Description of Work: April 15, 2008, the Minnesota Dept. of Labor & Industry, Chris Williams, Senior Investigator Construction Codes and Licensing Division, phone 651-284-5831, issued a consent order on Lanoga Corporation, dba United Building Centers, license #20242657, Winona, MN. Consent order censure, and $5,000 fine with $3,000 stayed, on conditions - March 31, 2008, case #BC2703624/CMW; this is public record. On May 27, 2008, we received a letter back from United Building Centers, A Pro-Build Company, 125 W. 5th St., P.O. Box 5550, Winona, MN. 55987, Phone 507-452-2361, fax 507-457-6780, by teh United Building Centers/Pro-Buid Attorney, Steven Badciong. This letter states that the best course of action would be to engage a 3rd party to complete any repairs regarding installation, on our part. Five contractors have looked at the siding, all say it was installed wrong! We were able to get an estimate from one contractor, Sundacne Exteriors. He would only do the job, if he could completely take all the siding off, and replace it. The estimate was for $14,000; this was submitted to the above company, to the attention of their attorney, Steven Badciong. The letter stated they would offer $1,654.28 to settle.
