I'm delighted! The waste pipe was a DYI mess from the previous owner. Now it makes sense. The floors in this old house slope which is not ideal for plumbing, but Jim managed to install the new toilet level and stable. He also "works clean" which I really appreciated.

Expected the plumber to take less than 45 minutes to snake drain. Took almost an hour and a half to unclog. Would have cost $275 without Angie's List discount.

The individual who came out, Jim, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He answered all of my questions clearly. There was no mess left behind and my dog liked him as well.

This kind of service is the reason that Norblom's is my favorite plumbing company in the metro area!

We had a leak in our upstairs bathtub that was manifesting itself as a stain on our kitchen ceiling. I sent Norblom an email via the Angie's List website and had a call back first thing on MON. They scheduled an appt promptly, called to say they could come early and showed up when agreed. Very professional service tech who diagnosed the issue, fixed it and was out in <1 hour. He even gave me the option to do some of the work myself to save some money.

We have had a strong rotten egg smell in our basement every time I started my washer. I have had Center Point come to check for gas leaks, and they couldn't find any problems. I thought it might be in our main drain line. I called Norblom, as they had installed our water heater,which is 10 years old and running perfectly. They were able to schedule us right away. Jim Peterson, called to let me know he was running EARLY, and could he come before the scheduled time. Jim was friendly, introduced himself, put on his shoe covers and went right to work. He absolutely knows his job, listened to our concerns, and is exactly the person you want when you have a problem. He replaced the drain under our sink, no problem. In the basement, he checked the water heater, the main drain, my water softener, and had me turn on the washer. The foul smell was actually coming from the water from my washer. No other water in the house has that smell. As the washer drained into the wash tub,the smell was overwhelming. We feel the problem will be solved with a new washer. I now know our sewer line is fine, and my hot water heater is also.

Jim from Norblom arrived within a few hours of my call for help. The source of the leak, a third-floor bathtub drain, was identified by the ceiling contractors who tore down the 90-year-old lath-and-plaster ceiling, which had cracked and begun to crumble over the years due to minor but persistent water intrusion. Jim took a very methodical and careful approach so as not to ruin the bathtub or the plumbing leading from it. The age of the installation required great care and a special trip to a plumbing supply for special parts, all of which Jim accomplished efficiently and cheerfully. Old houses present challenging plumbing problems, and I very much appreciated Jim's thoughtful and sensible approach at preserving the existing assets (while effectively resolving the problem).

I called Norblom's office this morning to schedule an appointment to have a broken showerhead replaced and a plumber was at our house an hour later. I wasn't expecting same-day service, but that's what I got and I am very happy with the quality of the prompt service.

Went well with no problems - we wanted a safer and more elaborate dedicated water line and he accommodated us.

I ended up deciding not to do the project at all, but I felt that they gave me an honest opinion and advice and gave me an estimate which I very much appreciated. I would definitely use Norblom in the future for other projects.

It went very well. He fixed my outside faucets quickly, one of which was seemingly difficult. He also fixed my toilet and showed me how another plumber could have tried to replace a lot of parts and spend a lot more money. After a few weeks, the toilet runs like it should, no leaking water.

We knew water was leaking from bathtub drain, but wasn't sure if the whole tub needed to be replaced or just a quick plumbing fix. Fortunately, it was the latter. Darrin came out on time, fixed the leak, and reassured us we didn't need a new tub, but did suggest we might want to consider having a tile guy out to do some touch-up on the tile grouting/sealing (which we knew about but had been putting off). Can't say enough about what a positive experience this was!

Very easy! I sent an email via their website to request an appointment after work hours Wednesday night. I got an email right away the next morning to schedule for Friday first thing. Todd arrived within their promised window and talked me thru the options - might be a rubber piece/seat that needed to be replaced, or - worst case - might need to be replaced. As he was working I asked him if it was something I could do and he was kind enough to explain to me what he was doing & how he was doing it because if it was just replacing the rubber bit, then I could do it. I needed to have the whole piece replaced as my valve had been rubbing metal on metal and needed to be replaced. No worries, he replaced it and was done in less than an hour. I would definitely use them again.

Jim was timely, friendly and professional. I told him that I needed to have the repairs done but I needed the cost as low as possible. He asked us about whether we planned to renovate the bath in the near future so that he could offer advice as to what could be done to save costs. I told him we did not plan to renovate so I needed the repairs to last. When it came time to decide what to do about the faucet he offered to try to get the part for us, but advised we would have to pay for his time, or I could get it and save money not paying for his time or the mark-up Norblum charges for the part. He also explained what would need to be done if the faucet needed to be replaced and why it would cost about $1000. When Jim came back to repair the faucet he said that he had never made a repair on this type of faucet because you don't see many of them anymore but his repair work succeeded- the faucet works better and does not drip. He also said it looked like the faucet had never been taken apart before so I'm glad he was able to repair it. While Jim was there I asked him about replacing the water heater and he offered alot of advice for us to consider regarding tankless heater vs. a tank heater. Jim was very informative and answered all my questions and did not place judgement on our decisions.

Our 80-year old house needed its 25+ year-old toilets replaced. We called Norblom on a Friday afternoon to get an estimate, noodled on it over the weekend, then called them again on Monday to schedule an appointment. They told us that it would be cheaper for us to provide the porcelains, and a trip to a local home store yielded our chosen thrones. I called to make sure that our plumber would be able to wrestle the new toilets into the house, and was assured that would be done. 'Todd' arrived 5 minutes early, ready to go. He assured me that both toilets (basement and main floor) would be easy to install, and I left him to it. Our cat 'supervised', and he took care that the cat didn't skin out the back door while he was going in and out of the basement. Todd also made sure to cover the carpet in the living room before he removed the old toilet. We are very pleased with our new toilets, and would use Norblom again for plumbing needs.

Jim has been to our house a few times for different issues and repairs. He is always courteous, respectful, thorough, and gets the job done right. He also makes sure that I understand exactly what the issues are, what our options are, and in the end what work he completed. I highly recommend Jim and Norblom Plumbing.

Jim was very punctual and professional, and explained everything to me in detail. He spoke to me instead of at me, and answered all of my questions as we went along. In a rental property my wife and I own, the hot water handle would need to be cranked well past it's normal stoppage point to shut the water off; as we paid the water on the property, it ended up being a costly situation every month. Jim came in and diagnosed the problem almost immediately, and got to work within minutes. He was very efficient in his work, and didn't waste any time getting the job done. I would 100% recommend using Norblom Plumbing in the future for repairs fixture installations.

They were excellent workers and very professional. They did a great job and they kept busy. They had excellent work ethic and came back to double check their work. You usually dread people to come to your house but this time it was a pleasure. They arrived on time and they were very professional. They got the job done and I was very satisfied.

I've used them before so I expected good work and I got it. They came out the day after I called, and were actually 15 minutes early. Work was completed in 20 minutes. Very fast, very efficient. No problems.

We were able to make an appointment for the next day. They came right on time and did the work quickly and neatly. It looks great! We would hire them again.

I am a pretty handy guy around the house and feel like I can tackle a lot of little projects, but when we noticed that the elbow joint connecting our water meter to the main copper house feed was deeply corroded, I called Norblom Plumbing and they set up an appointment for the very next day. The plumber was very young but very skilled and professional. He explained that there should be a secondary shutoff valve where the was none, just after the water meter. He warned me that if there was a problem with the old main shutoff he would have to freeze the main pipe or call the city to shut off the main. Fortunately, the old valve worked. He replaced the damaged elbow which was so badly rusted and rotten I can't believe it didn't burst just under water pressure! This alone was worth paying somebody else to do. He also added a modern shutoff valve inline just above that. Knowing that we needed the extra shutoff was also worth the money. Our plumber was well equipped and knowledgeable about the correct configuration for the plumbing and had everything repaired and working in less than an hour. He was friendly and courteous and arrived right in their estimated window. I would have liked a heads-up phone call as he was arriving just so I could kennel my dog, but she didn't seem to mind visitors. A+ factor = Our plumber asked specifically if we had found them on Angie's List and took 10% off their labor! I did not know about or ask for this discount. ...and now, my sermon on getting what you pay for: Keep in mind that plumbing work is very expensive, but you are paying not only for experience, but Norblom's guarantee, insurance and bonding. If you have a buddy from your softball team do the work and something goes wrong, you are screwed. Pay for the job once and sleep peacefully, or possibly regret it later with much hand-wringing and heartache. There is a reason plumbers are licensed and insured. Take advantage of it! Amen

We discovered our water heater was beginning to leak on a Saturday and left a non-emergency message for Norblom that day. They called us back immediately on Monday morning and were able to come over first thing on Tuesday to install a new one. The technicians were very professional. They were also very nice to my three year old son who was interested in the work they were doing. While preparing to do the work, they discovered that we did not have a chimney liner. The technician explained to me this was needed to do the work according to code and also explained the practical reasons. With a few calls, he was able to get some over to install the liner that same day, which was great because it meant that I didn't need to take any additional time off of work. The work done by Norblom was great. The one complaint I have is that they charged me more for using a credit card and did not disclose that prior to the time that the technician presented me with the bill. Based on my research, under Visa and Mastercard merchant agreements it is not acceptable to charge more for a credit card transaction, but it is legal to give a "cash discounted price," which is essentially the same thing. I recommend that Norblom give this information upfront, so there is no confusion to their consumers. It doesn't seem fair for the technicians to have deal with the consumer's surprise when making the payment that the actual cost is different than what was quoted at the beginning.

We've used Norblom in the past and had great service. This time was no different. They were on time, professional, kept the area clean and solved the problem (slow drain due to major clog). They also took the time to educate us on drain cleaners and provided us with one that isn't toxic to everything. Again, very happy with Norblom and will use them again in the future.
