The plumber, Mark, showed up on on time, was very personable and walked through everything I needed done. He also walked through all of the work after it was done, explaining things I needed to know. All work was done efficiently, and he thoroughly cleaned up afterward. I am very satisfied with the work and the price.

They do not overcharge you for things you may not need.Also, keep in mind that when it comes to your home repairs it is always best to get a professional. Description of Work: 2 weeks ago I discovered water in my basement. We have carpeting on the floor so it went unnoticed until 2 weeks ago when I was doing late spring cleaning. The leak seemed to be coming from our 2nd floor tub area, I called Norblom Plumbing and Amy answered she was very helpful and professional with answering my questions.The very next morning July 26 they sent out a plumber. Jim Peterson was the plumber who was assigned to me and he was very attentive and wasted no time going to work. He made our day, his care in preparing and cleaning up behind his work went beyond my expectations. He tried his best to keep the job small but it turned out to be bigger than we both thought.He started in the bath area - checking for any leaks from tub (This would have been the least cost for me)Then he had to open our wall in the basement he did so meticulously. By him taking time to explore the possibilities he found 2 leaks not just one. If he was not so meticulous we probably would have found just the main leak. I had 1 major leak behind the wall and 1 small one. Thank you so much Jim for your professionalism, and courtesy.

Description of Work: In the middle of the day, as I started the laundry, I realized that the drain in my utility floor was blocked and that water had pooled in a 4 foot diameter in the middle of the laundry room. I raced to Angie's list to get the name of a plumber and found that Norblom was highly recommended. Thrilled, I called only to find out that they don't handle drain issues. However, never fear, Amy found me a solution! After really understanding what was happening, she recommended another company and in particular one employee with his direct number so that I could get to someone faster. I was impressed to see that kind of referral to another company and that she didn't just say "not our deal" and hang up. With customer service like that, I would be happy to call back when the need fits their services.

 + 0 moreI was having trouble installing a sump pump I purchased from Lowes, so I hired Norblom Plumbing to do the install. Jim showed up on time and went right to work. As he worked, he gave explanations on what he was doing so that I would know how to replace or service the pump down the road. It was the best couple of hundred bucks I spent all week and I would definitely hire this company again.

 + -1 moreThey were responsive to my calls and concern. They did use a bucket of mine for disposal and they broke it. One of the plumbers had to make an adjustment on our shower stool he was unable to get it done correctly so they had to send someone else out and didn't charge me for that so that was good. The other thing was I did have to get them down in price compared to estimates I had received.

 + -1 morePretty much what I said above. Norblom came quickly, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it. Took less than 1 hour. I have used Norblom several times over the past years and have been totally satisfied with the results. I also appreciate that the company is professional at all levels. Not only is the worksmanship top quality, but also the receptionist is great, too. It may seem that this doesn't matter, but actually, to me, it makes a difference. I used to use a different plumber who "went franchise" and treated its customers to a cumbersome "Good morning, it's a great day at XXXX, how can we be of service to you" (and usually, when you have to call a plumber, it is not a "great" day). I like how quickly I can get to the point when I call Norblom, as well as how reliable their work is. I have recommended Norblom to several friends and neighbors and all have been satisified.
Description of Work: Hot water heater pipe leaking because, as Norblom figured out, it was in contact with another pipe (I think I am remembering this right). Was able to fix without replacing the pipe. Made sure pipe were no longer in contact.

 + -1 moreVery nice on phone, up front on costs (including inspector fee for city). Gave options on water heaters - styles, costs, warranties, etc. Plumber was on time and professional. Removed old water heater. Kept us informed that he may need to turn off the water to the whole house. Had water heater delivered to him, and he installed quickly. Started water back up. Gave instructions on use of heater, suggested how to clear lines since they had been turned off. All in all - good to work with.
Description of Work: Removal and haul away of old water heater. Delivery and installation of new water heater.

 + -1 moreI was going out of town, and discovered the problem, and knew I needed to take care of it before I left. I called Norblom Plumbing at 7:30 AM on Monday morning, and Mark was at my door by 8:15. He was courteous, friendly, efficient, and did an excellent job.
Description of Work: I had a leak in the pipe that came up vertically through the basement floor, before the shut-off valve. The city had to come and shut off the water, then Mark installed a new length of pipe where the leak was, a new shut-off valve and new short length of pipe above the valve (he asked for my approval on these last 2). They were also showing their age and it seemed like a good idea to replace them also. The city people came back and turned the water back on, and there was no more water leaking.

 + -1 moreI called them on Wednesday to get a hot water heater installed by Saturday. We converted from electric to gas, so they sent someone over to look at the job Thursday morning to insure they had the correct venting. Friday they arrived and the plumber moved the intake vent to a better location when I asked a couple questions. They were very prompt in returning my calls and the water heater was installed by 10:30 am friday. They took my credit card for the full amount so we could defer paying for this unforeseen expense about 30 days.
Description of Work: They removed our electric water heater and replaced it with a gas water heater, and did the necessary venting work for the conversion.

 + 0 moreCalled on 5/8/2012 with problems with two hot water heaters. One heating water poorly, the other unable to maintain pilot. Jim Peterson, Norblom Service Specialist, arrived same day. Identified thermocouple out on one heater, which I decided to replace instead of repair because of its age. The other was functioning properly but was mixing hot water with cold from another source, which Jim identified as cross-connection. Old valves on the set up were shot so had them removed in interest of least cost, and that fixed the problem with the other hot water heater. A very able plumber (name of Steve, I think) came the next day and performed all the work and he did a great job.
Description of Work: Installed Rheem 40 gal. gas water heater with 6 yr. warranty. Pulled permit. Removed/recycled one old water heater. For a second water heater, identified source of cross-connection in downstream plumbing and removed fixtures and capped lines.

Description of Work: Connected a new gas line to a clothes dryer (I had the line run previously with the plan to replace an electric dryer with a gas one, but no fittings, etc., were on it). The service man did the work perfectly, then pointed out a couple of things the handyman who had vented the unit didn't do. He offered to get things to code and I agreed.
