I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I requested detailed bids from about 8 contractors for this job. I am remodeling a 100+-year-old house and am very attentive to the details of all the work that has been done. I knew I needed a company that would do a very high-quality job. This company out-performed the other firms from the start, especially in how they took time to understand the details of this job and explicitly address them in the bid. The siding job presented several challenges (some rot on the original structure; out-of-level areas, complications with windows, etc.). It wasn't a straightforward job. This company returned to the site multiple times to address details of the job and ensure that we had a good plan in place before the work began. Bear Roofing and Exterior's approach was to do the job the right way rather than to take any shortcuts (one example: another reputable firm that is highly recommended on this site proposed installing Hardie over the existing lap siding in one problematic area, which is against the recommendation of the siding manufacturer). They were also flexible when some of the details of the job needed to change (before the job began). The siding crew was extremely competent and professional. I spoke with their references, who gave them very high marks. They performed a quality job -- very good attention to the quality of caulking, for example. Theirs wasn't the lowest bid, but it was within the range of other bidders. I recommend them very highly and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Everything was excellent. They were great, and very professional about everything they did. They were always on time, and well organized. Everyone had a specific job to do. They all seemed to be very experienced, and they got everything done with precision and in a very good amount of time.

The service was great. Greg showed up on time for the estimate (which is unusual in this day and age) and he helped us find the color to match our trim and the Timberline style we wanted. His references were excellent so we set up a date and they were at our house with the dumpster on the exact date we scheduled. They did the tear off and the roofing was completed in one day. Clean up was excellent. We never found even a nail in the garage area (where they had to replace the boards) or anywhere in the yard. They completely protected all my flowers and shrubs and we were totally impressed. My husband is extremely particular and was there to make sure they did everything he wanted. He was amazed that he didn't have to ask them to do anything - they knew what we wanted and never tried to cut corners. The cost was exactly as the estimate stated (even though they had to replace several boards)without charging extra. The job went great and so was the quality of their work.
