Norblom Plumbing

My overall experience with Norblom plumbing was fantastic. While I was out of town, my girlfriend called me to tell me that the gas water heater was leaking. Because the cold water shutoff value was also broken, the mainline needed to be shut off. So there was no running water period. Went to Angie's List and saw that Norblum and a couple of other companies were recommended for water heater installation services. In my inquiries I simply mentioned that I was looking to replace my water heater and Mike Larson from Norblum contacted me immediately and was able to answer all my questions via email and phone. He was able to get someone (another MIke) to stop by my house to provide an estimate for the new heater. Upon inspecting the unit, Mike noted a couple of issues that would have required remediation in order to meet code for a gas heater. Mike was able to provide me with estimates on cost and time and based on that I decided to have an electric heater installed. He was able to contact an electrician they work with to come and drop the necessary line the next day and Mike was also able to install the heater right after the line was installed. I would definitely call Norblum for any future plumbing work.

The process was remarkable in its lack of problems. The entire transaction required only brief communication with the company. The company took care of all the details and we are pleased with the new water heater as well as the process. CenterPoint Energy takes care of the paperwork for a nice rebate which will arrive in a few weeks.

I was very satisfied with the services. The plumber was up front about the hourly rates. He diagnosed the problem and performed the services, replacing necessary parts all in about 45 minutes. I have not had any clog issues since.

I chose this plumber because of his excellent ratings, but I was not very pleased when he left. He came within the time frame quoted and I believe the work done was good. However, it would have been nice to received a phone call the day before to reconfirm the appointment since it had been made the week before. I was pleased that when he arrived he put booties over his large boots, but they did no good. He tracked water and dirt across my living room, dining room, and all over my kitchen wood floors. When I expressed my displeasure, he said that they were not allowed to remove their shoes. Well for pete's sake get better foot coverings then!

They called me not long after i posted my inquiry for a bid. On the day of the install, the technician made phone contact, arrived promptly. He and his colleague did excellent work, made efficient use of time, had a pleasant demeanor. He took time to explain code, aspects of what he had done in the job, and in the end walked me though the operation of the water heater. It was a thoroughly pleasant experience, and I would gladly hire them again.

The plumber from Norblom was prompt, courteous, and finished the work in excellent time. High marks all around. Good company; good people!

We had water damage to the ceiling in the laundry room due to a problem with an upstairs bathtub. I called Norblom and they set up an appointment for us with Andrew with a time window of 12-4. Andrew called me at 11:15 to let me know he'd be there in about half an hour. He actually showed up earlier than the window at 11:45. He took a few minutes to assess the situation and discovered that we had a bad overflow gasket on the tub. He quickly replaced the gasket and offered to show me where the problem had been. The whole thing took less than 40 minutes and Andrew was very professional and courteous. He was even able to give me a referral for someone who could come fix the water damaged sheetrock in the laundry room. I'm pleased that everything was taken care of so quickly. I am planning on doing some bathroom remodeling soon and will definitely use Norblom again.

We had a leaking drain pipe that was dripping into the furnace room. It was the drain to the kitchen sink. We have a finished basement with a textured sheetrock ceiling, and the area of the pipe that was cracked extended into the finished area. This meant that to replace it, a hole would need to be cut in the ceiling. Wanting to avoid having to do this, Jim patiently listened to my suggestions of me possibly attempting to fix the situation by spreading a sealing compound on the crack. He said it might work and recommended a specific product and described how to apply it. I ultimately decided against that, and told him to go ahead. I asked that he be careful in cutting the piece out of the ceiling so that I could possibly use it to repair the hole. He carefully measured and cut it out in one piece. Jim then replaced the failing area of pipe. Along the way he patiently explained what he was doing and the parts he was using. He arrived on time, did a great job, was completely professional and left absolutely no mess behind. I've found the plumbing company I'll be using in the future.

Mike figured out the problem right away. The thing I appreciated was that he tried the dishwasher before he left so we could see right away if the problem was fixed.

They are very professional and he is a good plumber. He went over and beyond to make sure all work was complete and done properly. He explained a few things about plumbing and gave tips about what to do. I will use them again in the future.

He showed within the window of time that was agreed upon and finished the job in an efficient manner. Overall it was an excellent experience.

I noticed that there was a water leak under my gas water heater on the afternoon of Thursday, Dec 15, 2011. Not wanting to wait until a small leak became a big leak, I called Norblom Plumbing that afternoon. Norblom is a company that I found on Angies List a few years ago, and have had good experiences with. The person who answered the phone was very nice, and gave me several different options and the prices for each. She was then able to set up an appointment for the next morning. On the morning of the 16th, the plumber arrived right in the window I was given, between 9:00 and 10:00. He installed a new water heater and a new water shut off valve, which I knew I needed, and a new gas shut off valve, which I found out needed to be replaced, as it wasn't up to code. He explained everything, and answered all my questions. Pricing was given up front, with no surprises. It was also great to be able to get an appointment for the next day, as I didn't want to let this problem go over the weekend. I will definately use Norblom Plumbing again.

Came within an hour due to a cancelation. Got right to work and worked very efficiently. Done in about 70 minutes.

I woudld definately recommend them and use them again.

We just recently purchased a new home and had a number of questions and needed updates. Jim was very helpful and the work done was excellent.

They arrived right on time, but it took the plumber a long time to replace the six inches of pipe. It looks like he did a good job. I wanted him also to fix the leaky faucet in a bathroom. I had all the parts and the instructions on how to change the parts. He was unable to get the handles loose on the faucet. He stated he woudl need to remove the entire sink from the wall and it would cost $300. I told him no. I still have a leaky faucet!

Jim from Nordbloom solved my plumbing mystery, and then went the extra mile to give me the advice I needed to understand how I could fix the problem myself. The unique thing about Nordbloom Plumbing and Jim in particular is that he followed up with me to make sure I was happy and got what I needed. Even better...I ran into a major problem on Saturday night striking my main water line. I was bummed out as I was trying to save money by doing this myself, but now figured it would cost over $1,000 to get emergency weekend help. I called Jim and he walked me through what I needed to do. I was able to fix the issue for very little money. The next day, he followed up yet again to make sure all was well and offered to squeeze me in Monday morning if need be. After I explained what I did to fix the issue he felt that I had done exactly what was needed and suggested a few things I could do to finish the job without having to pay any additional plumber charges. Incredible! I've never run into this type of service before. I'll never use anyone else!!!

Jim Peterson was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and a fun and friendly guy. He answered all my questions, and had great tips and tricks for using my new refrigerator. He laid down tarps before starting the job, and cleaned up everything before leaving. Jim takes great pride in his work, and rightfully so because he does a great job.

The person that came to do the estimate was on time, seemed pleasant enough.... No one ever emailed or got back to me with an estimate. When I said I wouldn't use this company again, I checked that box because there are only two choices. I would be open to using them in the future because of other Angie's list recommendations if they were better with communication.

Overall it was a terrible experience and very disappointed with the company.

Installer was polite and professional. Job was completed very quickly. Clean work--installer laid down canvas to prevent carpet staining when he rolled out the old water heater on a dolly. Water heater has been working great, no leaks or anything like that so far.

The plumber was punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. The job was done well and in good time. He answered all questions and gave advice on a couple of other issues for which I may need work in the future.

I called and they got someone out the same morning, even though it wasn't an emergency. They arrived on time and got right to work. They offered multiple solutions to keep costs down. Even though we ended up needing the more expensive option, they completed the job quickly and professionally, I can't imagine using any other plumber. Every job, every employee has been wonderful. Very courteous, knowledgeable and honest. I no longer fear calling the plumber. A+ in all categories.

Arrived on time, completed the job quickly with attention to detail, took time to answer questions and informed us of the operatinal proceedures.
