I was told I needed a new furnace by another company. I wanted another bed/opinion. They showed and explained everything so thoroughly!! No, I did not need a new furnace, I was so great full for their honesty!

We hoped to repair our old furnace, but learned the expense might add up almost to the cost of a new one. Things were explained clearly so that I was confident we made the right decision. The new furnace works nicely, much quieter and faster to heating the house too.

I am providing an update to this review. I received a call from companies owner and was patient to hear what I have to say. Explained in details in their billing practice and apologized for scheduling discrepancies. He also refunded $200. That was a grand gesture made to correct previous overcharge and I appreciated that very much. I thought I should take time and provide this feed back and revert my review for excellent responsiveness and work. My experience with Hoffman Cooling & Heating was a disaster from start to end. I called them on Friday morning, I received a call back at noon scheduling me for Saturday with $89 initial visitation price. I waited Saturday till 2:30 and called them to see why no one showed up. I was told there is nothing on their schedule but they can set one up but it be $129 cause its Saturday. I somehow convinced them about how I scheduled it previous day and quoted price of $89. Thankfully they obliged to send a repair person for that agreed price. He (Joe) showed up and replaced a Capacitor. I asked how much that Capacitor costs, I was told it is $316. He sepnt about 15 minutes and charged me a total of $405.83 ($316.83 for part and $89 for service). After he left I Googled the replaced part GE 97F9833, it was available on Amazon for $19. I promptly called them and asked why I was charged $316.83? Especially conning me thats how expensive that part is and it is hard to get it from factory and such. I understand someone charging me for part & labor. If they told me part is $50 and we charge labor $1000 per hour I would have hired someone else. So simply put, if you want a honest business that charges you a fair price go somewhere else. I definitely not giving my business to these greedy people.

Best price in the area. The installation tech was great. I appreciated that they cleaned out all the duct work and vents in the house (included in the price). My concerns were addressed quickly and promptly -- the owner ensured we were satisfied with our purchase.

Great company to work with! Owner was very friendly and helpful. Work was well done and techs were friendly. We ended up having our father get a system through them as well.

Awful - over confident individual took apart heater, couldn't get it back together...then advises he just happened to have a sale rep hearby who could sell me a whole new furnces - be ware of these guys...

As I write this, they're installing a new furnace in our basement. To get to that point, they had to drive from Stillwater to Crystal on the morning everyone was digging out after a 10 inch snowfall. We're so thankful they made the extra effort to get here. Our old furnace died overnight. Only the fireplace is keeping our house in the mid-50s. The furnace + install was by far the most reasonably priced of all the companies who gave us estimates. Can't wait for our new furnace to get up and running.

The furnace went out at my rental property on Saturday afternoon, as temperatures were dropping way below zero. Given the extreme cold it was tough to find a company that would come out on short notice. After trying some of the "big" companies I called Hoffman. I was connected with one of the owners within just a few minutes. He gave me a quote over the phone -- about 40% less than one of the other companies that responded! The tech was out at the house by 8:00 AM the next morning replacing the furnace. Everything went smoothly, and the heat was on again! I really appreciated the fair price and extremely prompt service. It saved me from potentially huge damage of burst pipes, tenant displacement, etc.

Despite this being a very hot streak with high demand for A/C repair and installation Hoffman had us up and running within five days of my first call to them. Two days after getting estimate! No issues, smooth install. Very happy with service.

The technician performed his work. Explained the issue with our furnace and wrote an estimate. We did not repair that day because our home is under warranty as it was recent sale. Once I explained the situation of the home warranty to the technician, he understood the sale/repair would not occur that day. I paid for the service per the advertised price. Done.

I originally called to have my ducts and furnace cleaned based on a good price seen on-line. This was performed to my expectations. Two weeks later, I began having problems with the furnace operation. (I can't tell if this was coincidence or not. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since it was an old furnace). I was having problems with my furnace blower not coming on. They returned and diagnosed the problem as a broken fan/limit switch, replacing it for $400. The problem persisted after they left, and a new technician came back to take another look (no charge). After another, more thorough inspection, everything appeared to be working properly, but a week later the blower motor failed completely leaving me with a cold house. This was ultimately the problem, not the limit switch. They quoted me $600 for the new motor, which was a significantly higher over other quotes I received. (Others quoted about $350) Plus their quote to have the furnace inspected to meet city code for a rental property was significantly higher than others. I gave up on them and had another outfit come out. The new company immediately spotted two cracks in the heat exchanger, a potentially dangerous condition for CO poisoning. Hoffman missed this completely despite two inspections. In summary, they changed a part that wasn't broken and their subsequent quotes were so high they could not even be considered for additional work. Finally, they missed two important defects during their inspection that others caught in minutes. I spent $400 on a furnace that got red-tagged anyway.

Work performed as scheduled and appropriate. However, it took several communications after the installation to get company to pull a permit from city so I could have the job inspected.

We had 3 companies complete estimates for us. Something I respected on their part was during the estimate process, the salesman went through the estimate step by step on how he calculated his price. When we did look at a couple other estimates that came in slightly less than his he told us he quite frankly gave us the best price he could up front. He was not trying to bump up his prices, that he gave us his best price right off the bat. I respected that and it stood out to me. The way we talked I believed him when he said that. He was very friendly. He was willing to vouch for another company and their good work if we chose them instead of him. That was ultimately the reason we picked Hoffman over the other company that came in over $200 cheaper. That is not something you see on a regular basis so we went with them. I have already been recommending them and we will use them again if the need arises. Their price was just a bit more. They did give us a 10 year warranty.

They did a good job and they cleaned up after themselves. They were timely. Their price wasn?t the cheapest, but it was appropriate for what we got. I would use their services in the future too.

The job went okay. I thought that they hurried a little bit. They also got the lines crossed during the installation, so they are coming back to fix it. Their customer service was very good. They were very responsive to my phone call.
