Zell Plumbing & Heating

The receptionist was friendly. Asked if I needed work done today, I replied that I preferred it done today. Received a call from Josh about 30 minutes later and he told me when he could be out. He mentioned possible options and costs. He was on time, friendly and efficient.

Our outside faucet had been leaking. We called Les the week before July 4th with the hopes of getting it fixed before the 4th. Les returned our call the same day - and even though he was booked for the next week he was able to fit us in his schedule on the Monday prior to the Holiday. The repair required a small part that Les was able to get and he returned the next day and we were set. We have used Les before and just as before we were very happy with the service.

I needed someone quickly to minimize the damage. They were available the next day for the assessment/estimate and a temporary fix, the work was completed the day afterward. The estimate was $2200, and the final bill $2000. The work seems professional and though there was necessarily a big hole in the ceiling and wall, the problem certainly seems fixed, and he didn't have to take out any of the bathroom walls (since the ceiling below was already soaked, he was able to complete the work from below.) It wasn't until later that I realized the estimate had been based on at least eight hours labor. Since I was there when he arrived and left, I figured out he'd spent about half that amount of time, but I ended up paying nearly the entire estimate amount. The work was done well, but I wouldn't hire them again for that reason.

Tom was extremely prompt and polite. He gave me options at every step. The advise he gave me for the future was helpful to queue up my repair and upgrade costs. I would definitely call him again.

They were prompt, did good work and cleaned up well. He was very personable and the work looks great. I would use them again.

Within two hours of my initial call, Mark was at my door fixing the problem. Nothing major, a little tightening...that's all. He was professional and friendly.

I called and asked for an estimate on the work I wanted performed. Tom called me back and we scheduled for him to come out to my home. He came out looked around and quoted me a fair price to fix both things. The work he did was great quality. He showed me everything he did and even stuck around to give me advice on another project I want to start on. Overall fantastic customer service, Tom Schilling is excellent.

It went well; the problem was successfully solved. He only took about 15 minutes to complete the job and was very clean and neat. My only concern was the cost of the work, because, as I said, he was only there 15 minutes; I assume the replacement part was expensive and perhaps they have a high hourly rate? In retrospect, I should have asked for an estimate beforehand. Again, good work was done, I got an appointment the day after I called, however, they are expensive.

Zell came out and did a fantastic job. They re-piped all the way from the faucet level to the pipe in the basement. They also gave us an estimate for replumbing our entire house. I was very happy with them.

Very helpful in letting me know I didn't need him to do the work to save some money. I could do it myself. He only changed me for a consultation. He also returned my call on a Sunday, which was good.

It went very well. Now we have wonderful water pressure in the entire house and no more galvanized supply lines-it really makes a difference! Both of the gentlemen that worked on our behalf were professional, didn't try to sell me more than I needed, and got the job done quickly and efficiently. I will definitely use these guys again. In fact as an aside I was talking about Zell plumbing at a party I was at, to recommend them, and several people knew already who I talking about-so I guess they must be doing something right! Thanks guys.

In the bathroom, the leak got repaired to a drip, but did not seem to have tried anything like refurbishing the seat of the valve. In the kitchen, while he did repair the leak, the mechanism was stiffer than it had previously been. I mentioned it to him and he did something to adjust it and told me it would probably get looser as I worked it. However, as time went on [a week], it got worse [tighter] rather than better, until it was very hard to move. I called him directly and he came back and did the same "adjustment," with the same recommendation. It got worse almost immediately. I figured 2 attempts were enough for anyone and called another company. This plumber asked me about the previous job and whether he had replaced anything [springs, etc] - "No" [I had been watching Steve, trying to learn]. Short version: the other company also did some other things that compared in amount of work and parts, did them perfectly, and charged roughly half as much.

We had a water hammering on pipes near our master bedroom. Mark from zell plumbing found a leak on our toilet and replaced the flush system. He also checked all the faucets in our house and verified that the valves are wide open. He found a leak in our basement and fixed that, too. We have not heard the water hammering after he fixed it. We are very satisfied with the service.

Arrived as scheduled and changed faucet that I had purchased in the tub. Rehung laundry tub and connected water supply and drain. Connected gas to dryer along with the vent. Also talked to me about some additional work that I might have done and what that would take to complete.

When Les arrived (on time) he looked at the "leak" and swiftly pointed out a valve that was not closed all the way. He carefully showed me the problem and what needed to be done. This took all of three minutes. He then proceeded to replace my bathroom sink faucet with one I had previously purchased. First he asked me to remove a rug for fear of getting it dirty. He then opened the package of the new faucet to see whether any pipe changes would be necessary and determined they would be. He next asked my preference as to whether to replace the pop-up because the new one was plastic while the old one was metal and he thought the metal one would last longer. However, because the top of the old one was scratched I did have him put in the new one. Les was personable and professional.

My overall experience was great. I noticed my a leak under kitchen on Sunday afternoon. I called Monday morning to various plumbing co's on Angie's list to get list of rates. I chose Zell because they gave me a more realistic cost for the repair. Mentioned I wanted this fixed today if possible. They said a plumber would call me to set up time. Tom called within that hour and we arranged time around lunch time. I decided to reschedule for later in the day to avoid going home and back on my lunch hour. I asked the woman if Tom would have time later in the day. She said she would reach him and have him call me. Tom called me within that same hour. We worked out at time later in the day and showed up after his other appt. Tom offered to give me a 30 minute advanced notice call that he was done and on his way. Tom showed up when he said he would and completed the job in under 1 hour. Very friendly and sociable. Would definitely call Zell Plumbing again.

Excellent. Tom thought we might have to go into interior walls of our 25 year old condominium. He was promptly able to fix the faucets, with repair parts saving us much money. Job was done quickly and efficiently

I was happy with the service. Tom was prompt, friendly, helpful, professional and completed the job efficiently. It was a great experience.

Very prompt. Showed up on time. They drove out and picked up the part. I was charged for their driving time, which I guess I had not expected. Appreciated that they took the time to contact the manufacturer to determine if there was a warranty Very professional. Very polite. Would definitely call again.

I called for service. Made an appointment. Zell Plumbing came out and fixed all of the problems. Nothing was major (thankfully). A new diverter and seal was installed and sealed with silicone for the bathtub leak. And new flapper and fill valve was installed in toilet. The sink had some loose parts that needed to be tightened. I was given a fair estimate on replacing our toilets.

The guy came the next morning at 6:00am, before business hours. We were very pleased.

It went well - he was friendly and very neat. He called a few days before to confirm the date and time. While he was here he answered questions about the job and other general plumbing questions. And he completed it all within 2 and 1/2 hrs.

Mark was prompt and courteous. It was a messy and stinky job but Mark remained cheerful and cleaned up as he went along. Zell Plumbing is the third plumber I've tried and Mark's excellent service will ensure that they are the first ones I call the next time I need a plumber.

Tom stopped by on the same day that I called and did a great job finding and repairing source of the leak. He had to cut into the drywall of the basement ceiling to fix the leak and was very conscientious about doing as little damage as possible, both to the ceiling and to the new carpet below. He was very friendly, professional and efficient.

I installed a water heater (as I've done before) and it wouldn't light. I guessed it probably just needed to purge the air from the gas line but I hadn't done it before wasn't willing to fiddle with it as I had company coming the same day. I called Zell and the on call guy took the call. He was fully booked for the day so he told me he'd have the owner Les call. Les called back in a half hour and he booked me in after two of his other calls and showed up around noon as promised. He was very professional, pleasant and informative. He purged the gas line and lit the heater and even added a drip tube to keep me in code. My only disappointment was the price which seemed steep for @ 20 minutes of work, but then again I was an emergency call and I didn't get estimates so I have no idea what the going rate is for such service.
