Norblom Plumbing

We just moved into a new house (new to us but built in the 50's). Our main drain was backing up when we ran the washing machine. I'm handy enough usually to deal with such issues but the cleanout plug was original wouldn't budge. Not wanting to make a bad situation worse, I called Norblom?s Plumbing and had an appointment scheduled for the following morning. When I scheduled the appointment, I was quoted a standard price and even advised that the there was an Angie's List coupon available. Zach arrived well within the 2 hour window that I was scheduled for and even apologized for running a bit behind (even though he was quite on-time). He quickly assessed the situation and assured me the fix would be an easy one. He chiseled out the old plug, removed the clog and replaced the plug with new PVC. He even gave me some pointers in case it happened again and I wanted to correct the issue myself. He was quick, professional, knowledgeable and personable. I will no doubt consider Norblom's for any future plumbing needs. A+ service for sure! I should add that it was Norblom's responses to the D and F ratings that made me want to try them.

We called about a leak under the sink and also wanted our garbage disposal unit checked out. We asked that they call 20 minutes before arriving and the plumber did call. He fixed the leak under the sink. I also asked him to check out the disposal unit and faucet that was installed by another company (Hessian). The plumber told us that the prior plumber from Hessian neglected to change the disposal ring when he installed the disposal unit--he left the 20 year old ring on and also never gave us the new ring. The plumber from Norblom told me that I could get a new ring from a home improvement store or could check with the company that made the unit. He said that the disposal unit would have to be pulled out if I wanted the the new ring installed.

Both experiences with Norblom was great. In February, the backflow regulator for our lawn sprinkler system froze up and broke open causing a leak and ice geyser in our yard. The serviceman came out and figured out the issue and went through all of the walls and utility areas to make sure their was no additional damage. He turned off the water and fixed the immediate issue. He left the regulator as is though to be repaired when the weather warmed up. We had our sprinkler system provider complete the work. In July, we had a clog in the kitchen disposal and the serviceman came out. After talking about it, he determined it was something stuck in the catch. Rather than complete a full flush, he was able to do a small job and clear the block. Both jobs were completed very quickly and people came out right when expected. I will call Norblom for any plumbing needs in the future for sure!

Great, starting with the fact that I called at 7:50am and someone answered the phone and got me scheduled for an appointment before their business hours even started at 8:00am! Service provider was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Also felt comfortable having him in my home with two small kids. He was polite and friendly to my children as well. Thanks for the great, quick work.

After getting the run-around from RotoRooter, we tried calling Norblom - we were looking to have our new kitchen sink installed as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, they were booked for the day, however, they used caller ID and called me back in 10 minutes to say there had been a cancellation. Rick arrived in about 40 minutes and, after some running around because of screws WE were missing, had our sink installed in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend and use again!

I was helping my daughter clean her home and I usually empty the dirty cleaning water in the toilet. I forgotten that I had a sponge in the bucket when I emptied it and realized that only after the toilet was very slow to empty. I tried to remove the sponge but it was too far for my reach. After calling a couple of plumbing companies, and being told the cost and that being the day before a holiday it would cost more, I called Norblom. They were happy to send someone out later in the day as they were already working in the area. The cost would be their normal charge. Zach arrived on time, was very friendly and polite, and removed the sponge in minutes. He felt bad that I had to pay so much money for just a couple of minutes work. I was just happy that he could do the job right before a holiday and did have a coupon from Angie's list that helped some. I would hire this company again.

We've used Norblom many times and would never bother calling anyone else. Their men had already been to the house and advised us on the particulars of these two installations. The dishwasher was tricky, owing to earlier work done in the house, and we had been forewarned. Their man provided me with the tool I needed to do part of the work (easy) myself, to save money. I find them extremely reasonable, as they seem to find the most time-efficient ways to do jobs. Their men also advised us that we needed an electrician. Not only did they contact an electrician for us, they advised us to contract him ourselves (which simply meant we'd schedule the appointment, not them), because that would also save us money. We liked the electrician so much (he's highly recommended on AL) that we hired him to do a big job. Every Norblom plumber who's come to the house has been pleasant, punctual, and professional to the max, as have their phone staff. Way to go, Norblom and AL!

Very well. Jim was very efficient & confident about solving the problem.

The drain underneath my bathtub collapsed when I took it upon myself to replace the drain flange (the part the stopper screws into). Norblom rebuilt the entire drain assembly, which required cutting a hole in a wall behind the drain plumbing. The plumber was professional, friendly, and arrived on time, and the work was done perfectly. Excellent service and value! I can find nothing to criticize about this experience.

I had Jim Peterson, Norblom Plumbing do work at my home one time prior to having him return for this larger job. He is consistently excellent. He takes great pride in his work and is totally committed to providing a positive customer experience. He provided me with a complete overview of the work with the bid, explained it completely and answered all of my questions as well as addressed my concerns. He arrived on time and completed all of the work, as promised, in a single day. Once his work was completed he cleaned up the area and then walked me through all of the changes. All of the work was needed but I especially appreciate having the noise and rattling pipes eliminated from doing laundry. Approximately one week after the work was completed Jim called to make certain everything was working well and I was satisfied with the changes. Jim returned to my home to fix a leak in the upstairs bath. My grandson turned the handle in the shower too far and cracked a ring in the faucet which caused a leak that was coming through the kitchen ceiling. My home is old and the bathroom is the only original plumbing that remains. He was able to repair it without having to make major changes. Someone else might have turned that leak into a full redo. Each visit the water had to be shut off to my home, Jim turned the water on slowly which is easier on old pipes and minimizes the air in the pipes eliminating all of the force when the water is turned on. He understands older homes and takes care to ensure his work does not negatively impact the existing plumbing. Jim is thoughtful, very skilled and provides exceptional customer service. I would not consider calling anyone but Norblom and Jim for any plumbing repairs. .

Everything turned out well except for the seal rings and positioning of one of our toilets. That was not done correctly the first time. They sent out a trouble shooter who corrected that problem and all turned out well. Mike, the person who takes the problem calls was professional and his followup was very good. Jim, the trouble shooter, is the man who checks out any service work not done correctly or completely and made the necessary corrections, all done satisfactorily with a great attitude.

I couldn't be happier with the service. Steve was wonderful - he helped us with significant problems and did a great job (even the city plumbing inspector said so).

Whole process went very well. When I called Norblum, they took the time to explain my options and the pros and cons of the various model of water heaters. When they came out, the technician explained what he was doing and immediately informed me that there would be an additional charge to charge the valve on the water line. They had warned me about this on the phone before he came. No other additional charges outside of what I was quoted. Once the water heater was installed, he waited around for 15-20 minutes to make sure we had hot water and then explained how to operate the water heater including how and when to drain it. The last thing he did was to write their initials and the month and year on the outside of the water heater, so I instanly know whe it was installed.

The installation went well and the toilet works fine. However, the bathroom was left a complete mess. The plumber had to do some grinding of a pipe and everything in the bathroom has a black film all over it. Our vanity has a permanent stain on it from this procedure. There is no way for us to completely clean this up. A tarp or plastic should have been laid to protect the bathroom from this mess.

Steve came out and gave us an estimate that was considerably lower than the other 3 companies we contacted. Normally I would consider that a red flag, but with the reviews on AL we decided to go ahead and use them (my husband was previously a PM for a contractor and he thought their est. was right in line also). Everything went well and the new tub looks great! Only thing to note is that they do not handle any drywall repair etc. so we needed to do that ourselves which was fine as they let us know that when they estimated the job.

The plumber was on time, very efficient and fast. He knew exactly what was wrong and immediately fixed it.

Norblom was great! They gave me a two hour window of time for arrival and were punctual. Andrew did the job quickly, proficiently and was very professional. He also reminded me of the Angie's List discount, which I appreciated. I'd definitely call Norblom for future plumbing needs.

Paul brought out a new Kohler toilet. He removed the old toilet and the old shut off valve that was stuck. He changed the wax ring and cleaned up the old caulk. He set the new toilet and re-caulked. Took the old toilet for disposal. He cleaned up so well you never would have known he had been here. This only took 1hr and 45minutes. Paul was very nice and did an excellent job. I will definitely use Norblom for my future plumbing needs. The toilet is a very efficient low flow toilet. No need to worry about it being low flow - it works great.

Both Jim and Zack came out to complete the work. Zack wasn't able to clean out the basement floor drain and recommended that I have it replaced. Jim was working on the boiler and claw foot tub. His work was completed much faster than I expected and the results were excellent. Both plumbers were professional and prompt. I will definitely contact this plumbing company again.
