For water heaters, we charge by the job and we can give fairly accurate quotes over the phone with some information/pictures from you. REMODELING: We offer FREE quotes fr Angie's List customers. The leak we had was an emergency, and I had a hard time getting many companies nearby to call us back quickly or send someone out. They were able to send a crew within the hour of my call and they got started on the issue right away, which I appreciated. However, the work that they performed was not done to code, as we later found out when another plumbing company came in to do another job. Otherwise, they were courteous and professional and fixed the leak.

Discovered standing water in basement around 10 am. Called Norblom around 10 am. Mark was here within 1/2 hr. Installed new cap on main line to prevent overflow. Zach was here hour later to clean drain and remove backup. Problem resolved within less than 5 hours.

This is the second time we have used Norblom. We found them on Angie's list in the past and we had a very good experience. Upon coming back from a Thanksgiving trip, we found that one of our pipes had sprung a leak in the basement. I called Norblom early on Sunday and left an emergency message. They returned the call within the hour. After advising me that a Sunday service call would be very expensive, they agreed to add a very early, 7am, call to Monday's schedule so we would have water sooner. The service tech arrived at exactly 7am and went to work fixing the leak. Since we had a bad shut off valve, he suggested an additional shutoff valve instead of replacing the first one, which reduced the cost for us. We were very happy with the service.

We had a clogged bathroom sink drain. I did what I could and couldn't get it open. I called one plumber who worked at it for a while and suggested getting a drain specialist, which I then did. The drain specialist also could not get it unclogged and said we'd need to have someone open up the wall and cut the drain pipe open to see what was going on. That's when I called Norblom. They sent someone over the same day. So far as I know, he didn't figure out what had clogged the drain either, but after getting into the wall, cutting open the pipe, and sending a snake down the pipe, it did start draining. He also cleaned up pretty well after himself. All in all, it was a satisfactory conclusion to a frustrating plumbing incident.

Jimmy was on time and efficient. He was thorough and the work was done and charged for as quoted. They are honest and hard working. Thanks Jimmy. As a new home owner we discovered a crack and leak in the 4" cast iron waste pipe and were not happy. They took care of things quickly and economically and did a great job.

I sent an Email regarding the issue (minor Toilet and shut-off valve
problems) late at night, and received a call, and return email early the
next day.
The plumber arrived during the time we agreed upon, and completed the work quickly / efficiently.
It was great to get it resolved the "same day" - but plumbing is expensive! (not Norblom's fault).

I believe I emailed them for an estimate and they emailed back indicating they charge by time/materials. We scheduled for Norblum to come between 12-2 and they were very punctual and introduced themselves. I directed them to the kitchen and they installed our new faucet and disposal to the new sink. I was able to use my Angie's list coupon for 10% off labor, so that helped a little. It was still expensive, though I knew what the costs were prior to them coming.

Jim P arrived on time. He discussed problems and repairs as he went. Some potential problems had been identified by a home inspector before we bought the house; but Jim didn't do anything to those things he didn't think needed to be fixed.

Zach snaked out from the kitchen and checked the flow in the basement afterwards. He basically snaked out both areas when he ran the snake from the kitchen, so he only charged me for the one drain. He was very courteous and helpful. Did a great job and was quick, efficient, and clean.base

I have not had good luck with Twin Cities plumbers over the years, even ones that had decent grades on Angie's List. So, I thought I would try a new shop. In turning once again to Angie's List, Norblum Plumbing stood out both in terms of the number of top grades received but, more significantly, the enthusiasm so many of the customers expressed for the service they received. Many named specific plumbers to compliment. One who caught by attention was "Jim" - and I think his surname might be Peterson. So, when I called for an appointment, I mentioned that I would like to have Jim come out, and he got the assignment.
Amy, the dispatcher, was courteous and helpful. She offered same day service if I needed that, which I did not. Next day was fine. Jim showed up within the time window promised. He was very cordial and obviously quite intelligent. He was able to do the repair within the first hour.
All in all, it was an extremely favorable experience, and I now feel that I have found the plumber I will use and recommend in the future. Jim said that he has been at Norblom since he finished school - 13 years - meaning that he is likely to be there next time I call.

Woke up to find our old water heater was spraying water all over our basement floor. Called Norblom Plumbing at 7:30 a.m. and had a new, functioning water heater by 10:30 a.m. Mike, the plumber they sent over, was knowledgeable and courteous. He had different models to offer us and did not use any sales pressure or scare tactics. I'm sure we paid more for the water heater than if we'd purchased it from a home improvement or appliance store, but he removed the old one and had the new one delivered and installed in time for me to still get in 2/3 day at work.

Our drains in the basement started to back up. I tried a couple things to remove the clog but nothing worked. I called Norblom's and left a message on their emergency voice mail box. I called at 11:50 PM and had a call back within several minutes. Since the water wasn't being used we were able to hold off on emergency service. I was able to schedule for the first thing in the morning during regular business hours. I had received a quote for the drain cleaning which was what was charged. I had used an Angie's List coupon to knock the price down a bit. Zach, the service tech., gave me a 30 minute warning call and was there when promised. He had the clog sorted out within an hour. Couldn't be happier with the price or the service!

We recently purchased a gas range to replace our old electric range. We needed to have a gas line run to our kitchen. I found Norblom Plumbing on Angie's list and the reviews were so good I decided to call them. I am so glad I did. Jim arrived on time and was very professional,friendly and knowledgeable The job was a little more complicated than usual because we had put several layers of plywood where he needed to drill but he was not detered by this and quickly finished the job and hooked up the stove. I felt very comfortable with him in my home and would recommend him ti anyone in need of a plumber. He also spoke very highly of his fellow workers at Norblom which says alot about the company.

The plumber was able to replace the garbage disposal on the same day / same visit. He was also very upfront about the toilet leak and how he was only slowing the leak down, since he wasn't able to fix it entirely without replacing the toilet. Awesomely honest!

We called several companies to compare what they had to say about water heaters and also to find out about cost and when they could come out to replace the old water heater in our home. Mike was the person I initially talked with on the phone and he said he was a former installer, so I felt very confident in his knowledge and recommendation.
Mike put us on the schedule to get a replacement water heater within a couple days. Other companies were many more days out.
When the work was to be done, two individuals arrived. They laid tarp down on the floor in the hallway and down the stairs and they were very careful to make sure all the water was out before hauling the old one upstairs.
There were two options in terms of water heater heights for the model we selected. One of these would have bumped into existing venting pipe, so we selected the shorter and wider model. That worked out great because they positioned the water heater on the floor with enough clearance to the furnace.
The city inspector was just out at our house about an hour ago and he said they did a very good job.
We moved into this home a year ago and it's good to find reliable contractors to do work. We will call Norblom when we have other plumbing needs and we would recommend them to anyone who wants to replace their current water heater.

Scheduling with Norblom was very easy, thanks to quick & informative emails with Amy. They were able to work with our limited availability. Plumber arrived during the 2-hour window we were given and there was nothing unexpected for the repair. Plumber had to add some extra piping to allow for the boiler valve and there was a nervous moment when we realized he hadn't checked the clearance of the bathroom door prior to installation. Luckily there is about an inch clearance for the door to swing open. We are careful about opening & shutting the door, but haven't had any problems thus far. Norblom pulled the required permit & after the work was done I received another detailed email with all the information for scheduling the city inspection. That hasn't happened yet, but we don't expect any problems.
Updating the gas valves went smoothly as well. The purpose was to elliminate 2 very small gas leaks due to old style valves.
Initial estimate was a little vague, but more specific than the other 2 plumbers we received quotes from, and overall rates were similar, so we went with Norblom. We were hoping total would be closer to $400, but $500 was acceptable assuming the work clears inspection. Based on professionalism, promptness and communication, I would hire this company again.
