As mentioned above, the owners of Laurentian Granite, Monument, and Stone in Virginia, Minnesota are holding $2800.00 worth of my granite as hostage. I have called 37 times, left messages, sent certified/registered letters, and even drove 14 hours to Virginia, Minnesota round trip. They have never returned my calls nor answered my letters nor met me at their store when a time was arranged previously. I was promised the granite by Mark Sutich, one of the owners of the company, as he said that they "would do the right thing". Unfortunately, Kandi Sutich the other owner, refused to accept the agreement that I had with Mr. Sutich. I have never been treated with such disrespect as a customer as I have been by the owners, Kandi and Mark Sutich, of Laurentian Granite, Monument, and Stone. I know of other customers that have been treated as badly as I have been. It appears that customer service is not something that this company cares about.
Description of Work: I purchased slabs of granite to have installed in my cabin up in northern Minnesota. The original owners of the company did a marvelous job of installing the countertops. There were parts of the granite slabs leftover and the new owners, although they have the paperwork that states that I purchased the granite, have refused to acknowledge that the granite is mine. I have called for over a year and still they are not returning my phone calls nor my letters. I have even made an appointment to see them in Virginia Minnesota and after a 7 hour trip one way, they did not show up for the meeting.

Response from Laurentian Monument Granite & Stone
In response to [ member's name removed] review of 04/17/13 I would like to clarify the facts. First off it is necessary to state that [ member's name removed] has never been a customer of LMGS. We never quoted or performed work for her. Also it is necessary to state that there has never been original owners of our company as she states, she had work done by a totally different business that no longer exists. She again states that we have paperwork stating her purchase and I again must remind her that she has never purchased anything from our company. She did make several phone calls of which were promptly returned, until they became extremely redundant and argumentative. We quit returning calls when she became foul and abusive. We did have a company representative meet with her upon her request after she made the 4hr and 20 min trip from her home to Virginia not 7hrs as she implies. We make the trip frequently. When I spoke to her about this alleged situation I told her “I would look into it and do what was right” I never promised to give her free granite. I contacted my attorney and explained the situation and followed his advice and did what was right, unfortunately what was right did not satisfy [member's name removed.] She purchased granite from a company that went bankrupt, she left the excess granite lay around in their way for almost five years without having any further products made with it, although they were told that her intentions were to have further fabrications made from it. Due to bankruptcy and foreclosure the bank secured all of the assets of the company she had done business with. LMGS purchased those assets from the bank. Her only recourse would have been to talk to the owners of the company she had been doing business with when the bankruptcy notification was published. As for her remark about knowing other unhappy customers of LMGS, I must say that this is a fabrication. LMGS provides the finest granite fabrications available with worldwide recognition and set the standards for customer satisfaction. Sincerely, Mark Sutich Pres.
