Mark Dieman arrived promptly and installed a new kitchen faucet. While attempting to repair the leaking bathroom faucet, he informed me that he was not able to remove the hot water handle, and if he continued he wanted to let me know it might break. I told him that I wanted the leak to be fixed because it couldn't stay that way, and if it broke I'd buy a new faucet. He was able to remove the handle and fix the leak, but he let me know that the base of the faucet was scratched in the process. While attempting to fix the leaky bathtub faucet, he discovered a missing screw that holds in the washer. He found another screw in his truck and was able to replace the washer which fixed the leak. He also instructed me about not pushing too hard on the faucet handles when shutting off the water or the washers would wear out faster. While he was there, I asked him to provide an estimate to replace a utility tub and some pipes in the basement. He was very professional and courteous.

Josh was right on time for our appt and looked at our water heater. He was honest and told me he couldn't fix it due to it's age and corrosion inside. He was kind enough to only charge me the $39 estimate fee and waived the per hour minimum charge. I appreciated that very much since we now have to buy a new water heater. He answered the questions I had and wrote me an estimate for a water heater he uses and recommends which included installation, labor, and taking away the old heater. I will definitely call Zell Plumbing again...

I was very impressed with the plumber's ability to identify the source of the leaking water for a leak that was very remote from where the water was accumulating. He sealed the likely sources in a second-floor bathroom and we have had no further incidents. He also assessed the source of a non-recurring water damage incident as storm water entered the house through an outside vent.

Tom was prompt, courteous, and efficient. He gave advice about the repairs that seemed very objective - gave both the pros and cons about each. He also gave options and prices in advance. While I did not get competitive quotes for the work, based on my previous experiences with other plumbers, the prices were reasonable (it's hard to rate any plumbing prices as "excellent!") I will certainly rely on Tom in the future...he was very professional and responsive, and met my expectations fully.

On a Friday afternoon (my stupid mistake), I left a message on the machine at Zell Plumbing. Within a few minutes, Tom called me back. He said that he couldn't come until Monday, but that he would be happy to take care of it then. An hour or so later, he called back and said that if I would be home in 2 hours he might be able to get it done that day. I was happy to stick around. He was prompt, courteous, professional, pleasant, fair -- the whole shebang -- and he even let my kitten help without tossing him out of his work area. This is actually our second interaction with Tom at Zell Plumbing. He helped with a toilet issue last year and was terrific then, too. I HIGHLY recommend Tom and Zell Plumbing. Thank-you.

They handled the job very throughly and were very pleasant to work with. I would definitely hire them again for other jobs. They answered all my questions related to the new heater. The final cost was higher than estimate because I asked to have piping changed so I could see the heater controls and that was the only reason.

We've used Tom at Zell Plumbing in the past. As always, he's prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. He found the problem and fixed it in no time. He took several phone calls from my husband while we were still trying to diagnose the problem. He explains (in detail) what he did. Once he left, the sewer gas smell disappeared.

Plumber was unable to diagnose leak because it stopped before he arrived. However, he went out of his way to show us what we should look for and did not charge us for the call.

He answered several other questions we had as well as giving us advice on how to work with an older system (1957). He was in and out within an hour. He was a nice guy who was also kind to our young child.

It went very well. Fit and finish is excellent. Worked schedule with carpenter and electrician so their were no delays.

I called around 10 am on Friday, January 5, 2007, and Mark was here by 2 that afternoon. He fixed the problem and it's really nice not having to deal with the constant dripping.

My floor drain in the basement backed up. The gentleman from Zell snaked it out and then checked every way he could to be sure it was clear. Prior to coming out, the woman who answered the phone was cautious because there are certain things they can't do. She had the plumber himself call to question me to be sure it was not a wasted trip.

Initially discussed and got quote for cleaning up plumbing after having gutted our basement and prepping for eventually redoing the bathroom. He took time to explain everything and ofter suggestions and alternatives. That quote was for around $2000. Since we weren't sure that we wanted to refinish the basement, we were pleased when Les was willing to just clean up the plumbing for an hourly fee.

I called Zell at 8 am and they arrived by 9, and then were done by 11. Josh was very pleasant and professional, and did excellent work. I would recommend Zell without reservation.

Reviews on Zell Plumbing and Josh, the plumber, were very positive. I would concur that this is a great company and Josh was fabulous. I had a ton of plumbing questions I have always been curious about and as he worked he answered all my questions and gave me a lot of great tips. Josh was very personable, didn't rush through the work, and everything is working perfectly. I was so pleased with Josh and his work that I have scheduled him for the week after Christmas to replace a sink, disposal, and perform some other work in our second kitchen which we have in our downstairs family room. I enthusiastically recommend Zell Plumbing.

Mark was very pleasant and came quickly. The sink was left a little dirtier than I would have preferred.

They schedule a time based on my request and arrived on time. The estimate over the phone gave me an idea of the problem. The plumber had to problem solve the installation of the faucet base on the one I purchased. He asked my advice and preference. He guaranteed the work and gave me his card in case anything needed repair based on his work. The job was done in a timely manner. He kept the workplace clean.

The work Zell does is wonderful, I have used them more than once and would call them for any work. They are great and do wonderful work. Now that I am taking care of my parents house and mine it's great to be able to call Zell. Thank-you again Zell!

Great! Les was great to have at every step of this project. I do not believe it would have turned out so well without him and his employees. I could show you pictures of what the kitchen looks like now, but you cannot see all his great work behind the walls and under the floor. Even when he was dealing with St. Paul inspectors, he was trying to understand why and what they were looking for so that he would not be re-doing any work.

I left a message for Zell on Thursday afternoon and Josh returned my call within an hour (I think). Josh said he could be to my house on Friday morning at 8 am and estimated the job to take an hour. The downside is that you pay for an hour whether it takes that long or not, but other plumbers said the same thing, plumbers are expensive. However, Josh finished in about a half hour and then asked if there was anything else he could look at while he was there. He quickly made a couple of other minor repairs and offered some advice. Josh was incredibly prompt, friendly, and obviously knew what he was doing. If we need any other plumbing work done, he will be our first call.

The plumber first tried to repair an older leaking faucet. It held for a few days, but started leaking again. He had given me his cell phone and told me to call him directly if we had any problems. I did and he returned and put in a new faucet. The technician was prompt, courteous and professional.

Excellent. Tom Schilling came out quickly, did a very competent job, and tried to keep costs low by not doing un-needed work, while still doing what needed to be done.

Les saved the day for my repair projects. I was ready to give up on contracting the work and do it myself. Which would not be a good choice. When I called Zell plumbing for the second time to get an estimate for the repairs. Les returned all my calls and answered all my questions. From the time we started to the completion of the project. He made it clear how I could do the project. Save on costs by supplying the fixtures or trim packages myself. I opted to use his selections of fixtures and trim. I am very happy with his choices. He worked very well with other contractors and finished all his work as promised on schedule. I struggled getting other companies to provide estimates,or agree to do the work. Or in most cases, answer their business phone. I am glad I found Zell Plumbing through this service. No one was even a close second place.

The guy who came out was pleasant. He looked at the bathroom faucet handles and said they were an odd, old brand and he couldn't fix them, without spending a lot of time (money) trying to find parts. He gave me advice on how to do it ourselves. The basement leaky valve was a mystery at first, as the pipe looked like it was the hot water line to the dishwasher, but the pipe was cut off right at the floorboards. He asked if, I had ever even used the dishwasher! Yes, new remodel 2 years ago! He looked under the dishwasher, scratched his head, then discovered when the kitchen was remodeled, that the plumber put in a new pipe to the dishwasher and just left the old one in place in the basement, cutting it off and shoving it into the floorboards! He had a good laugh, and fixed the leaking valve. He didn't cut off the pipe, my husband did later and he did forget to put the kickplate thing back on the dishwasher. Guess I should get under there and do that sometime.
