We have a yearly service agreement with Scott. On this visit, he serviced the furnace and air exchanger. He will come back in the spring to service the central a/c - the $300 includes that future visit. Scott explained that our furnace will need replacement in the next few years. This will be less than the expected lifetime of the furnace, but it suffered from standing in water through the spring just after the house was built (due to problems the builder refused to address; don't get me started). Scott has been helping us nurse the furnace along for the past 15 years with minor, less costly repairs. Also, shortly before the furnace work, he did a major repair to our washing machine. Scott has been our repairman for furnace/HVAC through two houses and more than 20 years. We trust his work, and because of our confidence in him we've tended to use him for any and all repairs we can persuade him to do, not just furnace work.

Their service was excellent. They are very trustworthy, and punctual. The did not do any work that was unauthorized.

AC conked out on one of the hottest nights of the summer. I called S&R because I knew they would fix it fast. They sent a tech the next morning who did just that by replacing a capacitor.. He diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes and fixed it fast. S&R isn't the cheapest option, but you can count on quality, prompt work.

As always, great. Rob installed my furnace/AC nearly nine years ago and with a yearly checkup it performs flawlessly and it's something I never have to worry about. Rob consistently delivers high quality service and is very professional and courteous.

It went well overall. They were great with the initial purchase and when they came back this past week. They came out to give us the information on how much the new furnace and air conditioner would cost. They came to fix the furnace at first, and they put a part in, but when they realized we needed a new system, they took the part back deducted it from what they charged us. I was very pleased with them. They were friendly, attentive, and easy to work with. Also they were honest and not pushy. The unit is working well, and we have not had any problems with it.

Our Whirlpool front-load washer quit working so we looked on Angie's List for a company to call. We found S&R locally and called them. They were out the next day...unfortunately the part was not available immediately so they returned the next day to fix the problem only to discover it was a different problem. They only charged us once for the trip to our house and it took them 3 trips to remedy the problem with the washer. The person who helped us was very knowledgeable and informative. We would certainly consider them in the future.

Routine repair, We called, they fixed it promptly and professionally, no problems.

Rob sent one of his guys Brandon on the no heat service call to our place. Brandon checked out the outdoor furnace unit and verified that no gas was coming to the gas valve. He then trudged through all the snow out back to find the gas meter was clear of ice and snow. In the end, all the service needed was done to the maxitrol gas regulator (a.k.a. a bolt was tapped on it to break up some ice buildup) to get the gas flowing again in order to get the furnace running. Rob, Scott, Brandon have provided friendly outstanding service each of the 3 visits that I recall in the past 5 years (2 on the furnace side and 1 on the A/C side of the outdoor unit). Each trip, they've explained the issues/resolution in great detail. I've in turn learned more about the furnace-a/c from them to where I can provide self-service on the little things to keep the furnace running, equaling less service calls. I highly recommend them and I will definitely be calling them again for any future service.

At the beginning of the heating season we had S&R come out to repair our furnace. This was the second consecutive year we need a significant repair at the beginning of the season. We decided to look into replacing the current heating and air conditioning system and asked Scott to give us a proposal. Scott setup an appointment and left some information for us to review. During the sales appointment Scott reviewed the status of our old systems, presented our options, and described the entire process. S&R installed the systems on Tuesday, 12/21/10. The installation took about five hours and we are very pleased. Five workmen, including Scott, were involved. They even shovelled a very large amount of snow to get to the air conditioning system. When the installation was completed (they revmoved all the old systems) Scott completed the paper work for the rebates and warranty's. When we asked him about maintenance he showed us the S&R maintenance plan which we purchased. Scott reviewed each of the sytems components and gave us a very complete training session on the control system. The outstanding element of working with S&R is how complete Scott is in providing information. Scott takes the time to review your current system, present to you the range of system options with pricing, and then in detail decribes the process from ordering to receiving the rebates.

We were happy with them. They weren't the cheapest. They were friendly.

They arrived when they said they would, the installers were respectful of my house and removed their shoes when they came in from the snow. They cleaned up their work area when they were done, that area of the basement was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. The removal and installation of the new furnace and water heater was quick and they were efficent. Some of the work was done ahead of time so when they got to the house all they had to do was install. We were very happy with the work and I would highly recommend them.

We were checking out furnace and air conditioning and we ended up getting a new Bryant air conditioner. However, we went with a different company. The reason is their prices. They have good equipment but their prices are kind of high and we went with another outfit out of Ham Lake; Air Mechanical. Their prices were high but they utilized the Bryant pieces that went with it. I don?t know how to explain it but his was all Bryants parts and stuff. We had S&R for a long time and we just had a disagreement with pricing of that particular unit and decided not to go with them. For the amount of time we were with them and what came out of that, I would give them a failing grade. I was very disappointed with them.

In both cases, the technician showed up on time and finished in about an hour. I like to learn about what's going on, and the guys were accommodating to me asking questions and answered them nicely. I liked that the A/C was honest and down-to-earth about some dented fins not being a big issue.

The experience went really well with S&R Appliance. I thought the dryer wasn't working again, and they came out with no charge. They were really helpful in telling me when to repair the machine or when to replace it. They did a good job on my dryer. They were very punctual and responsive. I didn't feel strange having them in my house at all. I put their stick on our dryer, in case we needed them again.

In inspecting our furnace, Scott found serious issues with our system that were not identified at the time it was inspected (by two different services, including an HVAC service) just 18 months ago at the time of our home purchase. This wasn't exactly a crisis replacement, but we knew the life of our present system was close to the end. Scott presented different options for replacement, from the least costly on up. He was professional but spoke in layman's English, which I always appreciate. He admitted that their pricing might not be as low as their competitors, but really talked up their quality service. He was sensitive to cost issues, and sweetened the deal we made by throwing in some nice extras. He was certainly aiming to please and to gain our satisfaction with their service, and he succeeded. Later that day, I went online to further research Bryant's 'Evolution' system to read consumer reviews and to confirm that the estimate was in the ballpark, compared to similar installations. The rebates were a real plus, too, as they have increased significantly in recent months. Scott was flexible and accommodating regarding payment options. The installation was just a few days later, involving several workers, and it went smoothly and without surprises, and exactly within the time-frame that Scott had said. Although I know next to nothing about the machinery involved, it appeared to me to be excellent quality work. To make room for our washer-dryer, they installed the water heater six or so feet away from its old location. Scott spent a lot of time going over the installation and showing us how the (computer-like) thermostat worked with the system. He went ahead and custom pre-programmed it to our desired set points, instructed us in the basic settings. There is a 10-year parts/labor warranty with this system, and we also purchased a routine maintenance contract, which Scott offered to us at half their regular cost. There was a follow-up visit a couple of days later to check settings and pressure. Everything was A-OK. Scott's personal yet professional demeanor and service made us feel that he was committed to our complete satisfaction, and reassured us that any problems we might have would be dealt with in the same way. Althoughit's painful to have to spend so much, we know we got a top-notch product backed by reliable, professional and expert service. We're very satisfied. Thanks again Scott!

They did everything quite well, and did a thorough job. I am very happy with them and the service they provided. They were quick and cleaned up after themselves. I will call upon them again if I need this service again.

The washing machine failed to pump out the water after the wash cycle was completed. I called S & R Appliance Repair in the morning and Seon, the repair person, arrived in the afternoon. After diagnosing the problem, he left to obtain some parts, and then returned and completed the repair. The pump had to be replaced, and given the age of the machine, we both thought that as long as he was here and had the machine apart, that the drive belts should also be replaced. The repaired machine now works well. The repair person left some grime on the outside of the machine, but that was easily cleaned with some spray cleaner and a paper towel, so just a minor quibble.

They did their job. They probably weren't as flexible with their scheduling as some of the groups (companies) but otherwise, they did good work.

Scott was able to arrive the same day I called. He vacuumed out accumulated lint on the fan that caused it to become unbalanced.

Scott did a great job explaining our options for furnace repair or replacement and information on rebates available. We decided old system should be replaced. Scott, Rob, and Jim replaced the entire system in one day; the day originally scheduled, including the hot tub heater work which wasn't certain he could complete the same day. Workmanship is excellent. All pipe runs were well laid and tidy. All penetrations clean and well-located and well sealed. They installed a clean, orderly shutoff system for all appliances. They explained the function of the system and thermostat very well. S&R communicate very well on site and off. Their cleanup was impeccable: nothing left lying around; all waste flattened and contained; all floor surfaces protected during the work. They removed all old equipment. Comfort level of the new system is wonderful. We love the Bryant Evolution control. I wish every contractor experience was as good as this one.

This is the same company that sold us the furnace 3 years ago. Very available for questions, very knowledgable, and straight-forward about future servicing. Would highly recommend this company.

I have called S & R Appliance for other appliance repairs in the past. They call back promptly to set up appointments, arrive within specified time, and have always been able to diagnose, and repair my appliances quickly. I thought the charges were a bit high- $21 for 4 small plastic "clutch dog" spacers and $94.95 for a 15-20 minute repair.

Responded quickly, performed competently. No idea if the price was typical.
