I think they did an excellent job. They showed up on time and got the job done quickly. They were very punctual. They cleaned up their mess when they were done and were very professional.

Selected from Angie's List. Described by phone scope of work. Scheduled work. He showed up on time and completed work. After he finished, we noticed a slight odor of natural gas from stove top. We phoned it in and he came out immediately to fix (no charge for the re-work visit).

Overall, I have had a great experience with him. The quality of his work was excellent, and he finished it quickly. He did a clean job. His price was a little bit high.

Zell Plumbing and Heating is on time, reasonably priced, and are very professional. They're very practical. We're very pleased with the service they've given us over the years.

I like using them because he is very thorough. He is very polite. He shows up on time. The last time he was here it went well. He does good preventive work so he does not have to come back.

Based on information provided in the phone call, I was told that I would most likely have to replace and update all of the copper pipes in my home to correct a water pressure problem, as well as an issue with freezing pipes at a cost of somewhere between $3,000 - $5,000 minimum. I was also told that it would cost $49 for someone to come out and bid on the job, and that the charge may or may not be applied to the cost of the work, depending on the size of the job. We ended up using another company and paid $500 for the work, including materials and no fee for estimate. The issue was resolved in one day without ripping out our pipes, tearing out walls, etc., etc.. Incidentally, the problem was in the fixtures, not the pipes, so replacing them wouldn't have solved a thing. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Tom was punctual and very professional. He did the work quickly and to my satisfaction. I would call on Zell Plumbing again.

Josh was very punctual, which is important to me. He even called an hour and a half before the scheduled appointment to see if he could come early! He assessed the problem, and although he found that it was difficult to completely fix (as it is an old tub and old house!) he suggested what would make the problem better for the time being. He tightened up everything so it didn't drip, and recommended further steps I could take to help the situation.

It went very well overall...I contacted them based on the information I read in Angie's list and they got back to me quickly and gave me an estimate of $1200 over the phone. Josh started the install on a Tuesday and got the sink and toilet installed. He originally planned to finish the work that Friday (day after Christmas), but called on Christmas day and left a message that he was going to be out of town with family on Friday and would be back to finish on Monday. He showed up first thing Monday morning and installed the tub/shower pieces. The bathroom looks great! During the process the tub got dinged in two places and we didn't notice until he had left. When he returned for the inspection we pointed out the damage and they agreed to credit us for the repair cost (the tub was recently refinished and if the dings were left as is there was a good chance that water would seep under the coating and cause problems.) The final cost was about $1500, $300 more than the original estimate which was made without seeing the project...it would have been helpful if he had let us know during the process that his estimate was low, but it wouldn't have made any difference at the end of the day. He did a nice job and the bathroom looks nice. The fact that they agreed to credit us for having the dings repaired was outstanding and showed a real commitment to customer service...and we would definitely use them again if needed.

Our house was lacking a stack exiting the roof like every other house has! Zell found where the stack ended, and extended the stack through the roof like it should be. He also reseated the toilet since it was leaking and causing the floor to warp. He tried to unstop the bathroom pipe, which was not something in the original bid, but couldn't do it, so he will be coming back to do that in a couple of weeks.

Bad luck!?$! Toilet #2 plugged up the next morning, not completely, but we would have needed to plunge it. Instead we called Josh's office. John insisted upon coming during lunch hour rather than at the end of the day and again was on site at the early end of his estimated time. After snaking the offending toilet again he commented that the flapper in each toilet looked at little old, a little worn out, and might be closing too soon to let enough water through to finish the flush. Less than the toilet's rated 1.5 gallons! The tanks would empty to only about 1/2 before refilling. He replaced the flapper on both toilets at no additional charge. The flushing action seems more powerful now and there has been no more problems with them in the past week.

We found Zell Plumbing through an Angie's List listing. The advice we received from the Zell plumber on selecting a replacement toilet was appropriate and once the new unit had arrived, an appointment was made within a few days. The plumber, Tom Schilling, was precisely on time and did the installation quickly and at a reasonable price. He was very cordial and neat and took care of everything. It was an excellent experience and we will definitely call Tom for all future plumbing needs.

The service was excellent from my first contact until the job was finished. Tom offered suggestions and options for the repairs, which I appreciated. The work was professional and the areas cleaned up when he was done. I would highly recommend them!

Josh did a great job. He was on time, very personable, listened well to understand what I wanted, and worked fast. Best part: he tried to find the least expensive fix first. For example, the kitchen faucet leaked. I had an whole new unit ready to replace it. Josh suggested he could fix the leak more quickly and I could return the faucet I had bought and save the $160.00. I gave a "B" for price because while they charge $142 an hour (I called 2 other plumbers and was quoted the same hourly rate) they do not charge for travel time to or from the job. Others don't.

After experiencing a huge leak (a regular hole) in the pipes under the kitchen sink, we first tried a "friend." Well we soon realized that the job was too complicated. This left me with a sink with no pipes underneath. I found Zell Plumbing on Angie's List and called them at 8 the next morning. They were there at 9 am. Because our kitchen sink has three compartments, the repair required some custom work. Everything was done by late morning. I LOVE ZELL PLUMBING AND ANGIE'S LIST. (I should have joined sooner!!)

I called Zell at 8:00 am, they took my information and said that a plumber would call back shortly. Tom called within a few minutes and said he could come out that day, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. He came around 2:00 pm and gave me three options for fixing the broken line with different prices. I opted to just have him patch it for the hourly rate of $140 plus parts. Tom was great, he gave me the options without pressure to select the most expensive one, he even suggested the cheapest option.

He gave an estimate over the phone. When he came to do the work, since we had removed some things ourselves, he gave us a discount. When he came, he was very punctual. He took everything out and cleaned up after himself. He called back later to make sure everything was working properly.

My experience with them was excellent. The service man, Tom, came out quickly and was able to find the problem. He also did a couple extra things to make sure that the problem was taken care of.

Another excellent Zell experience. Is it ok to love your plumber? It had been two years since I had used Zell the first time, but when disaster struck again, I knew just who to call. Tom was able to come the same day, competently assessed the situation, and efficiently repaired both problems. Since I had house guests during that week, and an extra two people using the solitary bathroom in my older home, it was an enormous relief to know that I could make one call and my plumbing problems would disappear. Almost as good as waving a magic wand!

When I called Tom, he was unable give me an estimate because the leak could have several sources, but he did say that the initial visit would be $150, adding parts and labor from there. Because my house was built in 1921, and the pipes had been replaced by a do-it-yourself-er, Tom had to make some adjustments for the fixtures to fit, and it looks great. He was professional and explained exactly what he was doing, and what the problem was. My dogs love him, so that is a great endorsement, too!

I thought the price was fantastic. They are very timely and I think that they are very reasonably priced and courteous toward their customers. I thought that the work was quick and without incident.

Wonderful. Tom knew right away what the problem was and was able to explain how my old house was built and how to fix the problem. He was neat, expeditious and very friendly. I will definitely call Zell again.
