Jose and his crew were fantastic! I'm a DIY'er when it comes to home renovations, but these guys made me very happy I left the Sheetrock to the professionals. I simply can't say enough good things about this business. JJ Drywall Services under-bid four other local contractors--by nearly half--so we went ahead and retained their services to finish the basement walls and ceiling. Their price was lower than competitors, but the quality of their work was a good or better than anyone around. The only downside (and this was minor for me) was that working with JJ Drywall required a bit of extra coordination on my part. They asked me to coordinate Sheetrock delivery and haul-away of scraps. But, their final bill was about $2,000 less than competitors, and so I was more than happy to handle these minor details. If you're looking for someone who handles the entire project from planning through clean-up and paint, JJ Drywall may not be for you. However, if you're looking for great work at an unbeatable price, there's no one better in Rochester. Throughout, JJ's crew was considerate, helpful, and professional. The Sheetrockers helped move the 12-foot sheets through an egress window for a small fee--$200 for 32 sheets--again far less than Menards would have charged for the same. The two Sheetrockers had the entire basement hung and the basement cleaned up before my older kids came home from school. Jose came by later in the week to take care of tape and mud, which was flawless. He even matched a knockdown ceiling to the rest of the house--you'd never know it was a renovation. Additionally, Jose and his crew were a pleasure to have in our home. They seemed to enjoy the curiosity of our two dogs and three young children, who occasionally wandered into the basement as they were working. Altogether, JJ Drywall Services finished three rooms, plus a utility: - Large bedroom, including around the egress window and two closet doors - Half bath, around roughed-in plumbing and two entry doors - Family room, including around an egress window and in-wall fireplace - Mechanical room In short: Hire Jose. He's responsive, professional, reasonably priced, and very good at what he does. Language barriers were an issue at first--he speaks English very well, but to my untrained ear he could be difficult to understand at times. We found it best to keep in touch by text, which eliminated any confusion and is more efficient anyway.
