+ -1 morePatrick returned my call quickly, and was able to give me a rough estimate over the phone that was pretty close to the estimate he gave after visiting the site. He was very professional and obviously knew what he was doing. We were very comfortable with Patrick, and would have used his company if we had ended up putting in a hardwood floor.
Description of Work: Received an estimate for removing existing kitchen flooring (and one underneath) in order to install a new hardwood floor.

+ -1 morepatrick answered the phone and helped me with my problem of rotting wood for my new kitchen floor. patrick came in with his crew and moved all of my appliances and china cabinet and removed my kitchen floor. my husband is a disabled veteran so this was a blessing for me. I could never moved these things myself. everything went great. we would highly recommend hiring patrick. great job!

+ -1 moreThis was the best company I ever dealt with. He was on time, honest, and did a fast and great job. I needed carpet removed from a bedroom and did not have any idea where to find such a company until I checked Angie's list. I was not putting down any more carpet so I could not think to ask a carpet installer to remove carpeting. He was a very nice guy to work with.
Description of Work: Removed wall to wall carpet and padding from a bedroom. Also had to move the bed and a file cabinet in order to remove and dispose of the carpet and padding. Vacuumed the entire room when done.

Description of Work: Did a complete tear-out of our old flooring and carpet. Installed new plywood base floor in preparation for having hardwood floors installed. Cleaned up and hauled away debris. Moved refrigerator to garage and re-installed it.

+ -1 morePatrick was on time, personable, and trustworthy. He got started quickly and completed the work in a timely manner. His price was VERY reasonable and he did an outstanding job of removing the carpeting carefully and with no damage to the surrounding areas. He was specifically recommended to us by the floor refinishing company (Pete's Hardwood Floors) because of his ability to remove the carpeting without damaging the floors and baseboards. He and his assistant cleaned the area thoroughly and vacuumed from the area to the front door.
Description of Work: Removal of carpeting in two bedrooms and a hallway.

+ -1 moreThe two men who performed the demolition were punctual, very friendly and courteous. They spent a considerable amount of time sealing off the work site with polyurethane sheeting and masking tape, which not only minimized the spread of dust to other parts of the house but protected the wallpaper and woodwork as well. They used an exhaust fan and vacuumed everything before they left. They finished the job in the amount of time they has estimated. I cannot comment on the cost of the work, because it was included in the contractor's estimate.
Description of Work: The were subcontracted to remove ceramic tile flooring from our foyer, in preparation for the laying of new tile.

hardwood floor
+ -1 morePatrick was very responsive to my needs and right on schedule. What really impressed me was all of the prep work they did before they tore out the old flooring. Patrick's crew taped shut all of my kitchen cabinets and put up plastic to keep the dust contained in the work area. What a joy to not have to clean that dust from the rest of my house! Also, I thought that I would have to empty the refrigerator so that it could be moved but they moved it to the family room while still full and plugged it in. These guys are great! I'm using them next week to take out the ceramic floor and shower from my bathroom.
Description of Work: They removed the baseboards and carpet in my living room and dining room. They then removed the particleboard that was under the carpet so that our new hardwood floor could be installed. The refrigerator and stove were moved from the kitchen and the old linoleum was removed. They hauled away the old carpet and wood, etc. They came back and carefully put back the stove and refrigerator.

+ -1 moreI HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER. THEY WORKED VERY FAST, YET WERE CAREFUL WITH PROTECTING MY NEW KITCHEN CABINETS DURING THE PROCESS. THE HARDWOOD FLOOR INSTALLER WAS ALSO PLEASED WITH THE WAY THE FLOOR WAS CLEANED AND PREPARED FOR HIM. WHEN MY NEW HARDWOOD FLOOR WAS DONE, THE CREW CAME BACK TO MOVE MY RANGE AND REFRIGERATOR BACK INTO MY KITCHEN. OF COURSE, I WAS NERVOUS ABOUT THEM SCRATCHING MY BRAND NEW FLOOR, BUT THEY WERE AGAIN VERY CAREFUL AND DID NOT DAMAGE ANYTHING.
Description of Work: The crew removed the layers of vinyl from my kitchen floor and the carpeting from my dining area in preparation for a new hardwood floor in both rooms. They also moved my range and refrigerator out of the kitchen and came back when new floor was complete and moved them back in again.

+ -1 moreI TRULY DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN WITH PATRICK DAVID. HE IS AMAZING. HE IS OPTIMISTIC, RESPONSIVE, A GOOD LISTENER WITH A FANTASTIC ''CAN-DO'' ATTITUDE. HE WAS BROUGHT IN TO BID ON REMOVING CARPET AND TILE (WHICH THREE CONTRACTORS HAD GRIMACED AT AND BID VERY HIGH) AND ENDED UP DOING THE ENTIRE REMODEL DEMOLITION, SAVING US THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. HE ALSO DID THIS DURING THE INTENSE HEAT OF JULY IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION BECAUSE THIS HOME IS ON THE 10TH FLOOR OF A DOWNTOWN BUILDING, MAKING DISPOSAL A CHALLENGE. HIS ATTITUDE IS SO POSITIVE AND HE IS SUCH AN AMAZING MAN THAT HE JUST MADE IT HAPPEN. EVERY TIME I ASKED FOR ''ONE MORE THING'' HE SMILED AND SAID; ''NO PROBLEM!''. I WOULD RECOMMEND HAVING A DETAILED LIST IF HE DOES DEMOLITION BECAUSE IT IS HELPFUL. HE IS INCREDIBLE WITH FLOORING REMOVAL AND OUR CONTRACTOR ACTUALLY ASKED HIM TO DO TWO MORE JOBS WITH DIFFICULT TILE REMOVAL IN OUR BUILDING BECAUSE THEY SAW WHAT AN AWESOME JOB HE DID!! HE IS JUST REALLY GREAT.
Description of Work: PATRICK DAVID DID A COMPLETE DEMOLITION FOR A BIG REMODEL PROJECT FOR US. HE NOT ONLY REMOVED CARPET, CERAMIC TILE AND MARBLE FLOORING, BUT HE ALSO PREPARED OUR HOME FOR OUR REMODEL. THIS MEANT REMOVING TWO BATHROOMS TO THE STUDS, REMOVING ALL EXISTING TRIM, COVE, DOORS, WINDOW WOODWORK, FIXTURES, APPLIANCES, SOME CEILINGS, WALLS AS NEEDED. THE BATHROOMS HAD MOLD BEHIND WALLS, THE WORK WAS MESSY AND DIFFICULT. AS THE WORK PROGRESSED AND WENT SO WELL WE JUST KEPT ADDING THINGS UNTIL THE ENTIRE 1800 SQ FEET OF HOME WAS MADE READY FOR OUR CONTRACTOR TO BEGIN. PATRICK ALSO DISPOSED OF EVERYTHING FROM OLD TOILETS AND RANGES TO DOORS AND WINDOW TREATMENTS. PATRICK THEN CLEANED EVERYTHING UP AND BUFFED THE FLOORS AND EVERY CORNER SO THE CONCRETE WAS READY FOR FLOORING INSTALLATION. INCREDIBLE WORK! DO NOT LET THE DOLLAR AMOUNT OF THE WORK LOOK HIGH - IT WAS A BARGAIN DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF DEMOLITION DONE. IT WAS THOUSANDS LESS THAN THE LOWEST CONTRACTOR BID AND WE HAD THREE BIDS.

WHEN I RETURNED AFTER WORK TO CHECK THE PROJECT, I WAS SO PLEASED WITH THE THOROUGHNESS OF THE JOB THAT THEY'D DONE. I KNEW WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO WITH A BADLY MAINTAINED OLD HOME, AND PLANNED TO DO MUCH OF THE WORK MYSELF. JUST HAVING THESE GUYS COME IN AND CLEAN OUT THE PREVIOUS OWNERS' MESS AND LEAVE ME WITH A VIRTUALLY BLANK CANVAS WAS ALL THAT I COULD HOPE FOR. I AM SO GLAD THAT THIS SERVICE WAS AVAILABLE TO ME; AS THEY SAY "THE GREATEST SERVICE YOU NEVER HEARD OF". I'D RECOMMEND THESE GUYS.

JUST WHEN I THOUGHT THAT THERE WAS NO WAY A SERVICE PROVIDER COULD BE ANY BETTER THAN THE LAST ONE I GOT THROUGH ANGIE'S LIST I FOUND MYSELF IN FOR A NICE SURPRISE. PATRICK AND HIS ASSOCIATE WERE TERRIFIC! VERY POLITE AND COURTEOUS AND HAVE A GREAT WORK ETHIC. SOME STAPLES WERE NOT FULLY PULLED OUT, AND HAD TO BE PULLED OUT BY MYSELF & THE FLOORING GUYS. THIS DID SLOW THE SANDING JOB. A FEW OF THE REQUESTED BOARDS WEREN'T REMOVED, AS THEY SAID IT WOULD BLEND BETTER. ALSO WAS TOLD FLOORING COMPANY COULD REMOVE THEM EASILY IF THEY DIDN'T BLEND. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN THEIR EXPERIENCE IN THE PAST, BUT THE FLOORING COMPANY I USED REFUSED TO REMOVE THEM & THEY DIDN'T BLEND. I WASN'T TOO HAPPY ABOUT THIS. I MENTIONED IT WHEN ARRANGING A TIME FOR THE FURNITURE TO BE PUT BACK. THE OWNER, PATRICK DAVID, MORE THAN MADE UP FOR IT WITH ADDITIONAL SERVICE & A GENEROUS REFUND. NO WHINING OR EXCUSES. MR. DAVID TOOK FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND MADE IT RIGHT. THAT'S INTEGRITY!

ONCE HE COMPLETED THE WORK EVERYTHING WAS REPLACED IN PERFECT ORDER. HE ALSO DID A WONDERFUL JOB REPAIRING THE PET DAMAGE ON MANY FLOOR AREAS. WE SO APPRECIATED THE WORK HIS CREW PROVIDED. PATRICK?S EXPERTS THAT CAME TO MY HOME REFUSED TO GIVE ME REFERENCES OR INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYMENT. HIS CARPENTER IS 39 YEARS OLD AND CLAIMS TO HAVE OVER 25 YEARS HOUSE BUILDING EXPERIENCE. THE MATH DOESN?T ADD UP FOR ME. IN ADDITION TO THE COMPLAINTS I SUBMITTED, THE WOODWORK AND WALLS IN MY BACK HALL WERE ALSO DAMAGED. HIS TRUCK LEAKED BLACK OIL ON MY CONCRETE DRIVEWAY. MY BRICK HEARTH HAS BEEN DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR, EXCEPT TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEARTH WITH A COMPATIBLE MATERIAL. PATRICK MAY QUALIFY TO REMOVE CARPET, BUT BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO REPLACE SUB FLOOR AND UNDERLAYMENT. HIS SERVICE IS EXTREMELY OVER PRICED AND OVER RATED. I WOULD RECOMMEND REQUESTING REFERENCES WITH JOBS AS SIGNIFICANT AS MINE.

I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE WORK THAT WAS DONE BY FLOORING REMOVAL, INC. THEY WERE CARELESS IN THE WAY THEY REMOVED THE FLOORING AND SOME BRICKS ON MY FIREPLACE HEARTH WERE CHIPPED. THE FLOORING THAT WAS SUPPORTING MY DISHWASHER WAS ERRONEOUSLY REMOVED AND SAWDUST INFILTRATED MY DISHWASHER. THE WOOD IS NOT LEVEL, THERE ARE EXCESSIVE CUTS OF WOOD IN BOTH ROOMS, SOME BOARDS WERE INSTALLED WITH THE GRAIN IN THE WRONG DIRECTION AND THERE ARE BOARDS WITH PAINT ON THEM, OBVIOUSLY NOT NEW WOOD. THERE ARE SERIOUS ISSUES THAT COMPROMISE THE STRENGTH OF THE FLOORS. PATRICK'S FINAL STATEMENT DID NOT REFLECT ANGIE S LIST DISCOUNT AND HE ACTED SURPRISED WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT IT. PATRICK'S INTEGRITY IS QUESTIONABLE. HE WAS NOT COMMITTED TO MY JOB AND OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT QUALIFIED TO DO THE JOB PROPERLY. HE DOESN T HAVE EXPERIENCED EMPLOYEES, AND HIS WORK IS SHODDY.

+ -1 morePROMPT IN SCHEDULING, ARRIVING ON TIME AND DOING WORK. HAULED AWAY ALL DEBRIS AND CARPETING AS AGREED. ONLY CRITICISM WOULD BE TO HAVE A BETTER VACUUM. NEWLY PAINTED WALLS AND WOODWORK ALL HAD A LAYER OF YELLOW DUST FROM RESIDUAL OLD KANGABACK WHICH WAS VACUUMED OFF FLOOR AFTER CARPET REMOVAL BUT WAS KICKED UP INTO ROOMS AND SETTLED ON EVERYTHING. HAD TO RE-VACUUM MYSELF LATER WITH BETTER QUALITY VAC. NO FURNITURE IN ROOMS SO RELATIVELY EASY CLEANUP. OVERALL PROFESSIONALISM AND FOLLOW THROUGH WAS GOOD.

+ -1 moreTHE OWNER, PATRICK DAVID, WAS VERY RESPONSIVE TO MY INITIAL CALL AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE THE SAME DAY I CALLED. THE WORK WAS DONE WITHIN TWO WEEKS. THE WORK AREA WAS CLEANED AND VACUUMED UPON COMPLETION OF THE JOB AND ADJACENT CARPETS AND FLOORS WERE PROTECTED WITH ROSIN PAPER. ADJACENT AREAS WERE SEALED WITH POLY DURING THE WORK. MR. DAVID WOULD BE A GREAT PERSON TO PRESENT WORKSHOPS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BUSINESS ETHICS. THEY RETURN CALLS PROMPTLY, SHOW UP ABSOLUTELY ON TIME, PROTECT SURROUNDING SURFACES AND CLEAN UP THE WORK AREA THOROUGHLY. THE FINAL PRICE OF THE SECOND JOB WAS EVEN ADJUSTED DOWNWARD, WHEN IT WAS DISCOVERED THE JOB DID NOT TAKE AS LONG AS THEY ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WOULD. THIS COMPANY PROVIDES WONDERFUL ALL AROUND SERVICE.
Description of Work: CARPET, PAD, TACK STRIP, VINYL TILES AND ADHESIVE REMOVED FROM APPROX 60 SQ FOOT HALLWAY. ON SUBSEQUENT VISIT, FLOORING REMOVAL INC REMOVED A BATHROOM FLOOR DOWN TO THE ORIGINAL PLANKS AND REPAIRED WITH PLYWOOD A DAMAGED SECTION. THEY ALSO REINFORCED THE FLOOR UNDER THE TOILET.

PATRICK DAVID, THE OWNER, TAKES REAL PRIDE IN HIS WORK, AND WANTS TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS RIGHT. I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM TO DO MORE WORK. THEY ALSO REMOVE TILE AND LINOLEUM.
