Description of Work: He arrived late for the scheduled appointment. When I showed him the room that needed the wallpaper removed, he refused to do so, stating I should just paint over it. | |I moved on to other rooms that needed to have wallpaper removed. He settled on removing border around windows and the ceiling. | |He was hired for wallpaper removal yet arrived with no supplies. I had to go to the store to buy what was needed. | |He never actually completed removing the border and adhesive backing. Instead he applied spackle over what was left on the wall. | |He created more work for me than what was originally there. I should have just done it myself.

When I contacted them, I was informed that he could not do the service because he got a job and had started working full time. Description of Work: Showed up late. Could not perform tasks they said they could. Mis managed time. 16 hours of work barely done over 4 days causing our schedule to be turned upside down. Had agreed to have additional work done at time of estimate, but at rate the first purchased work was done we canceled the additional and still have an unfinished project.

Description of Work: Bought a big deal to remove wallpaper in my kitchen that has been there for 20 years Provider advised treating the walls and painting over the wallpaper because he feared damage to the drywall if he tried to remove. He did charge me more for the change in plans. He treated the walls and I contracted with him to return in March to complete the painting of the kitchen and also to repair and paint my entry hallway and my bathroom.

Description of Work: We had to get rid of wallpaper and I was going to get him to just do the wallpaper since the wallpaper was extremely easy to remove he offered to paint as well. So They ended up removing the wall paper and mudding and also painting it for me.

I waited and never heard anything. I emailed several times, even emailing to let them know I wanted a refund for my purchase because I already got someone else to do the work and still never heard back.

+ 0 moreA&E responded next day to my inquiry about deck work. We scheduled a time for Elisha to come give estimate, he was a few minutes early. After giving on-site consultation and estimate, we booked the job. He began the work within a week of the estimate, on time. The wet May weather set him back a bit, but when he and his partner had spells of dry weather, they were out working, including working on one of the few sunny Sundays we had in May. Several times Elisha advised us on issues he spotted in doing his work, such as areas of wood rot that need to be addressed, as well as previous applications of stain/paint that were done incorrectly and meant we would have to use a different paint. Overall we're very happy with the quality of the work and the deck turned out beautifully. They used top quality (Valspar/Cabot) paints and my wife loves the way it looks and is very happy, which makes me very happy. ;-)
Description of Work: Treated, powerwashed, scraped our deck. Re-painted spindles, flooring and steps.

He did a great job getting the old paper off , said it was easier than he expected, and offered us more work since he didn't need the full four hours we paid for on the "big deal." We'll be contacting him again!

+ -1 moreAgain, he was very nice, said he was a Christian and talked morales and values but then could not communicate with us when he would be late or coming/not coming as well as doing the work the way he said he would. He would not even let us know the color paint we had him use on one room as it had all been used and we had to do touchups. We ended up taking a paint chip to Sherwin Williams to get it matched. I wish him well but would not recomment him to anyone we know.
Description of Work: When Elisha first came out he talked very professional and was very nice. Actually, he was always very nice so no complaint about that at all. One thing he is not is punctual. I stayed home from work waiting for him to show up the first day of which he was almost two hours late - with no call saying he was running late. When he did finally get here he said he could do the painting and would fix any imperfections in the walls. We decided to have him do more than just the painting we had a coupon for - which really, the coupon seemed a little deceivig because in the end, the room ended up costing much more to paint - aditional cost was the primer and actual paint as well. The overall painting took longer than expected and he was "teaching" someone to paint as well of which we were never told. I would have preferred not to had that done on my house. Many spots were missed and there was paint we found on the woodwork. He said he would come back to fix but never did. When we originally had him out we asked if he did decks. We needed ours totally stripped and redone. He said he could do that no problem and no questions asked. We had lived in this house just over 7 years and had stained the deck twice ourselves. Prior to that we did not know the amount of times it had veen stained. Elisha decided without telling usand just not showing up that he was not doing the deck as well as saying we were dishonest about the amount of times it was stained. We told him we only knew of the two times we had stained it ourselves.

+ -1 moreI bought a Living Social deal from this company in August 2012. In October I called to schedule a time for Elisha to come out. He never returned my call. I called again. Elisha scheduled a "consult" visit - the day came and went and he never showed. I called again to schedule the consult. He did show up that time. One of the first things he asked me was whether I had read the fine print on the deal, as I would have to pay additional money for primer (his deal was two coats of paint). We decided he would paint a small bedroom. He was so over scheduled that he could not fit me in until mid-December. He did arrive on the day of the painting - albeit an hour late - and did an okay paint job. Because the paint was still so wet, he promised to be by the next morning to fix any defects the next morning. He never showed. I called him and left a message on the following Monday. He never called back and never showed up again (I made the mistake of paying him the day he did the painting). The discounted services are not worth all the hassle of working with this company!

+ -1 moreElisha did a fine job painting two rooms. I wasn't blown away, but no big complaints. My big complaint is punctuality. He was on time when he came for his consultation - I had emailed him my address. However, the day he was supposed to come paint (I took vacation to be there) he was over 2 hours late. He then had to leave after 45 minutes for a doctor appt with his family. That isn't a big deal, happens to everyone. But, I don't see why it couldnt have been scheduled for a different day when he had 2 weeks notice that he was coming to my house to paint. He originally said it would take 1 day (8 hours) to complete the work. But, because he was late and had to leave for over an hour for the doc appt, he didn't finish that day. I agreed to let him come the next day to finish up. He asked to come as early as possible, so we agreed he'd come at 7:30am. He was three hours late. 3 hours! He also scratched my bookshelf on his way in the house that first day. And, stepped on and broke the wood grate that covers the air return in the floor. In three years, no one who has visited my house has broken them because common sense tells you not to step on it. He did not offer to replace it or fix it. I would not hire him again.

+ -1 moreHe did a good job explaining what he was doing and keeping paint off of my woodwork, ceiling, etc. Two items to be aware of if you use him: 1. He doesn't close paint cans. This isn't a big deal if you know it, but I didn't. After my initial consultation I went to put my paint away, tilted the can and spilled paint all over my floor. It was a mess. After he came back and painted my kitchen, I remembered this and closed all of the cans he used after he left. 2. While he was pushing my refridgerator back against the wall my copper waterline got pinched and started to leak. He stuck around to help me repair it - however I was the one who had to go to the hardware store and pay for the parts. Although this was a relatively inexpensive fix, since he was the one who pinched the line, I was surprised he didn't take responsibility to get the new part or offer to pay for the fix.

+ 0 moreElisha did an excellent job. After coming over and giving me an hour consultation, we set up the appointment to paint the next week. He showed up on time, and finished the job in 2 days, as promised. After seeing how the kitchen looked, with primer on it only.. I became inspired, and wanted to do my foyer as well. Elisha came back for the 3rd day to paint and finish my foyer. I called him a day later, as after the paint dried, there was one spot that looked like it needed a touch up... he came back that following Monday and everything looks perfect! I would certainly hire him again.
