Capital Siding Windows & Roofing

Capital did a great job despite insurance company errors and delays, a difficult site with little clear access to a multi-slope roof, and very uncooperative weather. A couple of phone calls, a couple of e-mails to make choices of colors and materials, and a couple of days when we knew they'd been there because of progress on the roof, and it was all done. They were very careful - no materials ended up on an organic vegetable garden two feet from the edge of the roof - and very conscientious, even calling us before leaving to make sure we knew there might be a few splinters inside the garage since we weren't home to open it for their cleaning-up process. They matched their cost to the insurance payment (roof was being replaced due to hail damage). Due to the weather they worked at least 12 hours on a Sunday in order to get the roof finished before snow (I'm been remiss in procrastinating this review so long and am barely sneaking it in under the 6-month deadline). I would recommend them to anyone, and we will probably be using them again for some gutter repairs and some other exterior upgrades we're considering.

We received three estimates for our windows and siding project, and Capital was the clear choice. We wanted to find a single contractor who was proficient with both windows and siding, and we found that with Capital. For the initial estimate, Jeff came out to our house and we knew from the start that he was the most perceptive to what we were hoping to accomplish with the job. He was very knowledgeable of all aspects of the job (instead of just the sales portion that we sensed with the other contractors) which was very reassuring. Rather than tell us how he thought we should do everything, Jeff listened to what we wanted, gave his sincere professional opinion, and then ultimately let us decide on what we wanted done. His estimate was very competitive with the other estimates we received, which made the decision to go with Capital even easier. Bryan was the lead worker on the job for both the windows and siding, and was someone we immediately felt comfortable working with. He took complete ownership of his work, which was nothing less than perfect with his strong attention to detail. He was good about communicating his schedule for the job, cleaned up around the house daily, and overall was a pleasure to work with. His work ethic was impressive all around, particulary considering he did the work on the house during the coldest and snowiest time of the winter. Overall we can't say enough good things about the entire Capital crew . We would certainly recommend them and would use them for any future projects. Thank you Jeff, Sheila, Bryan, and Tim.

Jeff came out promptly for the estimate. He was knowledgeable and professional; and his suggestions were informative and helpful. We were interested in changing the windows from sliders to double hung. Before this change could be approved, Jeff made sure that the windows met the fire regulations in our city (Roseville). Jeff?s price was considerably less than a larger company that bid on the job. Scheduling of the job was done in a reasonable amount of time. Bryan, who installed the windows, was excellent to work with. The project didn?t interrupt our living in the house. Bryan cleaned up every evening and started and ended at a reasonable time each day. His craftsman skills are awesome. He had to custom cut and stain some wood trim around the windows, which turned out beautifully. The windows look great! We were grateful that Bryan was so easy going regarding the animals we have in our home. Even during a thunderstorm, Bryan comforted our golden retriever, who was having issues with the storm! An added bonus, Bryan was willing to tackle other projects during the window installation. He fixed our front door and put on a new door handle. Bryan is a ?can do? guy. The process was painless and easy. Jeff and Bryan were very reachable and if we had any questions or concerns, large or small, they were quick to respond. We felt trustworthy of Bryan to be in our house alone. We recommend Capital Siding and Windows to anyone who is looking for a professional experience with window replacements.

This was a complete residing job worth $25,000 but they never got back with an estimate. Some of the information they gave me was incorrect when they came to look at the job was incorrect. We had the job done by a different contractor.

I was less satisfied with their presentation. I just thought that the guy wasn't quite as knowledgeable on the siding that I wanted installed on my house.

"Wow" is the best way to describe our experience with Jeff and his crew! They provide exceptional craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. I collected two or three additional bids for this project, but just knew from the beginning that I would have a great experience working with Capital. Their bid was right in line with the others, none of the bids varied too greatly. Every person on his crew was punctual and courteous and most importantly cared about doing a great job. The one thing that really stood out for me was Jeff calling me while I was on vacation to let me know the weather in MN was putting them behind schedule. They were still going to be done before we got home, and we would have never known the difference, but he was still conscientious enough to keep me up to date. THAT is good customer service.

I had been planning on having the siding on my house replaced for some time since it had last been painted over 10 years ago. After some further thought I realized that the windows needed replacement as well. I went on Angies list and started researching contractors. I selected only two to contact based on comments from the reports. I knew pretty much right away which one I would ultimately go with because I immediately felt much more comfortable with Jeff. While discussing all the issues, he brought up the fact that my existing deck (which I'd asked him to give me an estimate on, for what I thought were just some repair issues) wouldn't pass the city code and that the best option was to tear down the old one and build a new one. I wasn't planning on this additional expense but trusted that this was the best thing to do since Capitol also performed deck work. The contracts were signed and the orders placed and I awaited a start date. The deck was done first then the windows and finally the siding. Along the way they also put up my smoke detectors and CO detectors as well as repairing some finishing on a window that they weren't even replacing - all at no charge. I also asked them to do some fence repair and move my mailbox as a last minute thing even though I'm sure their schedule was tight.

Called contractor at recommendation of neighbor. Received call-back same day. Foreman came by to inspec roof that evening. Had e-mail estimate next morning. Scheduled job for one week later. Crew was slightly late arriving on site but went straight to work. Foreman took time to explain to me errors that the original roofer had made and what they were doing to correct them. As work progressed, crew found small section of plywood that needed to be replaced due to water damage. Replaced that section only and did not press me to replace more. Job was completed by early evening. Site was completely cleaned up of any stray nails, etc.

Jeff Moore came out to give me a quote and worked with me about the product and different costs for the available options. He was understanding when I had to put the job off initially, and seemed excited about the job when I called again. Scheduling the construction to start was slow though because of other jobs they had, but when they started, they worked until it was done. Don Martin, the main sider, was very nice and worked with me when I didn't like how something looked or asked to have something changed that was not in the original contract. Overall, the job took about 3 weeks, and the house looks great! They cleaned up every night, but took an extra week just to get rid of the dumpster at the end of the job.

We contacted Jeff Moore to get a quote on new replacement windows. Jeff gave us an excellent presentation, and after getting a few more quotes (one of which was lower), there was no question that we would be going with Capital. Jeff uniquely understood the condition of our 1952 home and made sugggestions for the best types of windows for our situation. Jeff worked with us and our siding company so that the work would get done in a timely manner and on a schedule that was convenient for us. Jeff's window installer (Bryan) came out and removed the old windows, hauled away the scrap and installed the new windows in two days time. Bryan then went to work wrapping the windows with new aluminum cladding and replacing some maple trim in our sunroom, which consisted of custom cutting new pieces, staining them to match and installing them. Bryan did an excellent job with this, and it matches so well that you can't even tell the difference between the old and new trim. But where Bryan really shines is in his window wrapping skills. We can't say enough about the excellent job that he did. His quality of craftmanship and attention to detail is phenominal. Bryan takes great pride in his work and it shows....no fewer than three building inspectors have commented to us (when they inspected our home) that the wraps are some of the finest that they have ever seen. During the whole process, the owner Jeff Moore was easily accessible by phone for any questions or concerns and always dealt with any concerns immediately. Jeff is a great communicator and will always keep you up-to-date on how your project is progressing. And the fact that he won't take any payment until you are completely satisfied with the end result speaks volumes....he is that confident in his products and services. In the past several months we have had to deal with a multitude of contractors as we have refinished our home, and we have had our fair share of nightmares and projects gone awry, but Jeff and his company have been one shining example of how construction projects are suppossed to go in a perfect world. We couldn't be happier with Capital's workmanship, professionalism, pricing, communication, honesty, integrity, and can enthusiastically recommend Jeff's company to anyone who is looking for a trouble-free, positive experience with window replacements.

Tenant called to say a piece of siding was loose. It turned out to be fascia. All I had to do was call Jeff. He had Don come by and fixed the problem quickly. When Capital Siding replaced the siding on our rental property in 2005 I realized this was a company I could rely on. Jeff Moore and crew did an excellent job and proved to be extremely trustworthy. Over the years I have called Jeff for advice and recommendations on several types of repairs/problems I've encountered. It's wonderful to know I can call for help and rely on what I'm told. The owner, Jeff, was very helpful in deciding on the color and the type of siding. He was extremely patient and had good ideas. He also gave me the addresses of some other homes that had been sided with the siding that I was leaning towards, so I could check those out and see what they actually looked like.

They came and did all the work that they said they were gonna do. They did a very nice clean up job. Along the way gave me some cost saver ideas that I would have never normally known about. So I thought he was very helpful. I would consider them again for other work.

Jeff assisted me throughout the frustrating process to get my insurance company to pay for hail damage claim. Once we were over that hurdle job was completed promptly and to my satisfaction.

Jeff was wonderful to work with. He came out and spent several hours surveying my hail damage. He came back out to meet with my insurance adjuster to point out that the original estimate from the insurance company had missed that I had 'thermal wall' insulation which was more expensive to install and that I we may not be able to match the existing siding. After working with Jeff the adjuster re-wrote the claim to wrap the entire house with new siding. Jeff made several suggestions on how I could enhance the look of my home. I decided to go with his idea for vinyl shakes on one section, boy am I glad I did. The siding crew was spectacular. The first day they were here they explained that they were a company that had been siding for generations and they took great pride in what they did. If there were any questions, concerns, or advice, just ask and they will make it right. They went the extra mile and installed a ledger drip edge for me, made sure my decking project would work with the new siding, and they put a vinyl wrap on my patio door sill that looks beautiful. Each day when I left for work they stopped to make sure I was kept up to date on their progress and asked if I had any questions or concerns. These guys are real professionals. They are not going to show up and slap siding on, they are going to make sure you are totally satisfied with look of your new home.

Everything went exactly as planned. The roofing crew arrived and left my home all cleaned up as if they had never been there. Jeff was an absolute joy to work with. He pointed out several options when I was considering windows and made some recommendations that enhanced the look of my home. He kept me informed on the status of the window order and when I could expect the installer to arrive. His installer Bryan did a beautiful job of finishing off the windows with a custom aluminum wrap. In a few days work I have beautiful new energy efficient windows. If you need exterior work done you really need to give Jeff at Capital Siding, Windows and Construction a call!

They worked well with the insurance company. They did a real good job. We had a storm come through after the re-roof they came back and repaired some siding for free. Excellent customer service. I will definitely use them again.

I couldn't really ask for the project to go better. Brandon from Capital gave me an estimated bid for the project 9 months before I was ready to start the project and when I called to say I wanted them to do it, he honored the original bid. (Which was $6k less than a major siding competitor. It pays to get a few bids.) Capital's crew (Boris was the lead) tore off the old siding, did rot repair in places, added an insulation layer and Tyvek wrap, and put up the new siding and soffits. It's messy work but the crew worked mostly 12-hour days and then did a very reasonable job of cleanup at the end of each day. Little decisions came up along the way, they consulted me for those "would you like to do this or that?" questions, and the project just went smoothly. After the siding was complete, Jeff painted my house and garage with a brush (two coats) over the course of about 5-6 partial days. I think painting took longer than planned but the quality was excellent and was worth the extra wait. I also had the gutters replaced as part of the whole package. Each crew was considerate, Brandon checked in with reasonable frequency and was very responsive via e-mail and on the phone. There was a small electrical problem with my doorbell (a wired got pinched when my door frames were wrapped) and Brandon immediately owned up that his crew probably did it and that he would fix it. An electrician showed up and the problem was solved. Capital did a high quality job and I'll recommend them to friends and will hire them for interior remodeling work and a roof replacement I plan to do in the future. They'll keep earning my business if they keep up this kind of quality.

Brandon Williamson at Capital Siding & Windows was our contractor overseeing all the work we had done. He was very responsive to all our questions, often answering e-mails within a few minutes. For such a large job, the work went smoothly. Brandon also helped us work with our insurance company (the work was the result of a hail storm), and didn't pressure us for payment when the insurance company & mortgage company took (much) longer than expected to endorse the checks. All the crews were polite and professional; they showed up promptly in the morning, and took advantage of the good weather and worked late into the evening. The roofing crew used tarps to protect our windows & landscaping during tear off, and was much more careful about not hitting the house with shingles than our previous roofing job. The siding crew was responsive to my questions, even making a couple of cosmetic changes at my request.

Jeff had creative ideas that no one else did. He was very up-front with the pricing and was not a high pressure salesman. I was very satisfied with the work and would use him again.

Excellent. Jeff did a great job keeping us in the loop about progress on our project. The crew was professional, efficient, and cleaned up well. We went with Capital because of the positive reviews on Angie's List, and their price was the most competitive. They started work 3 weeks after the initial estimate, and completed the job in one week. Everything was done exactly as we expected, and it looks great.

They were very professional. They got the job done in just a couple of days. Every time that I called they always got right back to me. Only took a few days for them to come out and gave me the quote and the information that I was looking for. Their prices were about the same as everybody else. They were also willing negotiate the price as well. We are very happy with their service. The roof is holding up great! No problems so far. I would recommend them to friends and family in the future. The project manager came out and checked everything after the work was done.
