Responded promptly to request even though it was not an emergency. Carefully explained what my options were and how much each would cost. Efficiently and neatly solved the problems.

We had an old, poorly constructed shower in the basement that needed updating. Mark came out and walked us through the options. He also talked with our friend that was doing the rough in work, and discussed what needed to be done as prep in advance, and how to finish off the enclosure. Mark was helpful in finding a shower stall/surround that would work for our situation. It needed to be in multiple pieces in order to fit through our small doorways. We are pleased with the finished product.

I called for an emergency visit early one morning, when we realized our hot water heater was leaking. By 8:00 AM that morning, Josh Rockow, a plumber who represents Zell Plumbing, was at our door and within moments had assessed the situation and replaced a TMP valve on our water heater that was causing the leak. Josh then asked if there was anything else he could look at since they charge by the hour, and he had only spent 10 minutes. I remembered I had a leaky faucet on the whirlpool tub. Within 20 minutes, Josh replaced the stem pack on the leaky faucet and stopped the leak! Josh is a pleasant, polite, and professional plumber! We now consider Zell Plumbing ''our plumbers.''

They were very quick to get here and performed the work well. We haven't had any problems since. However, they were expensive.

Zell was very helpful, they listened to the problem, recommended a solution including vendors to shop for a new toilet. They allowed me to save by picking up the toilet myself (some will only install what they sell). They were on time for the repair and install and the work was accomplished efficiently at a fair price. I recommend this plumbing business.

Tom arrived on Monday like he said. He got everything done in little over an hour and cleaned everything up after the work was done. He was very professional, and I would definitely hire them again.

It went well. Tom was on time, and he explained what he was doing, as well as what we could do to prevent a broken pipe in the future. He had to cut a hole in our basement ceiling to get to the pipe, and he made as small a hole as possible; he also created a larger panel in the ceiling for easier access in the event of future problems. The work he did with the refrigerator was also good. The hole he had to drill through our cabinet drawer to get to the pipe under our sink was relatively small, and his cleanup was great. Service was excellent;price okay.

While on vacation, my daughter found the leak and called a different plumber, who gave an estimate of $2030 to make the repair, and didn't offer any other solutions, such as temporary repairs. I had used Zell before, to give me a ''common sense'' solution (silicon caulk in a toilet tank crack), so I called them again. Tom was great. For his regular 1-hour rate, he gave the leak a temporary patch (silicon again), and then spent a full two hours going through the various pipes and advising me on the longevity. He pointed out what a bathroom update would entail (loss of original tilework, etc.), and gave a good, reasoned estimate about where the pipes ran to the upper level, not where I and others had thought, but his reasoning made sense. I have only worked with Tom and the scheduling desk at Zell, but I absolutely love their helpfulness and common sense approach, to a homeowner's problems. My second great experience with Zell.

The installation of both the faucet and the hot water tap were completed according to the quoted price. The plumber was prompt, prepared, and proficient.

Water was dripping from my water heater and since it was 9 years old, it seemed possible that it was on its last legs. First, I talked to Tom on the phone to determine if it made sense for him to come out. He had me check a few things and we decided he should visit. It turned out to be the relief valve that only leaked when it was actually fired up (so I had never seen it actually leaking). I appreciated being able to discuss the issue before he came and having him explain things once he was here. We talked about what brand and size he would recommend for when I actually need a new water heater.

Zell checked the lead, offered a couple of possibilities for fixing it and what long term issues may be. Then he fixed the leak.

Tom was great. He arrived early and billed me on at ''per job'' basis, which was (maybe $90)cheaper than the hourly would have been. He completely fixed my two main concerns - with some creative plumbing, but WITHOUT having to (re)move any finished tile/walls. Any dissatisfaction I have is because mine is an older house and just putting up with a toilet with a handle that sometimes gets stuck in the ''flush'' position is (faster/cheaper/easier) better than replacing this older toilet or trying to order an out-dated part and paying for another visit etc. Not his fault there were not easy fixes!

They are excellent and very responsive. They arranged to do repair work in timely fashion. I am very pleased. I will definitely use again.

Les was the only plumber that took the time to come over and check out what we needed to have done. His bid was for time and materials rather than per hour which we figured saved us money in the end. We went slightly over the bid but for things we damaged or requested (we bent a pipe while removing tile). Les (and Josh) were always here when promised, even checking in to see if they were needed when they weren't scheduled. This was a great experience for us do-it-your selfers, no question was to small or to dumb! They were extremely careful when installing everything, nothing was scratched, bumped, or dented (in a really small space). The end result is beautiful!

Tom was very prompt, he arrived right at 6:30am, as scheduled. He also called the night before to confirm appointment that was set up a week prior. The work was done to my satisfaction and he was very professional.

Tom was on time and called before he came so that I could come home from work rather than wait. He was careful and professional in his work. He did just what was required and made sure that he wasn't adding unnecessary work. He listened to my concerns about a new boiler installation that was going to happen after his work, and made sure that he placed the water heater in such a way as to make it easy to vent it into the chimney flu when they completed their work. He cleaned up after his work and left my basement looking nice.

Responded promptly to service request and showed up on time. Good quality service. Courteous.

As with most plumbing emergencies, this one occurred on a Friday afternoon, at the beginning of weekend hours and the additional emergency charges associated with that. I knew before I contacted them, that Zell's didn't typically handle emergency calls. Because of their reputation for excellence, I phoned anyway. Tom Schilling returned my call immediately. I described my situation, and he went over several possible scenarios and the potential costs associated with repair. He said he would be happy to come as early as I wanted Monday morning, to avoid having to find (and pay for) a weekend service provider. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time, was quick and thorough with his assessment of the situation and the subsequent repair, and he explained everything in detail; including how I could prevent and treat future problems myself. Obviously I hope I never have another plumbing problem, but I live in an older home, and I expect I will. What a relief to know exactly who to call.

Job 1: Great work. The plumber came out FASTER than any others that I called. He not only fixed the problem, but fixed what had gone wrong with the initial installation. He also explained everything to me so that I could feel good about the change & fix. Although the hourly wage was higher than others I called, I feel that it was well worth the expense. It no doubt will save me $$ in the future if he really did more than patch up a bad job, so in the long run, I think I saved! Job 2: I have called Zell & I was more than pleased. I even have my own plumber through Zell who is attached to my account! Mark installed my plumbing, made a trip to Menards to get additional supplies, & cleaned up after himself. He also explained everything well to me. I m very happy with everything he has done. It feels pricey, but the quality is 110%, so it is hard to down grade them for that! I know I will not need to re-call a plumber to fix what they have done-in that way it is very affordable.

I received a call back from a technician (Tom) within 15 minutes of my initial call to the company. I received a quote over the phone, and then Tom arrived 20 minutes later and fixed the problem. He was very courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend this company.

The plumber who came out was courteous and quick, called and made the arrangements. Came when he said he would and did what was asked.

Tom Schilling was very helpful and pleasant and worked efficiently. We would call him again. I'm not up on plumbing prices to know if this was good "bang for the buck" or not, so I'm guessing on price.

Tom was polite and helpful. I appreciate the fact that he came back and fixed the toilet at no charge when we continued to have problems.

Mark was very prompt and polite and did work beyond the scope of my original call. He finished in 1 hour and cleaned up after himself nicely.
