they were assigned to us through a Home Depot purchase. I have worked with many different tradespeople in the 12 years we have been maintaining our home, and no one has been as rude to me as the schedulers at Erskine. I do want to make it clear that the installers were considerate.

He told me the building did not have any inventory, but they said they would look for it. So, I am confused as too why they would on one hand say they didn't have it at all, but then say they would look for it??

This place is a JOKE. On a Friday in March, I stopped in the Hudson store on my way home from work to inquire about getting an estimate for our renovation, which they advertise for. We are gutting the entire main living floor which includes 3 beds, bath, kitchen, dining, living room, entry way, plus a bath on the lower level. Floors to ceilings, end to end, even knocking down a wall and rebuilding a staircase.Point being it's a big, expensive project most businesses would be happy to get. I spoke with Tanya there who explained that she was new and was not yet familiar with their process. She said that she and the owner had an appointment the next day for another remodel and so she would learn their process during that appointment and call me right afterward to discuss. I gave her my cell and our home phone numbers. We did not hear from her and so on Tuesday, I called her. Another lady answered and said Tanya was busy but I heard Tanya in the background say that she would call me back in about an hour. Since I was at work, I left my work phone # for her to call back. I still didn?t hear from her by the end of the following day, so I stopped there again on my way home from work. Tanya apologized for not calling me back, saying she was busy. I let it go and we made an appointment for her to come out to our house the following week. She said she would send me an email to confirm our appt and so I gave that to her. I never got an email so on the morning of our appointment, I emailed her. Never did get a reply but she did show up and on time that evening. She spent about an hour and a half with us, taking all measurements and writing down everything that we wanted done, room by room. We then set an appt for me to come in to the store and pick out the bigger items we would need. I spent two hours in the store picking out carpet, tile, wood floor, countertop, backsplash, and a few other things. She wrote it all down and said that she had enough to get the bulk of the estimate done and would call me the next week to set up another appt for us to come back to the store to discuss the estimate she was going to draft. That was on April 15th and we haven?t heard a peep from her since. After all the chasing I had to do just to get to the point that we got to with her, there was no way I was going to keep chasing. I shouldn?t have done it in the first place but I was trying to be understanding of a new person who was very busy and I was hoping for the best ? dumb me. I shouldn?t have to say that it is incredibly rude, disrespectful and unprofessional to just ignore people. Neither she nor anyone else at Erskine even had the common courtesy to take 30 seconds for an email or a phone call to say that they would not help us for whatever reason ?don?t want to, don?t have time - doesn?t matter, could?ve said anything - as long as something was said, we would?ve accepted that. We are spending a LOT of money on this renovation but apparently our money is not good enough for Erskine! So now we have a contractor hired and are shopping. We stopped at ?The Floor Center? in Woodbury and did not know they were an Erskine store until we pulled into the parking lot and saw Erskine trucks. Although we both looked at each other like ?uh oh? and had a bad feeling about it, we went in anyway. I started looking through their tile samples but couldn?t find what I had picked out in Hudson, which I really liked. I had been hoping to find something at least close to it. In conversation with the gentleman at that store, we mentioned our frustration with Erskine and Tanya and he agreed it was ?bad customer service? and said he would ?never do that?. I mentioned that it would be nice to know what I picked out in the Hudson store but I didn?t write it down. He said he could get our file from them and let us know. So, we liked that idea and gave him our phone number. Didn?t hear anything until 9 days later my husband got a call at work from him and he said he lost our info but remembered where my husband worked. A little bit impressive but it did take 9 days. He said he had our file and would send us the info so my husband gave him his email address. That was more than 3 days ago now and we haven?t gotten anything yet. We are definitely not holding our breath. I wouldn?t buy a gumball from these people. At this point, it is so bad that it?s funny. Like I said, this place is a JOKE. On one hand, we are glad that we learned early on in the process how bad they are because we would never want to hire someone like this for anything, but on the other hand, we are very irritated at the lack of basic respect we were given and the time that we wasted on them. Erskine, you don?t want to take our money but we?ll gladly take yours for the 3 ½ plus hours of our time you wasted.

We contracted with the Edina store to have the work done. Right from the beginning of our interactions with this location we felt there were problems. The sales person was very disorganized and unsure of herself. She however tried very hard to gain our business. So hard that the bid ended up to be $3,000 below the competition. We ended up accepting this bid based upon the recommendation of our interior designer. Even before the bid was accepted, Todd Erskine called us to thank us for doing business with his company. This meant to us either at best a major internal communication error or at worst an outright lie by the sales person. Because of that we decided not to communicate through the sales person but with the Hudson office. Once the contact was signed we were then told that they would not do the work without being paid 100% of the contracted amount. Again we (foolishly) made a decision in favor of Erskine. Then one week before the installation was to occur we were told that some of our furniture was too large and we would be charged additional for the its removal from the areas to be carpeted. I neither agreed or disagreed with them on this matter because we had already contracted for this and I did not want to jeprodise the process. I asked repeatedly if the carpet would arrive in time to have the work done at the scheduled time and the answers were always uncertain. As I called the various people in Hudson we were passed from person to person. September 6th was the scheduled date of installation. On the Friday before they finally said that it would be started on that day a 9 am. At the appointed time on the 6th no one arrived at our home. I called and they said he would be there by 10 am. At 10 I called and they said he would be there by 11 am. At 11 I called and the said that the installers truck had broken down and could not come until the next day. Later they called and said that they did not know when he could come. i responded by telling them to rent a truck and have him come in the afternoon. Their response was that his tools were on his truck and he could not get them. After much discussion they said they would have someone else come in the afternoon. Later in the afternoon two guys arrived without carpet and began to remove the old carpet. I asked them where the carpet was and the response was that it was on the way. As time went on and more carpet was removed and more furniture moved I became very concerned about what was really going on. Upon further questioning, I found that the new carpeting was still in Hudson and that there was no intent to get it to us. At this point the entire house full of furniture had been moved several times, our beds were buried beneath doors that had been removed. We were told that they were sorry for the inconvenience and the crew left for the day leaving a pile of carpet in front of the garage, tools and boxes on the front step and no place to sleep We were able to borrow air mattresses from friends but found that most of the house had staples remaining in the floor that would damage the air mattresses. We finally found a place between a desk and the back of a sofa that we could squeeze an air mattress in if it were inflated in place. The night was a nightmare. The next morning we waited for the installation crew to arrive to no avail. After several calls we were told that the crew was in a car accident and we would have to wait until they got out of the hospital to have our work done. I responded by telling them to get the original crew, rent them a truck and get them to the job since that crew was presumably available. Erskine said they would not do that and we would have to wait. In the meantime our sprinkler system went on and completely soaked the carpet sitting in the driveway. Fortunately we were able to get one car out of the garage. I do have to say that some damage to the car occurred in attempting to maneuver around the carpet which now was too heavy for me to move. After several heated discussions with various people at Erskine we finally got them to look for another crew to do the job which they finally did late in the day. At this time we did not know when we would have our carpet installed or where we would sleep. After numerous attempts to contact Todd Erskine he finally responded and consented to provide us with a motel room for the evening The next morning we finally found out that we would have a crew later. They did arrive about 11am and were appalled to see the condition of our home. This crew did a great installation job and were very attentive to us. The job was then completed in two days including the removal on the wet carpet in the driveway and the boxes and tools on the front step. As they began to move our furniture back into position we began to see the damage that occurred with all the the moving and pushing that was dome prior to their arrival. We also found out the when the doors were removed by the prior crew they put tape on them and wrote where they were to be reinstalled. Under that tape their writing can easily be seen after its removal. At no time since this work was done has Erskine contacted us. This is not a surprise because in the course of this project each person involved was very busy blaming someone else and evading dealing with the problems that we were confronted with. Todd Erskine should have intervened, but instead chose to either not answer his cell phone or to not call back. His employees mimicked his behavior by passing us on to others or just not responding to our concerns. In our case we are just thankful that this episode is over and have no real desire to subject ourselves to the behavior of this group of dysfunctional people. Also, thankfully, we did not get billed for the additional moving of and quot;excessively heavyand quot; furniture. We have instead taken it upon ourselves to repair the damage sustained where it can be repaired and live peacefully after the trauma of the week of September 6th. I would not recommend Erskine Interiors for your remodeling needs.
Description of Work: Our entire home was recarpeted. This included the moving of the large items of furniture out of each room, the removal of the old carpeting and pad, the installation of new carpeting, the placement of the large items of furniture back in each room and the disposal of all the the old carpeting and pad material. This was to be a two day process.

Every person I met at Erskine was helpful, professional, and nice to be around. I particularly was impressed with Jim who installed our carpet treads in absolutely perfect alignment. The den carpet is smooth and flush with the walls. He replaced everything under the old carpet and did an outstanding job. This company epitomizes high quality. I plan to have them replace hardwood flooring for me in the future.

Although promised, no one ever bothered to call us to schedule this in home visit. (Strike 1), I assumed that our information was accidentally lost, so we called the store to remind them of our desire to have a sales rep visit our house. The day of the appointment, the sales rep (Bobby) showed up to our house 45 minutes late. (Strike 2). He did a poor job helping guide us in flooring, but I let him take our floor plans so that he could calculate the square footage and give use some guidelines of costs. He NEVER bothered to call us back with the information (Strike 3). I had to call again and ask him for the numbers. Because of my frustration with their terrible customer service, I asked Bobby to return our floor plans in the mail. Two weeks passed and we never received the plans. I had to go into the store and pick them up myself (Strike 4). We tried really hard to give the company the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately for the owners of the business, we are taking our $7000 job somewhere else. I can't recommend Erskine based on our experiences. Hopefully this was an exception to their normal business practices, but I see another posting on here which suggests that you should be concerned with their lack of attention to their customer's needs and expectations.
Description of Work: VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE My wife and I had a strong desire to use a local Flooring company for new flooring in our house so we went to Erskine's showroom. The sales rep was friendly and suggested that we have someone come out to our house to help us determine flooring options. Sounded like a great idea, but this quickly exposed the stores terrible customer service.

Lisa and the rest of the staff were very easy to work with. The installers were prompt, professional, and efficient. There was one piece that was ordered incorrectly, and Lisa told me that they would be there to install it to complete the job within a couple of days. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a call from one of the installers the next day saying that he already had the part and would like to come by our house to complete the job. The floors look so good that we have contemplated extending the same flooring into our dining area. If we decide to do that, we will not think twice about having Erskine do the job for us.
Description of Work: We wanted new wood-look quality laminate flooring to update our kitchen. My husband and I are price conscious, but it is also important to us to give business to small and/or family owned local businesses whenever we can. I also don't like a "hard sell", so I wanted to work with somebody who would not make us feel pressured or rushed. After looking around, we found that Erskine was able to satisfy all of our requirements.

I have nothing but the highest compliments for Erskine Floors and Lisa Smith. Lisa is a great listener and really helped me through the selection process by asking me questions to determine what I really wanted. We explored several options and ended up with the perfect solution. She was never pushy and always responsive. I was thrilled that she ended up saving us some money too by being on the ball and taking advantage of a tile company rep coming to visit. Most importantly, Lisa treated us like her most important customer even though we had a very, very small order. Based on how we were treated, I will come back to Erskine Floors and Lisa to do larger projects because I know they value our business despite its dollar value. The showroom is awesome because it really does highlight the possiblities. I look forward to working with Erskine Floors again and will happily refer them to others.
Description of Work: Lisa helped me select the right material for my job. She showed me all of the options they had available and also offered samples from other companies they work with. She let me take home samples so I could see how they would work with our decor and other finishes. We ended up selecting a beautiful slate for our fireplace hearth. Lisa was able to get us an even better price than quoted because she took advantage of the supplier coming to their location so we didn't have to pay freight! She offered installation, but we are DIY'er's so we will take care of that. She also recommended a floor cleaner for our hardwood floors and it is the best I have ever used -- and it's "green" which is important to me.

Our installation went very well. They were able to work within our time frame. The installation crew was excellent and left the jobsite clean and were respectable while they were here. They finished a 650sq. ft. install with odd angles, seams and staircase in 1/2 a day. The sales people followed up with us after the install to ensure that we had a great experience. Excellent, local company committed to selling quality products and they understand how to meet the customers expectations head-on.
Description of Work: Basement remodel carpet installation - Erskine's helped us pick out carpet after we had been less than impressed at a local big-box retailer....they have a large carpet selection which includes great quality carpet at a very reasonable price. They took a lot of time to explain to us the different types of carpet. We insisted that we wanted a 'green/sustainable' carpet and they had great options to pick from and understood our wishes to have that type of carpet.

We ended up going to their store to review details. Nick hadn't included what we'd asked for. Nick actually got defensive with us and told us to get out. We talked with the owner the next day and actually gave them another chance. After a lot of problems with the company, and dealing with their inability to listen to our requests, and dealing with their lack of integrity and professionalism we fired them.
Description of Work: We contacted them for kitchen remodeling. They sent someone to take measurements and she left samples and said they'd be back in 48 hours. Fourteen days later we called to find out what was going on. They sent Nick, a designer. He took measurements again and explained what would happen. We were specific to our details and Nick promised drawings on that Friday. My wife took the afternoon off to meet with him. Fifteen minutes before the appointment Nick called and said he couldn't be there.
