Capital Siding Windows & Roofing

Jeff was very personable and has great knowledge to the windows and the installation process. He was also very responsive about every single questions I had about the windows. I was sorry that we didn't get to use his company but it was because we decided to choose different lines of product not because of any dissatisfaction from his part. I wish best luck to his company.

We are very happy with this company and the work they did. They listened to what we wanted all the way through. They made some changes at our request that required re-work on their part to meet just exactly what we wanted, and they did it willingly. And they found an excellent solution to the problem of rusty sheet metal covering some dormer eaves. Other siding salesmen had told us to have a painter come in after them to paint over the rust. But Capital just clad this area with the same aluminum they used on the wood trim. From first contact with Jeff (the owner) to completion of the project, everything went well. Issues came up as they always do, but all were resolved smoothly and without hassle. Every worker on the job was nice, considerate, and seemed to want to do a great job and to make sure we liked the outcome, which we do.

In Oct/Nov 2012, I had Capital Siding and Windows, located in Woodbury, MN., replace my windows, siding and exterior doors. I have a 57 year old house that had the original windows and cedar shake siding. A very good friend of mine had owner Jeff Moore and his crew do the work on their home and they were very happy with the way their project turned out. I called Jeff and he came to my home to discuss my project. Jeff is very professional, but at the same time very personable. Being disabled, my main objective was to make sure I would be able to open the new windows with ease, have a wider back door and totally maintenance free siding. Jeff understood my concerns and worked them into my project. Jeff and his crew were very nice, personable and courteous. They worked very well together. Jeff?s window guy, Bryan, personally came in and measured for the new windows, as he was going to be the one installing them. Bryan said it works great that way, getting the right measurement the first time, instead of a salesman doing the measurements and sometimes getting it wrong and then the windows have to be redone. Bryan latter made sure I could get the new windows opened and closed ok. Jeff?s siding guy, Don, has been working with maintenance free siding pretty much all his life, growing up in the trade. Don is a master at using a ?break? to bend aluminum and steel. I have received many compliments on how well the steel siding and trim work looks. I had asked Don to cover the basement window wells under my ramp with wood. Don said, better yet he would form fit a piece of aluminum to go over them to keep debris out of them. That turned out slick. Don had one of his crew periodically during the day, picking up scraps and throwing them in the dumpster. Even though it was a construction site, it did not look like it. Denny, Jeff?s glass block guy, replaced my old basement windows with glass block. He did a very good job. Jimmy is Jeff?s painter. He did an excellent job painting my new steel doors and door jams. Jimmy also stained the new trim around the doors. Steve, Jeff's door guy rounded out his crew. Steve installed my doors and lock sets. I had ?keyless? locks installed which took some finessing on Steve?s part, but it turned out great. Steve made sure I could lock and unlock the doors easily before he left. Jeff and his crew of Bryan, Don, Steve, Denny and Jimmy are excellent craftsmen and it shows. They take pride in their work. They were very personable and answered all my questions. Every one of them kept me informed of what was going on with my project. I would definitely use Jeff and his crew at Capital Siding and Windows again. I am very pleased the way my house turned out.

Jeff was great! The way that they do estimates was by far the best out of the 4 companies we worked with. A project supervisor is sent out to take measurements and assess the job. It was great to meet the project overseer prior to the work getting started. Having met him, I felt completely comfortable with him supervising the crew. He reported the figures back to Jeff who set up an appointment to go over the details of the estimate so that we understood where all of the costs were coming from. We were able to get a completely accurate estimate and high grade architectural shingles for a reasonable price. They were right in the mid range of the other bids, and they were so friendly and accommodating that it was no question who to go with. We knew they would take good care of us and they did. They gave us an accurate estimate as to when work could begin, they came on time, the crew was very polite and hard-working. They didn't stop until we were completely satisfied and every question was answered. Jeff went out of his way to make sure that we were happy with everything even after it was completed. We would highly recommend working with them and would absolutely work with them again.

Jeff Moore has been great to work with. He met with us several times to get a clear understanding of what we wanted, and took the time to answer our questions. His estimate was spot-on, and he made sure that we were getting what we thought we were getting. His crew was quite professional and friendly, and they obviously take pride in their work. Every single line is perfect, and they cleaned up the site each afternoon before they left. When they had questions about how we wanted things done, they made sure to take the time to ask, rather than just forging ahead with what they thought was best, and made thoughtful recommendations along the way. Jeff's crew has been a joy to work with, and we highly recommend them!

This is our first experience with this contractor and was very pleased with the work that they did for us. They came out and gave us an estimate within the week and answered all of our questions. Jeff, the owner was very pleasant and professional in working with us. The installer was very meticulous and his work was exceptional. Jim, who did the stain work came out twice to make sure he matched the stain to the other woodwork we had in the house. He also did a great job on the staining and after it was all installed did some touch up work to make sure it all matched. And when there was a minimal tear in one of the window screens, there was an immediate response indicating that they would be ordering a new screen and would replace it as soon as it came in. They even made a point of telling us that they would not be invoicing us for the final payment until the screen was replaced. They are one of the best contractors that we have worked with and are looking forward to hiring them again to replace our downstairs windows.

Jeff was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He offered great advice on siding choices, including color, type and trim. Based on Jeff's recommendations, I decided to make significant changes in the look of my house by changing the color, removing most of the contrasting trim and adding vinyl shakes for accent instead of the trim. Jeff kept me informed on timing of the job and the siding crew was very punctual, professional and kept the area clean throughout the process. I was very happy with the new look and the quality of the work. I had my deck resurfaced at the same time, which worked out very well because Jeff coordinated the timing of the deck so that the tear down and new surface was completed before the siding crew needed to access that section of the house. The carpenter for the deck was very meticulous and I was pleased with the end result. There were some delays during the deck construction, but it was due to problems with the quality of some of the wood that was delivered from the supplier. I appreciated the fact that they returned the product that was not up to their standards even though it ended up taking a little longer to wait for replacement boards. I will not hesitate to hire Capital Siding, Windows and Construction in the future and I highly recommend them to others.

We are very pleased with our experience with Capital rom start to finish. Jeff responded promptly to our request for a bid and provided good information and a competative estimate including an Angie's List discount. He made changes we requested and then kept us informed at each step of in the process. The work had to be delayed because of rain but was completed on the weekend. The crew was polite, kept us informed and did a great job on clean up when they finished.

Jeff and John and his crew were amazing. Arrived promptly each day. Worked HARD throughout the day. Kept us informed on progress, issues that popped up, etc. The bid was also the lowest of those we received. I couldn't have been happier with the way the project went, from Jeff's bid and the education he provided all the way through to final cleanup of the job site. The house looks great and we are thrilled.

From the day we first received an estimate to day the work was completed, they were communicative, friendly, up front and professional workers. When the crew arrived, they all introduced themselves to my wife and me. They then confirmed the plan and informed us of any schedule updates. They completed the project on time (other than a two-day delay due to weather). When they found rot damage that needed additional repair, they communicated the issue with us right away, explained additional work that was needed and performed the work at cost. They cleaned up the site when they left. The last day they did a walk through of all the work to make sure there were no issues. Six months later everything is still good and we are still happy about the work.

My shingles seemed to look great, but when walking on the roof I noticed it had become quite soft in some areas. Additionally, there was a leak somewhere that had affected our bay window so it was clear that it was probably time to have it replaced. I had already signed an agreement with Jeff for window installation, but I did get other roof quotes for good measure. Jeff sent out his lead roofer to measure and assess the roof in advance and I had a quote 2 days later. As I expected, Jeff's quote was on par with the others so I went with him. Jeff is a great guy - he is super friendly and no pressure. He takes time to answer all of your questions and always returns calls you make to him. My roof is fairly simple as I live in a single story rambler, but there was a question mark in terms of how many de-laminated boards would have to be replaced. Additionally, we had a 3 season porch added onto the house about 6 years ago and it has had a random drip issue for the past few years so I wanted a rubber membraine installed over the top and incorporated into the replacement roofing. The roofing crew was at my house within 2-3 weeks of signing my agreement. What a great crew! Everyone on the crew was professional and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and checked for nails every day before leaving (I have a dog so this was very nice that they did this daily). As a testament to what a great crew this is - When they were finished with the job and waiting to leave, I proceeded to toss some trash from my garage into the dumpster. Some of these items were large pieces of sheetrock and a few of the gentleman from the crew came and helped me with the large pieces. I felt this really spoke volumes about them - after working so hard and technically being done with their work, they didn't have to help me and did. The job was completed within 3 days and looks beautiful. Mother nature threatened a rain shower or two but that did not delay the work too much. The most time consuming portion of my job was the removal of the de-laminated boards My roof looks fantastic and my experience with Jeff and CSW was awesome. I highly recommend anyone looking to have roof replacement give Jeff a call. You will not be disappointed.

I procrastinated on this project for 5 years. We were in need of replacement windows, but when I received quotes in the past, I just didn't like my options or money ended up re-allocated to another project. Fast forward to this year - it was time again to seriously get this project on the move. I called 3 companies from Angie's list for quotes. When I spoke with Jeff on the phone, he was super friendly and no pressure. When he came to my house to measure for the estimate, he was on time, courteous, no-nonsense and again, friendly. Jeff asked questions that no one else did. He inquired about the tile in my bathroom and kitchen adjacent to the windows. He even suggested that the 2 basement windows get boxed in with wood frames to finish it off nicer. An idea I certainly didn't have nor did any other vendor suggest. I really liked that he came in and looked at my home and offered suggestions vs whipping out a calculator and giving me a price (Jeff's quote came a few days later - not on the spot). Jeff uses Parco windows - look them up. They are made in Wisconsin (which I really loved that they were local). Jeff wasn't the cheapest quote I received, nor was he the most expensive. I'm of the mind that there's more to a purchase than cost and you get what you pay for. Jeff had the total package for me and that sealed the deal. Jeff doesn't use any slick moves such as: "have everyone present for the quote" and "discount prices if you agree to have your home featured on a mailer in the neighborhood or let us put a sign in your yard". These two tactics and a few others were used on me by other vendors - which was an immediate turn-off. I knew Jeff was the right guy for the job after that initial meeting and have no regrets! The day I signed the agreement, Jeff and the installer came for more detailed measurements. They paid special attention again to the two rooms that had adjacent tile. They were also very patient with all of my questions so that I would understand what was being done. From the time I signed the agreement, I had Bryan (the installer) at my home within about 8 weeks. This timing was a little longer than anticipated, but this was due to the extreme heat of the summer forcing shutdowns at the window manufacturer - completely outside of Jeff's control. Not to mention I also changed my mind on the stain color after receiving a sample from Parco. :) Bryan was a joy to have at the house as well. He was professional and personable - not to mention a whiz with window framing. He is meticulous and it shows in how well our windows look. Bryan works alone (except he did have some helping hands with the huge bay window) and the process of installation took just over a week. Every day he was there he cleaned up after himself. As a result, you wouldn't have known he was there. I liked that I didn't feel like I had to clean up after he left. My windows look fantastic and my experience with Jeff and CSW was awesome. I highly recommend anyone looking to have window replacement give Jeff a call. You will not be disappointed.

We liked Jeff from the start he was and is a very patient, pleasant, easy going, honest, helpful person, and happy to take his time to answered all questions. He gave us a fair estimate and was willing to work with the insurance company where another company was not. This was the first time I had a roof put on my house and so I had lots of questions and concerns. He was always very willing and good at returning all my many many many calls and easing my mind. He never once gave me a hard time for calling as much as I did and was always reassuring and pleasant to talk to. It was like talking to a friend. He was good at calling me anytime he had updates or suggestions regarding the job. He was never pressuring and gave his responses as if it was his own house he was doing. All of his input helped me in making the necessary decisions of what needed to be done. Azel and his crew were also great. They were here first thing in the morning and stayed until it was almost dark trying to get it done in one day. They had to come back the next day. The house is old and had some rot issues that needed to be repaired and the roof also needed to be re decked as it was not up to code. They also did a special repair with extra special sealing to prevent leaking where the old and new part of the house connected. Again they stayed till it got dark in order to finish. They really worked at getting things customized to what I wanted and what was needed.They cleaned up very well and were always respectful of any of my requests. They aimed to satisfy and never hesitated in doing that. The result is a very very well done roof that looks beautiful and at a reasonable cost despite all the extra things they needed to do. I have had many compliments on my roof from many people. I was and I am very satisfied with the work, and also with Jeff, Azel and his crew. I will always recommend them in a heartbeat to any one who needs a roof. You won't be disappointed...they are the best!!!! Thanks Jeff and Azel.

I was not happy at first about cladding windows on a 1934 house, but the marvin Ultimate windows which went in were not going to look right without. IN addition Marvin screwed up the order thanks to a change in their software the windows were 1/2 inch too low, so they paid for the cladding, which Brian did extremely well so it is a good ending. I have both Marvin Ultimates and Marvin inserts in other places of the home. The Ultimates have a better feel and seal but being clad on the outside Im not sure I would recommend them for older homes unless maintenance free is the goal.

Jeff came out and we discussed what kind of windows we wanted and then sent us our estimate. He is not a high pressure salesman and we felt confident in hiring this company. When it came time for installation Bryan was here when he said he would be and did a very professional job. If you need new windows you can be assured that these guys will do a wonderful job - and you'll love your new windows like we do.

When they worked for us about five years ago, I was very happy with their bid and the work that they have done so I highly recommend them so I will be using them again. Their estimate was about 1/3 cheaper than the other ones.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Jeff and the entire CSW team. From the initial visit with Jeff to inspect our siding to the final day of completion, we were thrilled with the customer service and quality of work we received. Once we had gone through the process with our insurance company and let CSW know where things stood, they were able to get us on the schedule very soon. The team was great about keeping us informed and up-to-date on their progress, and we were continually impressed with their work each day. They finished even earlier than expected and the end-result was wonderful. They were great to work with, very honest and straightforward, and did a truly great job on our house. We'd recommend them to anyone!

Jeff was GREAT to work with throughout the entire project from start to finish! He was very prompt and accomodating in giving us an estimate on short notice. When we decided to go with them, he communicated with us throughout the entire project - even through the city inspection - even to the point of setting up the appointment. The window installer came out twice before starting work to make sure he had correct measurements because we had some unusual replacement openings, and he did a fantastic job with the installation and window wrapping. Overall, I couldn't be happier.

Jeff came out to look at the damage and gave us an estimate. We were able to schedule the work to be completed pretty quickly. When they arrived, they were on-time. They set up for work. They were quick and provided us with updates during the project. This went very well from when we first contacted Capital to when they finished the work. My husband and I were very happy with the thorough estimate and suggestions (with no pressure) we received from Jeff. Primarily, all of our conversations existed through e-mails, and we were able to fax in our contract and lead agreement. This is all very helpful, because my husband and I have very busy work schedules, and sometimes we can't even fit in a phone call. We would use them for larger exterior projects in the future.
