I really liked Doug and his honesty. So far no issues with the roof. But he promised to deal with anything else that may arise, if it wasn't fixed. The job on my roof was very small and I appreciated Doug's professionalism and candor. I actually learned more about my roof than I thought I would.

Doug was not able to do the work but he contacted someone who would and had that person contact me. Thor Anderson did the work and did a great job. Thanks Doug for putting me in cotact with Thor. Doug took an interest in making sure my job got done and set up Thor to contact me. I would recommend both Doug and Thor.

The original date/day they were supposed to do the work, they ended up calling me and saying they wouldn't be able to make it. They then rescheduled for a few days later. They did a great job removing the snow and ice from the roof and even chipped ice off my sidewalk in front of my house and let me know what they thought the problem was with the water leaking in. The service was relatively expensive, but well worth it for the result.

The work turned out good. He was very prompt, effective and professional. I would use him again in the future if necessary.

We spent a total of $500 on that service. It was a real small job and I felt that the amount we paid was a bit extreme, but that was their minimum. They brought a steamer machine up there and also knock the ice off.

I called three companies and Doug's Roofing was the only company able to come within a couple days. I had experienced some minor leaking the weekend before. With the expected higher temperatures, I wanted the ice dams removed before any interior damage would occur. Initially scheduled for 2/11, but they had experienced equipment problems in the freezing temperatures. They were willing to come out after dark on the 11th but I preferred they work in the daylight, I was able to change my work schedule so they came on 2/12. Doug works with Thor Anderson Contracting, Thor and his associate came out and removed the snow from the roof followed by steaming off of most of the ice. They worked for 2 hours, then Thor showed me pictures of how much was removed. I decided to have them work another hour to get most of the ice removed. They did a good job of removing snow from the sidewalk and driveway in the front. They left the back path full of snow and ice chunks but cleared before they left after I requested it. There was absolutely no way I would have been able to move the huge chunks of ice out of the path. I did not notice until after they left that my back porch doorway was not cleared of the snow / ice removed from the roof. I do believe they would have returned to clear it if I had contacted them.

Doug and his assistant did the job very well. He was thorough, on time, charged a fair price consistent with his initial estimate, and was enjoyable to deal with. I hope I won't have to have this kind of work done again anytime soon, but if needed, I'll call this company first.

I called doug (owner of company) and told him I was having alot of leaks in my home due to the melting snow on my roof. He sent Thor Anderson and Doug's father out a couple of days later to remove the snow and ice. It was a huge job and they removed a ton of ice and snow. Thor then steamed the roof clean without damaging our shingles. He worked very hard in sub arctic temperatures and was still smiling with a frozen beard when he was finished. He didn't charge me for an extra 45 miniutes of work and EVEN gave me the Angies list discount. Important to me as I'm a nurse is they used safety harnesses. Thankyou Angie's List!

Doug was willing to come out and give us an estimate. (Some others just shot us a dollar value and wanted to show up to shovel) At that time he removed snow from the roof to inspect the depth of the ice dams and gave us a thorough explanation of the services and process. Being a roofer by trade and not just removal of snow, he suggested scenarious to research the source of the problem so this would not happen again. He scheduled the work promptly, arrived on time and made special arrangements to get his equipment to the job site because of narrow driveway. His crew removed all snow from the roof, steamed ice dams on two sides of the house and removed all snow from the deck, walkways, sidewalks and driveway. They used safety ropes and harnesses, had reliable equipment and worked through without breaks. They moved our shovels and sleds so they would not sustain damage from falling ice/snow and checked with us to be sure walkways were shoveled wide enough and to our satisfaction. We felt they did more than we anticipated in clearing off the garage roofs and making sure the deck was cleared. Doug and his crew were friendly and knowlegeable, worked tirelessly until in was completed, and cleaned up after the job. We highly recommend Doug's Roofing.

Doug works in collaboration with Thor Anderson Contracting. Doug came out for the initial quote, but Thor did the work. Both Thor and Doug were excellent to work with and I would definitely hire them again and refer them to others. Doug (love his huge boots) was very friendly, helpful, and answered all of our questions. He also provided a quote that split out the cost for different sections of the roof and advised us on where the highest priorities were. Compared to the rates that we saw elsewhere online, the quotes seemed very much in line. The next day, Thor quickly arranged a time that suited us to do the work and completed the work including steaming away the ice dam and raking the extra snow off the roof to prevent future dams. He even cleared away the snow that was raked off the roof. He also threw up numerous salt pucks and took the time to explain to us what he thought could be done to help ensure ice dams don't occur again. Great overall service!

On Saturday, 1/15/11, I called Doug's Roofing after finding them on Angie's list. They were the first to call back after leaving messages with three businesses. Doug had his partner come out within an hour and look at the job and gave me a verbal bid along with when they would be able to do the job which was within 2 days of the bid. They came on Monday, 1/17/11, removed all the snow from my two story roof and all the ice jams which equalled about 40-50 feet worth. Along the way they kept me informed. They removed all the snow from the patio, sidewalks and driveway that came down from the roof. When the project was done they professionally talked about what they found, ways to help with prevention of more ice jams and talked about other options overall. They were very informative and willing to answer any questions I had. WONDERFUL JOB! They gave me a discount because I got their information from Angie's list.

I called Doug's roofing and their response was immediate. Within a half hour one of their guys was at our door, giving us an estimate as to time and cost, etc. They said they would come back on Sunday morning and they were true to their word. They did an incredible amount of work in getting the roof all shoveled off, steaming the ice dams away (working on about 50-ft. of roof), shoveling off the debris from the deck and sides of the house where snow was being shoveled off, etc. When the work was done they stuck by their original cost estimate even though they had worked considerable time beyond that. We were very satisfied and would recommend the contractor to others.
